The vehicle involved was a 2005 Chrysler town and country. When I had my tires rotated on my 2005 Chrysler t&c at 18,000 miles they said I had radial pull. Chrysler didn't suggest to replace tires, so I rotated them at 23,000 miles and still had the same result. Now they say I should replace them to correct the pull. I don't think tires should wear out at 24,000 while they have plenty of tread left. The tires are bridgestone turanza el42. It was Tuesday, July 19, 2005 when this tire tread/belt issue occurred.

My wife was driving my 2005 GMC Yukon denali xl when both the passenger tires went flat. We put air in the tires and drove home. The next morning only the front passenger tire was flat so I used my compressor to air the tire up and went to firestone to have it checked out. When firestone removed the tire and looked at it, they found multiple split on the inside of the tire. So I had them check all the tires and each one had the same problems. I have replaced all four tires now but someone has sold a bad tire and I want them recalled and also my money back. This tire tread/belt problem happened on 12/27/2007.

While driving on I-81. I heard a brief, unusual sound inside my Honda Odyssey, then the left rear tire suffered an immediate catastrophic failure. The tire tread just peeled off the tire. Fortunately the tire did not deflate. I was able to safely park off the interstate and call for assistance. The van sustained significant body damage from the tire thread debris. I was towed to the nearest Honda dealer. They had to replace both rear tires with another brand because they did not sell toyo and it was after 6 p. M. They also were able to make the van safe for highway travel by removing broken body parts and securing other body components that allowed me to continue my journey back home without any further incidents. . . . . The vehicle involved is a 2005 Hyundai Tucson. Purchased this vehicle in 10/05 and have been very pleased with until recently. Got a card in the mail for a free 34 point inspection from the dealership, and decided on April 5, 2007 to use it. During inspection nothing was brought to my attention. Then this week on may 8, 2007 the check engine"light came on. Took vehicle back to dealer for check. I was advised that some valve was bad and they replaced it, but by the way, you need 4 new tires and an alignment right away. Recently while driving in the rain I had noticed that the vehicle was all over the place, hydroplaning. I felt very unsafe and glanced at my tires. Strange enough, all 4 tires were evenly worn out and near completely bald. Did I mention that I only had 27,000 miles on them ,and I have not been anywhere but regular streets. But not being the tire expert I took the dealership at their word and assumed all was well. So, a bit annoyed on may 8,2007 I decided to look up my warranty paperwork. How ironic! there were two pamphlets for tires in my little handy little Hyundai owner's pack. One for these great 60,000 mile good year tires,, and then the other for the hankook, kumho tires that just happened to have only a 24,000 mile warranty, and happened to be the ones that had apparently been put on my car. So, not only losing a customer to a sneaky bait and switch tactic during the sale of the lx model Tucson, the dealership and the tire maker put my safety at risk and tried to blame it on a poor alignment. I may be a woman, and one that didn't know a lot about cars, but I did know that if a vehicle was out of alignment all fours tires weren't worn evenly and completely bald after an inspection that took place just a month prior, yet wasn't mentioned . I was still pleased with tuscon, but very angry with dealership tactics. It was Sunday, April 8, 2007 when this tire tread/belt issue occurred.

The car was a 2001 Infiniti Qx4. Purchased (4) pirelli str-a' s from the tire rack. They were installed by merchants tire. The first location didn't charge me because the couldn't get the tires to balance. The second location found one tire wavy and each tire took from 4. 5 to 8 oz of weight. I still had a vibration in the seat of the vehicle. The tire rack would not replace more than one tire at a time. Replaceing one tire took care of the vibration. I returned for the first rotation and balance, merchants said that they would not put the rear tires on the front because each tire has 8 oz's of weight. I told them to do it anyway because I had to follow pirelli's requirements of rotation. Are these tires heading for self destruction with this much weight??? I have e-mailed pirelli, but no one replied. It was Sunday, December 26, 2004 when this tire tread/belt issue happened.

I own a 2006 Jeep Wrangler x with 9,060 miles. I have goodyear GS-a tires. I am replacing my second tire on the Jeep in less than two years. This tire has a "sidewall failure" and must be replaced. I also have owned a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. I put 24,000 miles on that car but had to replace 3 goodyear tires similar to the GS-a's. The latest incident involving my Jeep and goodyear tires transpired two days ago. I noticed the tire was losing air before I got behind the wheel. Considering I was about to drive on a highway, it may have been recipe for disaster. I put air back into the tire and was able to drive to a sears automotive center. The mechanics informed me that the tire had a "sidewall failure" and was unfixable. Sears did state that the tires had little to no wear on them and were "like new". I contacted goodyear pertaining to the issues. The customer service representative was not entirely helpful. I gave my history with the goodyear tires and the Jeep Wrangler to goodyear. I was told to seek a second opinion by goodyear. I had another goodyear retailer look at the tire with the same result. I contacted goodyear again. Goodyear was quite unhelpful and I felt "blown off". I sincerely have a concern that every time I get in my Jeep one of my tires may become damaged. Jeep Wranglers are an SUV, so the chances of rollover are higher. The first tire that went on my current 2006 Jeep Wrangler almost cased me to spin out in the middle of a busy intersection. That incident transpired in September of 2006. I am hoping that this complaint will inspire some sort of investigation into the product, goodyear did not seem interested in doing so. Everywhere you look there are Jeep Wranglers on the road, many of them with these same goodyear GS-a tires. That is a large number of people potentially at risk, along with those who may be traveling at the same time. Thank you for your time, I honestly hope this can be addressed and approached for the potentially serious manner that it is. The failure date was Tuesday, November 6, 2007.

