The Volkswagen dealership advised they could not fix the airbag recall. They said that the parts are on extreme back order, they can’t schedule an appointment for me to get it fixed, and they have no time estimate on when it can be fixed. I’m very concerned since the airbag recall lists that the driver airbag can explode and cause severe injury or death.

I've been waiting almost a year for an airbag recall replacement and still can't get an appointment anywhere because it's out of stock. I'm driving around with a air bag that can kill me. How long do I need to wait until something happens.

I received a a notice of recall from Volkswagen for my airbag. In my 2012 Passat. I made an appointment with autonation mall of georgia Volkswagen service department for repair. I brought my car in on my appointment date and was informed upon my arrival that there is a back order of these airbags. Their recall says that the airbag may deploy at any time due to temperature and or humidity changes. I was not given a solution for repair, just told" the tariffs have impacted the arrival of the airbags for this recall. " this is not the first time this has happened to my vehicle. I've even had to pay out of pocket to get the airbag replaced because Volkswagen did not have the part in stock. At this point I'm frustrated and feel that my safety is being put at risk.

Volkwsagen has still addressed the recall of 24v834. I can't find anywhere else to submit a complaint. When I call them they say they do not have the parts even though I was notified of the recall in December 2024. I also called into the nthsa but no one answers your phone. I think your employees are picking up and leaving the phone off the hook.

We just purchased this vehicle for my daughter and when I called the manufacturer about scheduling to perform recall # 24v834 they said the parts were on back order. I asked when they may have the parts and they claimed they didn't know, but the recall wasn't something I would have to worry about unless the air bag light came on. I asked what if in an accident and the air bag deploys would it cause harm and they said it wouldn't. I am not so sure considering the safety risk was an inflator explosion that may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or occupants resulting in serious injury or death. The manufacturer claimed that they type the recalls up in a scary way to scare you into getting the recall done. This is not enough for me when it comes to my young daughter or any passengers safety in the car. I contacted the vw dealer in fate TX and that is the best place for us to get the recall done. I am requesting that something to be done to expedite this part or parts for my daughters vehicle to get this recall completed in a timely manner before something bad happens. Thank you!.
