Also abs in rear shakes whole truck when going below 50mph and then continues up to 80mph before subsiding. The truck has serious steering issues constant leaks caused I'm sure my rack and pinion are worn down as well as now my tires and supension I have so many problems like the interior is crumbling to pieces the body has giant holes from improper painting options on this model I have over sized tire wells that are rusted completely out it make your company look silly for not making these vehicles better when they last people keep buying them again and again! seems like you probably use parts for many years on many models funny how every year including the year it was manufacturered there were recalls except for mine is that just because it's older.

7 Body problem of the 1997 Chevrolet S10

Failure Date: 02/03/2013

I have read of a saftey recall on this vehical with the exact description of what happened to me, I should have had plenty of distance to stop, it's only a small pick up, I know for certian I have a fully loaded work truck a Ford 3/4 ton econoline van and I know I could have stopped that vehicle in time. I was standing on the brakes, they just wouldnt do anything , in an emergency they just don't cut the mustard. I had extensive front end damage, and my neek has been not feeling good ever since. My father in law gave this truck to my wife hen he was no longer able to drive, and it was told to me he had the truck into the shop repeatedly for the same thing since it was new. Seems to me gm should make it right and the body collision, beings they have known about it and havent done squat, and pay for my pain and medical.

I never received safety recall# 06020 galvanized defective tailgate cables that snap/break due to corrosion inside the cable causing the tailgate to fall down while opened. Both my cables have been torn/broken caused by the rust thru for quit some time. My son told me recently, that he had received the recall notice a number of years ago and the chevy dealer replaced his cables; his s-10 cables are good/solid no problems. I am meticulous with records and surely would have told the dealer and had them replaced during the recall period. What should I do as I never received the recall notice at issue?.

I have an 2003 chevy S10 that doesn't even have 30,000 miles on it yet. The third door handle has broke and been replaced twice already. The incident date was the around the last time I put one on. It currently needs another handle put on it now. I haven't done it yet cause at $30 each time it has to be replaced is getting expensive for a piece of plastic. Without this piece it is hard to open the door and I use the door to get my daughter in and out of my truck. I feel this part needs to be recalled and changed to a better handle.