The car was a 2001 Lincoln Town Car. New delta sierra dial tires purchased 06-04-04 for professional delivery vehicle. At 4,644 miles right rear tire tread totally separated while in route with client on freeway causing loss of control of vehicle, blowout, and extensive damage (approx $4,000. 00) to livery vehicle. Yokohama tire corp asked for tire and denied liability although offered "good will" offer of $2,000 within days. Product liability manager anne stott indicated a road hazard caused separation, not defect, and said a rock the size of her hand could have caused this. Husband kevin burns is only driver of vehicle and never recalled any such hazard or incident. His driving record is impeccable (over 35 years, professional driver total of 12 years) and kevin takes exceptional care of his vehicles. If only a rock like ms. Stott said did this we feel there is a serious lack of quality control in manufacturer's standards. There are other such complaints in file. If it were not for kevin's excellent driving skills (per client inside vehicle during incident) there most certainly would have been a serious accident with injuries. Collision center manager expressed concern to replace remaining 3 delta sierradial tires on car due to safety issues especially as we carry people for hire in our business. This problem occurred on Wed., Jul. 28, 2004.

The vehicle involved was a 2005 Nissan Titan. The VIN of the car is 1N6BA06A15_. Noticed road noise that increased with mileage. Then slight vibration over time. Had tire rotations by oil changers and dealership. They noticed nothing about tires. When condition got more noticeable,I went to 2 tire shops. They first told me that I needed to go to a goodyear shop because I have tire separation. The second was a goodyear store that told me that I had tread separation and twisted belts which were manufactured during the strike at goodyear and made by office personnel. Since this was clearly a defective tire, in my eyes, I felt that goodyear should be responsible for the expense of new tires. The goodyear shop stated that they will submit this as road noise and get a minimum l refund back to help offset the cost of new tires that I must buy at the tune of $700. 00. Of course we didn't want to put the same tire back on the truck. Also these tires had 26,300 miles on them. I have done nothing except check pricing at other tire places to see if I am getting any discount at all. Totally frustrated I felt that goodyear should pay for these tires to be replaced. Also they of course will charge all their other charges, balance, tire disposals, tire charges, balance. Even though clearly this is a goodyear fiasco. I was certain that this was happening all over the country, especially since the goodyear shop knew all about this defect. This problem occurred on Sat., May. 19, 2007.

Toyota Sienna. Consumer writes in regards to problems with dunlop run flat tires. The consumer stated as she was driving down the road, all of a sudden the ride became bumpy and the low pressure tire light illuminated. She found a gas station with an air compressor, but to no avail. The consumer then found a second and a third place, but at that point there seemed to be a problem with the valve on the tire. When she arrived home, she used her own compressor and realized air was come out as fast as it was pumping in. The consumer went to walmart and when the tire and rim were removed, it was discovered the belt in the tire had slipped and ripped right through the outside tire wall, for the third time. The car was a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg. The tires on my 2005 toureg have excessive wear due to the weight of the vehicle and the pirelli tire used. This was fixed on the 2006 touregs however the 2004 and 2005 have the wrong tires spec and the tires could blow out prematurely causing a person to lose control and roll their vehicle. I have contacted vw and pirelli with no success in getting my tires replaced under any type of warranty claim because they are original equipment tires. I only have approx 20,000 miles on these tires. I was also instructed today that I could pay for the entire replacement of all four tires and then I would receive a warranty on them. It was Thursday, July 20, 2006 when this tire tread/belt issue occurred.

The VIN of the problem Xc90 is YV4CY59256_. On January 29, 2007 I took my 2006 Volvo Xc90 2wd to the Volvo dealer for the 15,000 mile scheduled service to include the scheduled tire rotation and balance. The car had 14,764 miles. The service advisor called later in the day to state that (1) I needed front brake pads, and (2) needed four new tires because the original equipment tires were completely worn out. When I asked why those items were needed, he told me (1) the front brake pads wear early because they aren't large enough to support the weight of the car, and (2) the original 17" pirellii scorpion zero tires are a performance tire and "too soft" for the vehicle and thus wear out prematurely. He estimated I had about 1 or 2 mm of tread left, and advised me not to drive in the rain. I spoke to the Volvo dealer service manager the same day who said he would look into getting me 4 new tires free from pirelli as a one-time "goodwill" gesture. On January 30, 2007, the Volvo service manager called to say that because my car was under 15,000 miles pirelli had agreed to replace all 4 tires free. The 17" tires needed to be ordered and would arrive in 4-6 weeks. The service manager assured me that my car was safe to drive until the new tires were installed. On March 18, 2007 I noticed that the tread had completely worn away on both back tires, and belt is showing through. On March 19, 2007 I called the Volvo dealer to find out what was the status of my new pirelli tires and was told that there were no 17" pirelli tires in stock, and they had to be special ordered. I told the service scheduler that the car is undrivable because the tires are completely bald. I am still waiting for the Volvo dealer to call me back. The failure date was Jan. 29, 2006.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was YV4CY59216_. 2006 Volvo Xc90 tires - pirelli scorpion zero 104h tire tread wore very early. Tires had 15,000 miles on them with one tire less than 3/32's tread left. Volvo was aware of this early tread wear problem as early as may 2006. In the three weeks we had to wait for our replacement tires the one tire had almost no tread left. We purchased the car July 2006 with the "defective tires" still on the car. If Volvo knew of the tread wear problem in may 2006, why didn't the consumers?. This problem occurred on Apr. 5, 2007.
