This is the third vehicle of this type that I have had to have a door hinge, bushings and/or hinge pins repaired on. 2004 Chevrolet blazer four door (odi number) 10255992. 2003 Chevrolet blazer two door (odi number) 10256634. The door is dropping causing a problem to either open or close the door. Door started creaking about a month ago and subsequently became a safety problem to close it properly. It was rubbing on the lock strike. Door was taken to the dealer after the other two were found to have a problem with the doors. I presume that the same repairs were made to this as it is still in the dealers shop as of today. When all is said and done it will have cost four hundred dollars plus to repair these doors and make them safe. It is not a new problem for gm as it has been going on in various models since the 80's.
2003 chevy zr 2 truck has a 3rdoor. The door handle keeps breaking and has to be replaced. This is an added expense. It is being opened under normal circumstances. It should not keep breaking. Also two of my friends have the same problems with their trucks.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet S10. The handle for the third door snapped and failed when the contact attempted to open the door. As a result, the door would not open. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 36,650. Updated 03/05/08. The consumer stated the part was replaced by him at the cost of $27. 50 plus tax. Updated 03/04/08.
Third door handle keeps breaking. Lucky not in an emergency. Replaced 4 times in 3 years.
On the 2003 chevy s-10 pick up truck, the door handle for the third door which leads to the rear compartment is poorly made. This handle has broken at least three times since I purchased the vehicle. Now I can not open the third door. It seems whatever part of the mechanism is used to open the door, it is made of plastic and it breaks after little use.
Pin and bushings in door hinge on driver's side fail causing door to close poorly and risk damage to the hinge. Two Chevrolet service departments told me the door was built too heavy for the hinge. Cost to repair the pin - $250. 00.

This same new handle broke was replaced in December, 04. Finally, the 2 new handle broke in August, 05. The break is always in the same area. The dealer has commented that he has numerous complaints to him for this part, but to chev has made no effort to recall or assist in any way. Can I have your review and assistance?.

The pickup truck was given to the dealer 2 times already and the interor leakage problem still exists. On the first attempt, the dealer claimed that I left the door open and it was my fault the vehicle leaked. On the second attempt at taking it to the dealer, I sat in their lobby for an hour-and-a-half while they claimed they were fixing the problem. The next day it rained and the vehicle continued to leak. I am contacting the dealer tomorrow for a third attempt at repair.
