The vehicle involved was a 1998 Chevrolet K1500. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 1GCEK19R6W_. Vehicle was parked in driveway and noticed markings on the lower a frame. Also, noticed rubbed marks on the inner tire. Contacted the dealer to have it serviced. If turning right, left tire would be coming inwards. But instead of stopping at a certain point it keeps rubbing the frame. It was Tuesday, October 5, 1999 when this tire marking issue happened.

Tire Marking problem of Chevrolet Blazer
The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Chevrolet Blazer is 1GNDT13W71_. The vehicle was a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. The vehicle has fate range runner ht tires, size 235/75r15 (na). The contact discovered that the dot number had been mechanically removed from all four tires when he had them rotated and balanced. He intends to call the dealer and the manufacturer as soon as possible. The current mileage was 101,886 and failure mileage was 101,851. This tire marking problem happened on 04/20/2008.

Tire Marking problem of Dodge Ram 1500
Crash was involved with the Dodge Ram 1500. Two years ago I totaled a Dodge Ram 1500 srt-10. Only days before the wreck that could have taken my life, I purchased new tires for that vehicle. Laden with company supplies, the rear end of the vehicle suddenly spun out of control at 65 mph. I flipped 8 times, landing on the roof 3 times and was lucky to walk away. As I mentioned, it has been two years since this accident. Why is it now I become, by my own merits,aware of the NHTSA recall affecting that exact issue. The failure of the responsible company to notify me of this document recall, however slight, could have cost me my life. The ensuing financial repercussions from that accident will never be remedied. I was found at fault for the accident and it makes me furious and sad that no one ever mentioned the possibility of my innocence within this information. This issue happened on Monday, November 14, 2005.

Tire Marking problem of Dodge Grand Caravan
The vehicle involved is a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. The VIN of this Grand Caravan is 1B4GP44R2Y_. I own a 2000 Dodge caravan grand sport. I have four (4) winterforce m&s tires. I'm not sure but this may be the third or fourth winter they have been on the car. While coming home Saturday evening at about 6:00pm with my wife and child, I turned left into my road, cider mil rd, from route 316, traveling about 15 - 20 mph, when my right front tire "blew out" with a large noise and immediately went flat. It totally compromised my steering. I managed to limp it into cider mill rd. When I removed the tire I found a complete tear from the bead to the top of the tread on the inside of the tire. The tire information is; winterforce m&s, dot vn6v, w63, 1403, a03d, 215/65r/16, 358036xbm29362-2, made in canada. Their was no debris in the road and it was a clear evening. There are no obvious markings/defects showing on the tire. The inflation on the other tires is ok. I have not had a problem with this tire. This tire marking issue occurred Sat., Mar. 27, 2010.

Tire Marking problem of Ford F-250
The car involved was a 2002 Ford F-250. VIN of the vehicle was 3FTNW21L81_. Valve stem on left rear tire of Ford f250 failed. Failure occurred while entering parking lot so speed was less than 10 mph. Temp was around 108. Tire replaced with full size spare. Tire was a michelin xradial lt lt265/75r16. Marking on valve stem was tr 600. It was 07/09/08 when this tire marking issue occurred.

Tire Marking problem of Ford F-250
The car involved was a 2001 Ford F-250. Concerning tread separation on uniroyal liberator a/t lt 265/75r16 tire purchased from walmart on 092007,approx. 36,000 miles on tire. Used on 2001 Ford F-250,diesel, rear wheel drive. The tire has dot marking as follows: dot bfw8 c62u 0807, e range rated. On March 23 2011 while driving at 65 mph I felt bad vibration and when safe, pulled off roadway to find the right rear tire to have a bulge on tread and side wall distortion. I have had this same failure from cooper tires which caused loss of control and destruction to quarter panel. I changed the tire and later (03302011) contacted uniroyal who opened a file based on my phone number(281-585-6348). Uniroyal claims no recall nor do they acknowledge any similar complaints on this tire. I have 3 of these tires and have safety concerns on the 2-remaining tires in use. At times I pull an RV or a boat and must have an assurance that these tires will be safe to use. It was Wed., Mar. 23, 2011 when this tire marking issue happened.

Tire Marking problem of Acura TL
The car is a 2000 Acura Tl. The VIN of this vehicle was 19UUA5667Y_. Bridgestone potenza g009 205/60r16. Catastrophic tire / sidewall failure. Tread/belts separated from sidewall. Tire pressure properly maintained. Treadware remaining was 7/32. Tires rotated every 5000 miles. Other markings on tire: l08r and 37224 GX bh32688. Made in USA. This problem occurred on December 29, 2010.

