My car has approximately 31000 miles on it. I"m the second owner of this vehicle. 18 days ago antifreeze was on my garage floor. My mechanic come over and explained to me that my water pump had gone bad. So I took my car to the dealership and they told me that it was still was under power train warranty. They diagnosed my car and verified that it was indeed the water pump and that there was another person that was waiting ahead of me for the same thing 30 days. I called other dealerships and they too were out of water pumps. My concern is that I will have to keep buying anti freeze every other day and I cannot afford this. This dealer ship told me that they did not have a loaner vehicle for me. Please help. Thank you.

I arrived home from work and noticed some coolant leaking out of my car. I popped the hood and saw coolant seeping from the weep hole. When I cranked the car back up, coolant started pouring out underneath the car, bad water pump. I had it towed to dealership today and was told there is a technical bulletin on the hose leading to water pump because it allows air in and causes the water pump to fail. The entire area has to be replaced with a new hose that includes a check valve, so it doesn't continue to happen. This is an obvious manufacturing defect. I was told any car that came in without a check valve has to be replaced with the new hose including a check valve and that I have to incur the entire expense $486 plus tax because hoses are not covered by powertrain warranty. I called Ford and was told due to no recall, I would not be reimbursed for this service. Even though, he also admitted that there is a technical bulletin issued by Ford regarding this problem. I have googled this and the same problem is all over the Mustang forums. Ford is refusing to stand by their product. Luckily, I was at home when this occurred and not out traveling the highway. This would cause the car to overheat and an accident can occur. Ford is refusing to cover any cost of the repair. This is a safety issue and concerns numerous consumers, not just me.

On January 3, 2005, the heater core on my 1999 Mustang had to be completely replaced, including the thermostat. The windows had fogged up before and the car smelled like syrup but I thought it was just vents. The heating core had to be replaced and the coolant had to be recharged and replaced also this came up to $700 dollars. On August 16 2005, 2 weeks after changing the coolant the water pump had to be replaced, once again the system had to be flushed the cost was$400. On July 2006 I had the coolant system flushed and changed, 1 month after the coolant was changed the windows starting fogging up, I was driving my vehicle and I was unable to get a clear view of the road due to the foggy windows, the heating core once again has to be replaced, is going to cost me another $600 dollars to fix this, I have all of the paperwork from firestone, I have kept up with all of the maintenance required by the manufacturer.
