The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Quest. The contact stated the slip warning light illuminated, causing the brakes to fail when applied. The contact had to constantly pump the brakes in order for the vehicle to decelerate. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where they inspected the lines and the brakes but could not find any failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,081.

2 Brakes Failed problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 07/05/2004

The consumer had trouble braking when going down a hill. There was tremendous heat being released from the brakes. Taken to dealer for checkup. . The lowest automatic transmission ha dno slowing effect on down hill speed. This required brake usage. At the brake check point brake leap was 385 degrees. Anything over 350 degress requires at least a 45 minute wait before continuing. While the brakes did not fail completely, they were approaching a temperature which could result in failure.
