My car would shimmy as if the tie rod was going bad, and the tire in question would be flat nearly every morning. After a couple of days I made it to hartington, ne to the nearest Chevrolet dealer. Upon inspection they told me that I was very lucky to have made it there because the belts separated on the inside of the tire where I would have never seen what was happening. Both front tires were replaced at great expense. I now have hankook tires and will never again buy goodyear tires after this incident. The failure date was 03/27/2014.

The car was a 2012 Chrysler town and country. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 2C4RC1BG8C_. I leased a new van on 5/10/12. In the summer of 2013 I was informed by independent tire company that my tires were in very bad shape, and I was going to need new ones. I contacted dealership because tires should not have to be replaced after 18,000 miles. I was told to bring vehicle in and they would check it out. Unfortunately, I work full time and was not able to take car in without a loaner vehicle (which they would not provide). When winter hit, the tire issue became very noticeable, as my vehicle has no traction whatsoever. When I took it in for an oil change I spoke with the service guy about it. He encouraged me to bring it in as soon as my schedule allowed it. In the meantime, I did research on these tires and found many stories of abnormal wear at a fraction of the lifespan of the tire. I contacted the service department and was told they would not warranty the tires because tires are excluded. My neighbor had the same problem with his tires after 17,000 and the dealership told him that they were aware of the tires, but to replace them on so many vehicles would be too expensive. This tire issue occurred 08/01/13.

Tire problem of Dodge Ram 2500
The car is a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 3B7KC23C92_. In December,2011, I purchased 2 equalizer sport a/p tires. In August 2013 , one of them had a tread separation, which I caught and replaced it before a bigger problem. In March, 2014 the tread of the second tire came off completely without warning. It damaged my vehicle. We were fortunate that my wife and I were not hurt as we were towing a 12,000 pound 5th wheel RV. Further information will be about the second incident. The car was a 2004 Ford E-450. Bfg commercial t/a tire (215/85 r16) blew out and had total tread separation causing some vehicle damage. Tire was under 5 years old per dot date code, under 15k miles, had good tread, no indication of damage. No known impact with any road debris, blow out occurred while traveling under 55 mph. Very little warning, just slight feeling of misbalance before tire exploded. Tires had been checked for proper inflation 2-3 days before. Tires were visually inspected during travel - no signs of over/under inflation. The failure date was 05/11/14.

The car involved was a 2005 GMC Yukon denali xl. The VIN of the problem Yukon is 1GKFK66U95_. Michelin ltx m/s p235/55r20 tires. All four tires are losing air (filled with nitrogen). Owner consistently have to take to costco to inflate tires to correct air pressure. The side walls show excessive cracks. Tires tread very good. Warranty will not address my concern. Vehicle is only use for long distance traveling. Dot info on tires: rear b39y 56ex 2511 and front b79y 4fjx 1609/0000. Michelin recall is only on one size tire: lt 225/75r16. Owner suspects other size tires manufactured during the same time period of 0210-2512 are affected also. This problem occurred on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

The car involved is a 2006 Infiniti G35. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was JNKCV54E86_. I contacted michelin per the NHTSA and I did not receive a satisfactory response. My car tires were examine by third party prior to the incident. The service station owner noticed all four tires were dry rotten. He told me I should return them to place of purchase. My vehicle suffering total tire failure. I have occurred about 700. 00 in personal costs and I am still on three bad tires. Michelin stated that I needed to have my insurance company file the claim. That is not correct. They will not file for my personal costs involve and will not seek payment from michelin. It was 11/20/12 when this tire issue happened.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2014 Kia Motor Sorento. 2014 kia sorrento. Consumer writes in regards to the driver seat, accelerator and brake pedal issues. The consumer stated the very large seats were a problem for her, as they were hard to adjust. The distance between the driver's seat and the accelerator pedal, in the most forward and highest seat position, was so great, she was only able to engage the pedals with her toes. The consumer stated she could barely see the hood and couldn't see or distance the front of the vehicle. Therefore, she was forced to use both a manufacturer's vehicle seat cushion and a thick chair cushion underneath that, to be able to raise her body up and closer to the dash. Also, there was and continues to be a subtle, chirping, rhythmic sound coming from the driver's side front tire or wheel well. The service technician stated he did not hear a noise. The traction light illuminated. The consumer discovered the tires had no traction, as they did not grip the road properly. She was informed the tires were inferior, so she was forced to purchase 4 new winter tires at a cost of $ 657. 18. Updated 04/21/14. This problem occurred on 04/01/14.

