The contact's daughter owns a 2010 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that her daughter had her fuel pump replaced on five separate occasions. After the most recent failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to schumacher Volkswagen of west palm beach (3001 okeechobee blvd, west palm beach, FL 33409) where three recall repairs were performed on the vehicle; NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v483000 (air bags), 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline), and 18v148000 (air bags). Despite the recall repairs, the contact was informed that the fuel pump was defective and given an estimate for the repair. The contact's daughter then towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the mechanic informed her that an unknown part near the steering column fractured and that the air bag warning light was illuminated. Due to the discovery, the contact had the vehicle towed backed to the dealer and was given an estimate for the repair of the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

A. The engine. 1. My Volkswagen Passat 2013 tdi can not pass massachusetts state inspection, after several times of repair the problem was tracked to emission that the repair shop was not able to fix it (alphacars & motorcycles, alphacars, 649 massachusetts Ave, boxborough, MA 01719, phone: (978) 263-9000). (dates of repairs: ~05/30/2020, ~06/29/2020) 2. Dealer did three recalls and repairing for emission, charged $590 (07/31/2020). But emission issue persisted (08/27/20), and needed to be returned to dealer (08/28/20). 3. Dealer intended to charge another $650 for diagnosis of the emission issue (09/09/2020). 4. The diesel emission issue of this vehicle is not fixed after many repairs, when this issue can be fixed is unknown, whether it is possible to have this issue fixed is unknown. Given that this diesel emission issue comes from Volkswagen's well known software scandal on diesel emissions, and likely due to defective modification conducted later, this vehicle imposes a major risk to driver's safety. B. Airbag. Every time I start the vehicle, I got warning message about the airbag, even though the vehicle is regularly maintained by Volkswagen dealer. The airbag may be defective, and imposes a major risk to driver's safety. C. The vehicle had major coolant leaking. At regular maintenance with dealer, after my complaint, the dealer found a hole and fixed it. Around middle of June, 2020, the leaking became very severe, I got warning light when driving on highway, and the engine temperature was very high and had a danger of complete shutdown.
The rear driver side taillights and turn signal quit working, replaced bulbs still broke. Airbag warning light stays on, this is the same problem that many of the vw have. My VIN shows that 5 repairs have been fixed if these are supposed to be fixed it didn't work. Recalls were over before I got the car so what am I supposed to do? these problems occur whether I'm stationary or moving.
Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated on the vehicle due to a broken clock spring. The contact stated that upon due to the failure, the steering wheel would make a cracking noise while being turned at various speeds. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with a broken clock spring. Upon investigation, the contact discovered recall NHTSA campaign number: 15v483000(air bags); however, his vehicle was not included in this recall. The contact also took the vehicle to winn Volkswagen woodland hills 21141 ventura blvd, woodland hills, CA 91364 where he was informed that the vehicle would have to have a diagnostic and that the vehicle would not be covered under warranty or the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the matter and offered no assistance. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was a 140,000. Jo.

Volkswagen replaced my vehicle steering wheel "clockspring" under a previous safety recall. My car has now recently suffered from a failed steering wheel "clockspring". My drivers side front airbag is now incapacitated, my horn no longer works and my steering wheel controls do not work. This occurred upon my making a full left hand turn, upon making the turn, I heard cracking sounds come from my steering wheel and all of the sudden, I got an airbag error warning light (I still do), my horn did not work (still does not) and my steering wheel controls did not work (still don't). This should be a second recall to cover this issue because the "clockspring" was formally recalled for the exact reasons that I (and apparently a lot of other auto owners) now suffer from and the supposed replaced clockspring is causing the same safety issues. Volkswagen is currently not taking responsibility for installing faulty "clocksprings" or negligent auto design for this issue. A new safety recall for this should be issued.
My passenger side airbag warning light is always on and the airbag is makes noise that is irritating.

Takata recall. I took my vehicle into vw in 3/2016 for the recall. At that time none of the controls on my steering wheel were working and the air bag warning light was on. I was advised they put a cover over the clock spring and also replaced the clock spring. Fast forward to 2018 and theres an issue with the clock spring needing to be replaced again. The driver airbag warning light is on agaon, steering wheel controls dont working and to add to that now a clicking sound when the steering wheel is turned. Vvw says im outside warranty on recalled parts and I'm the one that will be out of pocket on the $700 repair.

The vehicle was serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 15v483000 (air bags) but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the air bag waring light remained illuminated after the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80. 182. Jw.
In oct/6/2017 took my car to rudolph vw for the air bag recall, in June 29, 2018. I got the same warning lights except this time they are telling me that the problem is the clock spring, the part under nit the cup and airbag and this time I have to pay for it, a problem originated by them and now they want to collect $ 610. 00 dlls. Also they said that the warranty expired, 1 year or 12,000 miles, my car odometer record indicate back the 28086 in 10/6/17 and now 80,998 miles impossible to believe.
There was a noise like a overtightened spring from the steering column when turning at low speed. Right afterwards, the horn as well as steering wheel controls for audio and phone stopped working. Later the airbag warning light came on in dash. Possible failure of the clock spring. Failed at 59,600 miles.

