Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem is a common vehicle problem that happens to most car brands and models. The following is a sample list of Tire Pressure Monitoring System problems reported in most popular vehicles.
The car is a 2009 Chevrolet Impala. After getting new brakes put on my car, the low tire pressure light would come on for different tires. It was random and after checking the tire pressure they were all fine. The light is on all the time and when I check my tire pressure on the dash panel they all four read 0 tire pressure. I have to check them manually which sounds petty but I paid for this option I should be able to use it. My remote car starter doesn't work because this error message is on. I've had it reset and it comes right back on. I wad told the wheel sensors were broke when getting the brakes fixed and that they cost around $100 each. There has to be some way to make these so they don't get broken while getting normal maintenance done so I now have a huge additional cost that far exceeds the cost of getting the brakes. This tire pressure monitoring system issue occurred Fri., Jul. 19, 2013.

The vehicle involved was a 2001 Ford Windstar. I didn't have a crash I noticed that my abs brake and tire pressure light was staying on and a short time after I started hearing a loud rumbling noise in the front end every time I slow an it's impossible to make sudden stops and at times my speedometer starts flickering back and forth as well as my cruise control is currently inoperable. I have limited driving this vehicle in which I purchased due to feeling it is not in a safe manner for my children to be in. I have had several shops as well as individuals that told me these areas are common to go out on this specific vehicle and that there is possible recall. I just want to be able to drive my van with out worrying if I'm going to be able to come to a stop when needed as well as not knowing if I could possible break down or something break in the front end while I am driving at somewhat high speeds. Thank you and hope to hear from someone soon in regards to this situation!. This problem occurred on Sunday, March 16, 2014.

The car was a 2008 Infiniti Ex35. My car has 4 michelin latitude tour hp tire size p225/60r17 and tin code dot edxhn2wx4907. I had one tire replaced because it developed air loss with time. My infinity Ex35 had the light for tire pressure loss on . After this incident we re-pressurized the tire with the car?s placard specifications. Two (2) months later the light for pressure of the tire turned on again. We pressurized the tire again. Then after a week the light turned on again. We pressurized the tire again and then the next day we had a flat tire. I decided to take it to the dealer and had it replaced for another brand. After this incident the light of the pressure monitor system came on again after 2 weeks. Because of this problem we strongly believe we are having the same air loss problem with one of the other 3 michelin latitude tour tires installed in the car. We noticed 2 weeks ago that there was a recall on the michelin latitude tour line that covers various sizes and tin codes, however, the size and tin code on my michelin tires were not covered on the recall. The NHTSA campaign number is 13t006000 for this recall. I strongly believe that the manufacturer ?michelin north America? is under recall, and think more sizes of the same tire line ?latitude tour? should be included in the tire recall after reviewing several complains of the same tire brand and model. I strongly believe my tires are having and experiencing the same air loss problem due to sidewall perforation that the michelin recall reported. We think the problem reaches out to other sizes of the same type of tire that were not covered under this recall. Please conduct or initiate an investigation to whether or no the recall should be expanded to other tire sizes of the same michellin latitude tire line. There can be potentially other tires out there with the same problem as people has described on other comments for the same latitude tour michelin tires. We also noticed that there are other complaints in this website. It was May. 21, 2013 when this tire pressure monitoring system issue occurred.

The vehicle involved was a 2001 Mercury Villager. A local sears auto center sold me a set of bf goodrich tires in October, 2004 that have shown extreme pre-mature wear. The sears outlet has refused to take any action to correct this. Upon consultation with the oem, b. F. Goodrich, I should have never been sold the tire to begin with. It is not the recommended tire for my vehicle per goodrich and this is backed up when doing a web page tire selection search on the bf goodrich web page. These tires have worn 50 % at 15000 miles of use on tires rated for 60,000 miles tread life. They are an "h" rated performance tire that sears sold for my wife's Mercury Villager Mini van. . . Not exactly a high performance vehicle. Does the NHTSA have any records on file for application of a bf goodrich ta tire to a Mercury Villager Mini van where a safety occurence has happened ?
how can a retail outlet be allowed to sell tires that are not recommended by the oem for the vehicle they are being placed on. Are there government regulations meant to protect the consumer against these unfair trade practices ?
what can I do to file a formal complaint with the NHTSA to prevent this kind of misbehavior from occuring to other consumers in the future. This tire pressure monitoring system problem happened on June 21, 2005.