The car involved was a 2011 Mazda Mazda3. The VIN of the problem Mazda3 is JM1BL1M69B_. 3 miles from home the front tire on our Mazda3 came apart in 3 full pieces, two side walls and the center, causing $1800 in damage. I returned the tire to yokohama tire corp. Because of the damage, they said it was not the tires fault, they called it a run flat and that they would not pay for the damages. So while the car was at the body shop I had four new tires installed ,not yokohama tires. Also the adjuster for my insurance company, said that he never seen a tire separate like that. This tire problem happened on 08/18/13.

The car was a 2008 Mercedes Benz S550. Michelin pilot sport a/s plus 255/45zr18 99y as+ installed on 2008 mercedes S550. Tires tread is "chunking" with 18,000 miles of use. Purchased from costco. I have contacted costco. Was told it was "normal", complained it cannot be, we negotiated back and forth on an adjustment. It wasn't satisfactory. I was offered for a discount price the "new" version of the tire, I. E. Pilot sport a/s 3. I have read the other complaints on NHTSA site. They are similar to mine. I spoke to 4 different costco employees, three different michelin yet, I could not fine anyone at costco or michelin that can assure me with an official michelin statement the the problem has been corrected with the new pilot sport 3. I will not pay to have new tires installed at a discount and have the same thing happen again. These tires are a potential safety hazard. This tire problem happened on Mar. 14, 2014.

The vehicle is a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis. I purchased a set of bridgestone insignia se200 5/2013 . 4months later I replaced 1 tire due to side wall splitting. Today 12/14/13 I replaced the tire that I bought in 9/13 for the same problem. I contacted bridgestone via email but got no responds I contacted them by phone they told me there was reason for me to be concerned about the tire failures I had experienced even though 40 % of the tires had purchased this year. 3,000 miles on first tire even less on the second tire ,the tire dealer contacted bridgstone and replaced the tire with a firestone tire since bridgestone no longer maker the insignia and he did not want to use another insignia because of what he felt was a manufacturing defect that had been seen in the insignias and other tires that bridgstone makes some of witch have already recalled I will keep a close eye on rest of tires. In my 40 years of driving this is by far the worst set of tires I have ever owned . Bridgestone should do the right thing and recall this tire before a tire failure causes a fatal injury to some one . But I am sure because of the lack of responce and unconcern of the people that I had spoke to at bridgestone . My local tire dealer is send my failed tire to bridgestones tech's lets see what they have to say. This problem occurred on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

Tire problem of Mercury Montego
2 years ago I purchased 4 michelin latitude tires (65,000 mile tires) for my 2006 Mercury Montego. On Wednesday (9-25-13) I went to the dealer (discount tires) for a tire rotation. I was told the rotation could not be done because the tires were unsafe. The dealers description was a cracking issue. What really has happened is the rubber thread is coming off the core of all 4 tires (24,000 miles). Because of this unsafe condition, I purchased 4 new tires and the dealer adjusted the price based on thread wear. As a consumer I should not have to pay for an unsafe manufacturing defect. I noticed that michelin has previously recalled the latitude tires for SUV's and small trucks. I think this should be recalled for passenger cars since this is an unsafe situation and has occurred on all 4 of my tires. This issue happened on Sep. 25, 2013.

