Powersteering hose broke, causing a leakage. When the consumer applied the brakes, there weren't any brakes. Consumer pressed hard on the brakes, and after a delay, the brakes kicked in.
While driving 70 mph t cruise control would not disengage. Applied the brakes,and vehicle still would not stop. Consumer turned the vehicle off to gain control. Please give any further details.
When traveling and upon depressing the brake pedal to make a normal stop the rear brakes lock up, causing the vehicle to go into a skid, resulting in extended stopping distance. Consumer has contacted the dealer, parts replaced.

1. While braking, brakes release when truck hits a bump in the road. Brakes releasing at the wrong time can be very dangerous. 2. Tread seperated from the tire casing (dot number: vnw8 1xl tiresize: 265/175r16).
Upon braking, brake pedal went to the floor, afterwhich a flash fire developed which did extensive damage to wireing, steering column shaft & gear box, 4wd actuation lines etc. This vehicle has had multiple brake service & recalls on the brakes. Ford has redesigned the front rotors & hubs but refuses to upgrade early production vehicles. All early production 1999 Ford f250sd vehicles should be recalled for complete brake system replacement. The rotors warp, they shake when stopping, they have had multiple rear brake recalls, the antilock brakes release & will not stop on rough roads & now mine went on fire. These trucks are death traps! this incident occurred with a vehicle that had only been driven 3 miles, & had no load in the bed. What would have happened if I was in the mountains of pennsylvania towing my 5000 lb trailer & lost the brakes & had a fire ? when I reported this incident to Ford I got the impression that they really didn't care.

When applying brakes the brake pedal chatters and does not stop truck , only when I lift my foot and apply the brake it works.
When coming to a stop driver hit brakes and vehicle started to bounce, and vehicle went through the light. Consumer felt this was very unsafe. Took vehicle to dealer ,and they replaced brakes and rotors 4 times.
While driving at any speed and applying the brakes they are working intermittently. Consumer has been waiting for parts for about eight months.
The abs braking system malfunctioned while driving over a bump in the road which activated , resulting in extended stopping distance. *akbraking normally with light brake pedal pressure while going over bump in the road causes the abs to engage, accompanied by an alarming loss of braking power. Pumping brakes returns system to normal.
Consumer was taking vehicle in for brake repairs when dealer informed consumer that both front drums were cracked. It was due to vehicle traveling over the mountains. But yet the consumer suppose to have heavy- duty trailer tow package. Consumer feels this is not a normal wear. Condition needs to be looked into.

When traveling on highway the brakes, on bumpy surface, suddenly let loose. There are no brakes at all until smooth pavements and slower speed. Speed is not a factor between 25mph, the problem still occurs. Dealer contacted and will check out and contact owner. No response for one month.
Consumer was driving on highway at 65 mph on normal road condition when suddenly consumer had to apply brakes. Front wheel on driver's side locked up, causing vehicle to skid out of control, resulting in an accident, but no injuries. Dealer inspected brake system. Informed consumer nothing could be found.
Abs problems; when applying the brakes during normal braking, more during emergency situations, there is a spongy feeling and a ticking noise coming from the system. The truck does not stop unless driver really jams the brake pedal down. The dealer is not aware of the problem.
Rear brakes locked up; cause: left rear brake cable binded, not allowing rear brake shoes to return fully to anchor pins. After parking brakes were applied, vehicle drifted to left, could have caused crash. Dealer will reroute parking brake cable, install windlece on left rear spring bracket to prevent chafing.

Brakes: driving approximately 10mph preparing to make left turn and vehicle would not stop. Ice was on highway, applied brakes and pedal went completely to the floor, cause of failure unknown , vehicle not taken in for repairs. Manufacturer insists that there is no recall.
When the streets are slick and wet or on gravel upon applying the brakes the front wheels locked up and driver had no control of the vehicle. The abs only applies to the rear brakes. While driving on wet roads, consumer touched the brake pedal and the truck would not steer or stop, consumer stated on the way to the dealership, the front wheels locked up, consumer was notified that vehicle only came equipped with rear abs, two people were injured in accident.

I brought a used F-250 4x4 with abs . The fist week using it, failure in stopping was noted. I returned the car , and the deler is checking it. I am very concern about this matter, for my safety and others. I am requesting help, this is normal. I have the same problem with a 98 chev suburban. What I can do to prevent a fatal accident both are big truck.
When brakes are applied with force, truck will not steer. This is a major concern and all 1999, 2000, 2001 250 and 350 trucks have same problem. Dealer has been contacted. Ford tech notes state (11/13/". . . This is a normal condition and Ford isn't going to reengineer the vehicle to solve it. The condition comes from a new wider stance, tie rod angle and the fact that there is more weight in the front end than on the 97 old body style vehicle. The truck cannot be reengineered to solve the customers design issue unless the entire platform is redesigned. Ford is not going to incorporate a design change at this time and has not plans on the drawing board that the the hotline knows about. " there will be fatalities because of this brake/steering problem! .
When brakes are applied in a panic stop, pedal fades, resulting in extended stopping distance. Dealer has replaced brake system.

Brakes shudder or wobble. Multiple repairs done but problem persists. We were given a loaner truck (same model and make) which turned out to have same problem! dealer has replaced all brake parts multiple times , turned drums multiple times, and replac.
The rear wheel antilock brakes do not work properly, the brakes lock up momentarily, but the dealer states that it was normal, the consumer believes the brakes were dangerous.
