One problem related to engine funny noise has been reported for the 1999 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have a 1999 Dodge Intrepid that blew a rod at 72,000 miles with no warning. We replaced the engine for about $3,000 and two weeks ago at 102,000 miles I started to hear a rapping sound that was probably another rod, but before the engine could blow another rod something in the timing snapped, so now I am left with a lawn ornament that I can't afford to fix and I am still paying for. Not to mention the various other items we have had to replace like the a/c condenser for $600. 00 and the speed sensors, that was another $300. 00. This car is the biggest lemon I have ever bought.