Tire problem of Mitsubishi Galant
The vehicle was a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant. The VIN of this Galant is 4A3AA46H33_. April 11, 2014 I was traveling up 85 north to atlanta between 9:30 pm & 10:00pm. Just outside of macon county on mile marker 45 there was a car speeding in the work zone where signs were up saying unleveled road. I exchanged lanes to the right side which was the paved side and came near the bridge and hit a hard bump which made my car hop up and slam down hard. I had to pull over and stop because my tires were smoking. My strut bottomed out and was sitting on my tire making it not drivable because the tires were rubbing against the strut. Two other cars hit the same bump including the state trooper that came to assist me. I called my insurance but the couldn't pinpoint where I was. So I ended up calling the state trooper and had to pay out of the pocket for towing back to montgomery. There were no signs or cones in the road to notify that there was a rough bump in the road. I need help with this cause I spent money on this damage and feel useless because of a bump that disable my only car for work. It was 04/11/14 when this tire issue happened.

Upon inspection, the contact noticed the driver side rear tire had tread separation. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and the tire was replaced. The contact also mentioned that recently, the front passenger side tire had tread separation. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic who confirmed the failure and stated that the tire needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The tire manufacturer was notified. This tire issue occurred November 6, 2012.

The tire that I believe is faulty, ran low on air for a little while, then I aired it up - everything was fine until I tried to go into town one evening and it felt like I was riding on my rim. It sounded awful. Once I was stopped at a street light, I opened my car door and there were pieces of tire just sitting underneath my car and under the tire. So I finally pulled into a gas station, sure enough, I was riding my rim. I came to conclusion that my tire was debeading, and I was sold a possible faulty tire. This problem occurred on 02/20/2014.

I was driving my 1997 Sc Saturn north bound FL turnpike when the road felt really bumpy and suddenly the engine electrical (cables/wires)components flew & splash against the windshield blocking my view, "OH my god" I immediately eage to the left shoulder, got out of the vehicle to assess the situation, contacted geico road service. Apparently, as the tire began to fail the steel belts from the tire destroyed the inner fender, the outer fender and ripped out the main wiring harness that provided power to all electrical components inside the passenger compartment such as door locks, windows etc. It appears that the placment of this wiring harness over the front wheel should have been through the firewall and not over a wheel and with no protection. This problem occurred on Thursday, July 4, 2013.

Hello,, I have a problem with my tires,I bought a brand new 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara in 2007,I have only 26,000 miles on it, I bought it to the dealer to get a oil change. They told me I am going to need new tires in the next 3,000 miles. They came with yokohama geolander g92 tires, I called yokohama tires about six times they kept on telling me that the tires that come with this SUV don't have a warranty, they told me to go to a yokohama dealer were I live, so I went over there they told me the same thing. I pulled up on google, other people that bought similar SUV's in 2000 7/2008, had the same issues, and a lot of them had blowouts while they were driving there SUV's. Once I read them all. I made copies of the all to show you,I called yokohama tires again I told them that if I get a blowout, and get into a accident and me or my family get hurt or worse that I am going to sue them. I would like to know how the united states of America lets companies like yokohama sell products to us, and they don't care about our safety at all, I think that yokohama tire company should be banned from selling tires to the USA, I have been a firefighter for the past ten years, there is a very big safety issue that needs to be addressed, all I want is to be refunded the amount that four new tires would cost me,and that yokohama should not be selling tires in the USA, they are very unsafe tires to be on our cars, yokohama doesn't care about the safety all the people in this country, they just care about all the money they make, can you please contact me if you have any questions about this issue, thank you very much. Tire problem of Suzuki Kizashi
The car involved was a 2010 Suzuki Kizashi. Tires went bad on this car very fast. I took the car back to the dealer and they even agreed they should not have been going bald. I really did not think anything about it until I took the car elsewhere for an oil change and they told me to check into my warranty. The dealer not even rotated my tires the other place did it, I had to prove that I had them rotated which I did. Suzuki did not care. They said the tires are 24,000 mile tires!! there has got to be a reason tires go at 15000 miles this is when we notice that we were going to need tires. Watch them we always though goodyear/dunlop was a decent tire. This tire issue occurred March 20, 2012.

