The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Quest. After the ignition key was turned to the on position, the vehicle failed to start intermittently without warning. In addition, while driving at night, the head lamps randomly became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake line or ignition system may need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,256.

2 Brake Hoses, Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 1999 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/24/2002

Vehicle was parked and without warning, caught on fire. Vehicle was totaled. Firefighters stated that fire was caused by friction from brake lines. Dealership found no evidence of defect. Consumer stated that before the fire there was a burning smell in the brake lines. Dealership advised that this was normal. Consumer is requesting vehicle be replaced, however dealership is not willing to do anything.