I have a 2010 Suzuki Sx4 and have had 2 failures of the tire pressure system monitors in less than 2 months. Both tpsm valves have fractures/cracks leading down the threading of the valve allowing air to leak. The first failure was in Dec 2011 and resulted in a flat while parked in a garage. The second failure was found when I noticed the front right tire was at 15 psi. Once again the tpsm valve was cracked length wise. There is definitely a problem it appears in the manufacturing of these valves by schrader electronics. Info on the tpsm valve:

I'm having problems getting this issue resolved by the dealership on a vehicle that is only 1 year 4 months old and I have extensive platinum warranty. This is a huge safety issue for me and my family. A sudden failure by the remaining valves could lead to serious injuries or death as was the case in 2008 tpsm valve failures. This needs to be seriously looked into closely. Note: I have had the two faulty valves removed and replaced with rubber valves in the meantime. This problem occurred on December 27, 2011.

dear Volvo cars of north America,
subject: Volvo Xc90 warranty/safety issue
I have returned my Volvo Xc90 on several occasions for electrical system related problems to include three separate incidents of the position indicator light burning out, multiple bulb failures and tire pressure system warnings. My Volvo repair shop told me that these were unrelated normal repairs and that I should not be concerned
after the latest incident of the tire system malfunction I took my vehicle to a local repair shop who troubleshoot my vehicle, put the vehicle on a lift and showed me a wiring harness that was wet from being located directly underneath the vehicles ac I believe this is a manufacturers defect. The wiring harness has already developed rust which indicates consistent water immersion and I was told this should be a cause for concern as this situation could lead to electrical system failure, shorts, shocks or vehicle fire. I am requesting that this issue be fixed and some type of warranty extension be provided to protect from any future repairs that may be caused by this defect. [xxx]

The car was a 2006 Audi A6. The VIN of this vehicle is WAUDL94F16_. New michelin tires mounted by tirerack on bbs rims. Within 10 miles, front passenger tire went flat, and upon inspection the valve ("valve #1") was found to be defective. Received new tire and new valve ("valve #2") from tirerack, which was mounted by my car dealer. After sitting for one hour, front passenger tire went flat. Upon inspection, the second new valve, valve #2, was found to be defective. That's two defective valves out of five, which does not seem to be an acceptable failure rate. This tire pressure monitoring system issue occurred Mar. 17, 2011.

The vehicle involved is a 2008 Audi Q7. I was driving at 70 mph on interstate when blowout occurred on michelin pilot sport ps2 tire with only 11,000 miles on tires. The left front tire blew. The tires had been well maintained by rotating and balancing every 3,500 miles and tire inflation properly maintained. The weather was clear and dry. I had been driving for about 2. 5 hours when the incident occurred. I was able to steer the car to the emergency lane and call for assistance to change tire to spare. Upon examination, the inside edge of the tire the steel belt came through the tire and caused blowout. The outside edge of tire did not show the wear that the inside edge showed and had not been readily noticeable upon visual inspection earlier in the day. The tires had just been rotated, balanced and aligned 1 month prior and there was a notation to monitor the tread bar as the front tires were wearing faster than the back tires (the car is all wheel drive). I had been doing a visual inspection of the tires each time I got in the car and had not noticed that the inside edge of the left front tire was wearing unevenly from the outside edge. The aaa employee who removed the tire stated that he believed that air leaked out through the steel and caused the blowout. The car has tire pressure monitoring system however never showed tire pressure loss until the blowout occurred. This tire pressure monitoring system problem happened on Friday, May. 7, 2010.

The car involved was a 2011 BMW 550i. This is the second occurrence of a sidewall bubble on my BMW goodyear excellence19" run flat tires 98 on my 2011 BMW 550i. In January 2013 at 11,000 miles my right front developed a bubble and needed to be replaced. I only noticed because my tire pressure monitor alert came on and when I took my car to have my tires checked they noticed the bubble. Now at 14,000 my left front side tire is also developing a sidewall bubble. The tires have plenty of tread and I do not abuse my car. I am very careful about avoiding potholes and drive slowly over railroad tracks. It was Thu., Aug. 25, 2011 when this tire pressure monitoring system issue happened.