Inside tire wall (back driver side) separated on 04-16-14 traveling i10 west at arizona high way speed limit of 75 mph causing accident. Nothing was run over on highway. Severe, roll-over accident. Mini-van totaled. Purchased at America's tire, san ramon, CA 07-20-13. Tire had ~ 10,000 miles wear on 70,000 mile tire. Tires and pressure checked 8 days prior. Inside wall separations are extremely rare. Suspected manufacturing defect. Manufacturing quality control is not hard. Any manufacturing defect that puts human life in danger is not acceptable. Will not purchase hankook tires again. There are reported problems with inside wall cracking on the hankook optimo h725 to the national highway safety transportation administration. I had reported the problem directly to hankook. Mike noh, hankook tire, contacted me 04/21/14. He is clearly not interested in the serious nature of a potential manufacturing defect in 2 phone conversations on 04/22/14. I clearly stated several times that my intent in contacting them was from a safety perspective. Mr. Noh, from hankook tire, did not know which manufacturing plant had manufactured the tire even though I had provided the dot number or if there were other known problems with the same model number. If there had been a car next to me or a car behind me or a tree on the side of the highway, there might have been serious injuries or death with that type of inside wall tire separation. Again, let me reiterate how rare and dangerous inside tire wall separations are. There is no ability to control the vehicle in this type of situation. The vehicle jerked to the left, then jerked to the right, and then jerked to the left again before it started to spin 180 degrees and roll. There were no tell-tale warnings (rough ride) of the potential inside tire wall separation like an outside tire wall separation. A tire manufacturer who is lackadaisical about safety is deeply troubling. It was Apr. 16, 2014 when this tire issue occurred.

The VIN of this vehicle was 2T1BURHE0E_. In Dec 2013 the lease end on my 2011 Corolla was coming due so I picked up a 2014 Toyota Corolla le lease on 12/4/2013. This vehicle had 8 miles on it & was equipped with proxes 4 plus 205/55/r16 tires ( I have the id numbers from each tire if you need them). On 2/26/14 this vehicle had 492 miles on it & I noticed the left rear tire had a large odd shaped cut in it in the middle of the outside tread area. I went to suntoyota in holiday fla took pics of the tire damage & the service rep robert riegelsperger told me they didn't have a replacement tire in they would have to order one. I had purchased road hazard tire coverage at the time I leased the car & "assumed" this odd cut came from road construction in the area so I wasn't concerned. I had to leave this 2014 Corolla at dealership for a gas tank issue which was not covered under warranty so I called my insurance company put in a claim for that issue & rented a car. On 2/28/14 I went back to suntoyota to pick up my car & when I looked at the replacement tire I asked if it was 'new' & was told yes it was although it didn't appear to me it was; I am not comfortable with this dealer. Mr riegelsperger also said that fidelity warranty service wasn't happy about replacing a tire that only had 492 miles on it so we had words over that. Now on approximately 3/26/14 I noticed this replacement tire has what looks like stress line cracks straight across the width of the tire (took pics) in 2 places & car only has 644 miles on it. Obviously I am concerned about this & my safety as well as the safety of others riding near me should this tire come apart. I have looked to see if there are any issues with this tire but cannot find any recent ones. I will once again report this issue to se Toyota but I am really uncomfortable not only with the tire but definitely with this dealer & service department but need to protect my safety in the event something is wrong with these tires. 2014 Corolla's also have "design flaws". . This tire problem happened on Feb. 26, 2014.

When the vehicle was arrived and then evaluated, he was informed the tires were over 10 years old, several lights were inoperable, both fog light and left parking and turning lights did not work. There was a crack in the dashboard, the seat belt guide on the driver's seat was broken, the seats slid forward when stopping which caused him, to unexpectedly step on the accelerator the rear window was scratched and faded to zero visibility, the main speaker was blown. In addition, a manifold hose required replacement due to a leak, the keys had to be reprogrammed to unlock the doors and trunk. This problem occurred on Mar. 3, 2014.