Tire Marking problem of Mazda RX8

Tire Marking problem of Nissan Pathfinder
The vehicle was a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. Driving on parkway, tire blew out causing ~ $3,000 body damage by the ripping rubber. No accident occurred. Tow was necessary. My complaint is that the tire did not show the "indicator marking" of wear, nor were the treads bare. The make, model and numbers are identical to 2 other complaints I quickly reviewed on this site. Tire Marking problem of Subaru Impreza
The car involved was a 2007 Subaru Impreza. The following was sent to bridgestone via email
this is to inform bridgestone tire of a catastrophic sidewall blowout that occurred on a bridgestone potenza tire on July 25, 2008. The blowout occurred at the start of a cross country trip on interstate 40 heading towards memphis, TN. The car is a 2007 Subaru Impreza purchased new in September 2007 and had
approximately 6500 miles on it at the start of the trip. The markings on the tire are as follows:

the sidewall blowout occurred to the left rear tire. Prior to the start of the trip the car had a tune-up at an authorized Subaru service
dealer. When the blowout occurred the car was pulled off to the side of the road and the tire was changed using the provided spare tire that comes with the car. The car was then driven to the nearest tire service company which was wal mart tire and lube in savannah, TN. Store # 0268 175 j. I. Bell lane, savannah, TN 38372. (731) 925 3020. The car's official mileage as recorded on the odometer and noted on the service
invoice was 6824 miles. Damage to the tire was two tears - one approximately two inches long and another one approximately 6 inches long on the sidewall half way up between the inner rim and the edge of the tire. The damaged tire is at my home address and is available for inspection. The tire was replaced at a cost of $98. 25. Invoice # 77525. At this time I expect bridgestone to reimburse me for the cost of the tire in the amount of $98. 25. Provide a new tire of equal value to match the remaining 3 tires and inspect the remaining three tires for any potential possibilities of having a sidewall blowout. If there is a possibility of a sidewall blowout occurring in any of the three remaining tires I would want them replaced. A copy of this letter has been sent to the dot. David haber. It was Friday, Jul. 25, 2008 when this tire marking issue occurred.

Tire Marking problem of Toyota RAV4
The vehicle involved is a 2005 Toyota Rav4. I purchased a 2005 Rav4 2 wheel drive, 5 speed, in December 2005. The exact date, I am not sure of in that the issue is ongoing. I first noticed the oe (toyo tranpath a14 215/70r16 99s m-s) tires by toyo were loosing traction when going around corners, I attributed that to the new auto and was more careful until I got used to it. I was coming home one day and proceeded onto a freeway onramp. The roads were wet but not excessive. I made the turn onto the ramp shifted and the accelerated, I found at that time the tires were loosing traction, so I backed off the accelerator. I am also finding on ribbed freeways that the car will not track. I recently wnet to the dealer and explained what was happening. From here it is an ongoing process of dealer telling me talk to Toyota and Toyota saying talk to toyo. During my numerous conversations with toyo, I was told that the tires were graded 300 bb. I asked if this was problem, "I don't know" my last conversation with toyo I asked if the tire is bb why does my tire say aa. Thye needed to research and not to my amazement they told me that the tire was an aa and they just found out. They further stated the tire used to be bb but in 2001 was upgraded to aa. "miscommunication from toyo japan to them. How many people have to be injured etc. This tire marking problem happened on Jan. 9, 2005.

Tire Marking problem of Toyota Camry
The car was a 2004 Toyota Camry solara. Bridgestone potenza re-92 p215-60r16 m&s. This tire has been mistakenly classified as a mud & snow tire. In my 35 years of driving, I have never driven on such a dangerous tire that was classified m&s. Any snow whatsoever makes the vehicle(2004 Toyota solara se) extremely difficult to control safely. I have no problem with the tire being used solely as a non-winter tire, but for NHTSA to allow the m&s designation on this tire is tantamount to gross negligence. If you think that I am alone in my observation on this tire, then please see website 1010tires. Com and read the numerous customer reviews about how dangerous these tires are in snow. I respectfully ask you to please investigate this tire classification. This problem occurred on Thursday, January 15, 2004.

Tire Marking problem of Volvo XC90
The vehicle is a 2003 Volvo Xc90. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is YV1CZ91H23_. Maximum tire pressure discrepancy between tire manufacturer and the tire pressure used by the vehicle manufacturer. The michelin pilot hxmxm4 (235/60-18) which are the default 18" tires on the Volvo Xc90 from the factory has a max 35psi while other tires of the same size has upto 51psi max. The vehicle manufacturer recommends 39psi for full loads which is above the max psi. Contacted michelin customer service 1-800-847-3435 directly to inquire. Their response was "the wrong tire was installed. " still waiting for a response from Volvo. So far no official word from either. No one seems to be aware of this discrepancy but we run the risk of over-inflating or under-inflating which is huge safety hazard. The failure date was August 25, 2003.