On 01/10/18 I took my vehicle in for some recalls. On 05/22/18, I heard noise coming from the steering column, the airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard and all of the steering-mounted controls failed. This occurred while I was driving, and can hear the noises most when turning. Based on my research and talk with other vw drivers, it appears to be the clock spring (which had a recall on it, and was supposed to have been fixed). I understand there is no active recall on this issue, however, does this not indicate the recall performed failed? that being said, I dont feel safe driving around in a vehicle that says my airbag wont deploy if I am in an accident.
Airbag warning light remains illuminated and warning chime constantly rings. This is at approximately 53,000 miles. When vehicle turned on light came on and has remained on.
The clockspring in my steering wheel has failed and a warning message is displayed when starting the car and also the airbag warning light remains on. In addition, due to the clockspring failure the steering wheel mounting controls do not work. I am concerned about the safety of this airbag situation. I did contact Volkswagen group of America and the have communicated that they would not repair the vehicle as it is not under warranty or part of a recall (case number 180447041). I did learn that there was a similar recall for the same make, model vehicle that I have (recall # 15v-483), however, my specific vehicle serial number is not included. All indications show that this is a known issue and defect and I would expect this should be fixed do to the history and risk of this issue with the clockspring/airbag.
My vehicle was a part of the vehicles that had the clockspring recall. I took it to a vw dealership to have the recall fixed and exactly one year after they 'fixed' the clockspring, it ceased to work again. Now the airbag warning light is on, the horn does not work, and neither do any of the steering wheel controls. Vw refuses to fix the issue without a charge of upwards of $500, stating that because it is not apart of the initial recall it is not their responsibility.
When I went to start the car the air bag warning light came on and stated "error". All the functions on the steering wheel would not work, this included the horn, cruise control, radio system and air bag. I was afraid that either the air bag could just go off or would not go off if I got into an accident. I also could not use my horn in case of an emergency situation. The vehicle had to be repaired. Sunrise Volkswagen in lynbrook,NY replaced the clock spring.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated while driving. The contact was concerned for her safety that the air bag might deploy and taken the vehicle to joseph Volkswagen of cincinnati dealer, where it was diagnosed that the curtain air bags needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired of NHTSA campaign number:18v247000 (air bag). In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel seized when attempted to drive. The vehicle was towed to joseph Volkswagen of cincinnati dealer, located at 3813 montgomery rd, cincinnati, OH 45212, (513) 914-1785, but was not diagnosed or repaired due to the repair fees. Had a clockspring failure in 2012 Passat, causing air bag warning light, and failure of all steering wheel controls. Have noted recall for this item for cars produced just prior to mine based on VIN sequence. Vw apparently did not correct the issue in production because I have had the exact issue covered in the recall, yet my car is not covered. Cost was over $600 for repair. The recall should be expanded based on these failures and what I have seen on repeat failures after the recall was done on many cars. It should be obvious that their initial fix is not a true fix for the issue.
A 2013 Volkswagen Passat, on January 7the airbag warning light came on and "error: airbag" warning was displayed. The horn no longer works and the buttons around the steering wheel are inoperable. The vehicle was taken to vw in findlay, OH where it was diagnosed that the takaka airbag recall was in effect for this vehicle and that recalled part was replaced. However the steering wheel makes a clicking noise when it is turned, the buttons around the steering wheel are still not working and the airbag warning light and "error:airbag" warning is still on.
Twice the clock spring has broken and had to be replaced. My vehicle was not identified under the 2015 clock spring recall. I bought the vehicle new, first replacement at approx 60,000 miles in December 2014, second replacement at 119,000 miles today. The vehicle is less than 6 years old. 5 times (including clock spring repair) I have taken the vehicle in for repair due to warning light indicators.
Takata recall. I had the airbag repair done under the original recall. The repair failed causing the air bag warning light to illuminate and all of the device controls on the steering wheel to stop working, so I brought it to the vw dealer to have it repaired and was told that it was not covered by the original recall and the repair cost me over $500. I did contact vw directly as did the service representative at the dealership that did the repair. . . We were both told that the repair was not covered.
