1 Transmission Noise problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 12/15/2020

My transmission failed and I couldn't go over 40mph. The truck would jump and bounce and make loud screeching noises. At first I thought it was all the transmission. I asked a family friend who is a mechanic and he diagnosed it. He concluded that the transmission wasn't the only problem. The motor was having difficulties changing from v8-v4 also. I have been told by many people that I need to get a tuner to delete the computer program that changes the amount of cylinders firing. I have also seen/heard trucks that go without the delete too long. Also, my power steering will fail at low speeds while turning. Gm fails to see that my truck has this issue. Saying it doesn't affect my VIN.

When slowing for a red light or stop sign there is a noise like bad break pads swooshing as though intermittent contact is being made. Brakes ,pads, hubs ,seals and rotors inspected by cert. Mech. Sound appears to come from under center of undercarriage in vicinity of transmission tail shaft. I have had 3 or 4 incidents when putting truck in gear it jerks backwards enough to feel it. This truck has only 80,000 mi and I love to drive it however these noises make me feel like I might be facing serious trouble and great expense down the road. I have an appt. The 20th with the dealership where I purchased the truck . Does anyone recognize these symptoms if so I would appreciate hearing from you. My e-mail is jlint@sciotocounty. Net.

7 Transmission Noise problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/16/2016

I fought gm on this for 7 months. And did so 30 days from my purchase date. When I slow down my truck makes a horrible clunking noise. And will rev up in a sense and push you forward. Most of the time it's only probably a food but other times I has caused me to go through stop signs. Luckily no one is there but I fear that when I have my fiance and 3 kids in the truck I may get pushed forward and t boned. Or I may go into someone in front of me. Or into a fence. And they say it's normal every time. But it's getting worse and my thing is is if it's normal. . Then it's a serious issue. I have read reviews about other people having the same issue. This should be recalled. It's not safe and definitely not practical. They say it has something to do with my 6 speed. But I fought gm and he place I bought it from for months and months. Starting from repairs on my truck that was promised to be fixed to this transmission issue and them claiming they fixed it with some sensor. Then lying saying they never fixed anything when gm questioned them. Luckily I had someone that worked there that felt bad for me so he gave me all the info I needed. All in all gm ended up giving me a bumper to bumper gm warranty for 4yrs. For a problem they claim was normal. That's generous of them. But it's getting worse and I'm scared for my families safety.

8 Transmission Noise problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 08/22/2015

Heard a ticking noise coming from under hood of vehicle while pulling away from fast food establishment. Pulled over to find that transmission dipstick tube had fractured. Went home and found that gm had issued a "customer care bulletin" back in 2012 about this issue. However, I received no letter about this problem. I contacted gm this morning and they refuse to fix the problem under this "bulliten". This should not be a "bulletin", but should be a recall since it involves potential problems with the transmission. A dipstick tube fracture can lead to water, dirt, and other contaminants getting into the transmission causing failure that could result in accidents causing serious injuries or death.

9 Transmission Noise problem of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 02/26/2012

Vehicle stabilitrack and traction control lights came on. Engine warning light came on. While attempting to turn the vehicle onto a highway acceleration ramp, the car steering wheel locked and the engine died. Could not unlock the power steering. I was towing a horse trailer well within the gross weight for the vehicle. I had a horse in the trailer at the time. I also had children in the car. After a few minutes, I was able to start the vehicle and pull into a safer area. I was not able to tow the trailer home but I was able to get the vehicle home. The car hesitated and chugged along surging into each gear. While at a stop the vehicle hesitated and the engine sputtered. I had to put the truck in neutral and put my foot on the accelerator so the car engine would not die. The transmission would surge each time I stepped on the gas. Limited turning radius on the vehicle and I was not able to make a sharp turn without a grinding noise.

10 Transmission Noise problem of the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 03/02/2011

Hub bearings startred to make a loud noise and transmission front seal started to leak. I have a 2006 chevy silverado z71 with only 41260 miles on it. This should not be happening with so low miles. Tried to get it fixed but the extended warranty I have will not touch it because it is lifted. The probleum existed befor any lift. Th certified person who lifted my truck told me about the transmission leak. I thought the noise might have been the brakes but he told me that the hub bearingd sound like they are dry. I brought straight to trapp Chevrolet the when I got back from work. I guarantee if it was bought with a lift they would of fixed it. I wasnt told that if I lifted it it would void a powertrain on my warranty. This probleum was there berore. That is a loop hole for them. This is wrong.