Takata recall: I phoned vw customer care on 08/10/2016 requesting a recall letter but never received it. I reported this to jonathan bradley/hallmark vw used car salesman. I reported to gossett vw service agent jeff who said my recall date was 09/30/2017. 08/25/2017 airbag warning light flashed this one time. The low tire indicator came on 09/13/2017 so I drove to gossett to have my tires inflated. The technician did not re-set the indicator in the glove compartment per jennifer osbourn/servide agent as it was locked. When I drove the car again on 09/16/17 the abs, traction control, seat belt pretensior & low tire indicator light illuminated. Got appointment on 09/22/17 to have their work inspected. I also asked for authorization to repair the takata airbag. On 09/22/17 gossett refused to touch the car unless I paid them $140. 00 diagnostic fee. Following the diagnostic I was told it would cost another $140. 00 to clean dirt from the short to the passenger seat sensor. No problems existed prior to the 09/13/ visit to inflate the tires. Total paid was $340. 41. Following this visit the re-set is inoperable, the low tire indicator, seat belt, airbag and traction control lights come on and off each time the vehicle is turned on and flash in and out during driving. The esp/abs light in the middle panel on the dash comes on, the fuel filler flap door is malfunctioning in the reverse order for this year vehicle, error airbag and error esp/abs warnings come on. On 09/22/17 my vehicle was returned with broken off part # vw 8e038813348e>abs< front passenger floor. Reported via mail toal gossett/ceo, vw customer care live chat, telephone to jennifer osborn/service agent, dwayne hill/service manager gossett germantown. Tuesday, 10/17/I received a call from jason tripp but have not been able to make contact with him to date.
Takata recall. Purchased a 2012 vw Passat on 08/07/2015. Was not aware of the recall until the salesman made a follow-up courtesy call to me on 08/08/2016. He was advised I never received a letter. I phoned vw customer care, verified my address and requested a letter from them after renewing my registration but never received a recall letter to this day. August 25, 2017 the airbag warning light came on. September 13, 2017 the low tire indicator light came on. I took my vehicle to gossett vw, had the tires inflated and when I drove the vehicle two days later the abs/traction control/tire pressure/ and seatbelt lights were continually flashing. I spoke to an advocate via chat on vw's seb site. She authorized the airbag repair on 09/22/2017. I paid approximately $341. 00 to resolve the problem with the warning lights but to date, 09/27/2017 the problem persists. The dealership did not respond to my complaint and the file was closed on 09/25/2017. I phoned customer care earlier today, Wednesday, 09/27/2017 and reopened the case. My vehicle only had 38,415 miles on it. The repair report according to service agent j. O. Claimed they found a short to the passenger occupant sensor causing the abs light, tire light, and traction light. Correction: repaired short and cleaned right rear speed sensor and bearing. On 09/22, the bottom driver takata airbag was performed. Not only are the same lights alarming each time I turn on the vehicle, but this morning the esp error light flashed. Vw customer care was advised and reopened the complaint. Following the service visit I discovered a broken part with vw # 8e0. 881. 348. E on the right floor mat of the car. This is alarming. I was advised an advocate from vw corporate should be calling me in response to this horrific ordeal. These incidences occurred 2 weeks after the certified pre- owned warranty expired. Never had any problems with the vehicle before this. I am a senior citizen who is extremely alarmed with this matter.
Takata recall, my airbag warning light has come on and I've been told the clock spring are messed up. This car is 2 years old and $120 is what vw charges to diagnose the problem then will decide what portion I should pay according to the service dept. Manager at village vw in chattanooga, TN. I was told it is warranted for 36,000 miles. I'm assuming that these are "all" messed up after going to a couple of websites and reading about the problems hundreds of others are having. . There has been no accident but I am concerned for my daughters safety driving with these lethal airbags. I was told this occurs quite often and occasionally vw will partially reimburse for this part as they have not decided (or been forced) to recall this yet. This is a defective part and should be examined closer for a recall and immediate repair. Charging $120 to reset the light is not a n adequate solution.
Airbag warning lights came on with a statement about faulty airbag . . . Epc warning lights came on first when vehicle was in motion. Vehcle was stopped. On re-start, air bag warning lights came on. Vehicle was iddling and stationary.

"takata recall" I have had my Volkswagen Passat since may of 2015, since then my journey as a customer has been frustrating and a very scary experienced. Once I got the car within a week I took it to mechanics to get the usual diagnostics done to ensure the safety of the car. It automatically had the tire warning light on till date after tire changes, diagnostics, and timely services. My car's steering control has been a very big issue, turning and the performance of the vehicle ended up to be very unsafe as if I will lose control of the car one day. I have gone to get wheel alignments, tire changes, arm control changes and other several remedies that always tend to resolve in the same issue within weeks. I have put $1000 within the last 4 months and I have still a car that is going to fall apart very soon. I am also experiencing the air bag signal being off every time I enter my car and I am driving. As a young mother and student, I have found this car to have too many issues and every unreliable. To have entered my VIN in the recall system and realizing that my car has a rotating clock issue with no remedy has had me very worried, and I am afraid to drive my children in a vehicle that has no safety features that are due to fail in case of an emergency. I in some unsafe weather conditions pay for mta or cab services to get to locations safely. To have a remedy that is unfound as of yet puts my family and myself in harms way.
