The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while in a drive-thru line, the front driver's side window started smoking. The contact disconnected the wiring to the door. The vehicle was taken to o'reilly, where it was diagnosed with an internal door electrical failure. The contact personally replaced the power window motor. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing hard shifts while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was previously taken to o'reilly’s, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the alternator and low battery voltage. The alternator was taken to two technicians for testing, and the contact was informed that the alternator was in good condition. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was recently taken to o'reilly’s and autozone for diagnostic testing and the contact was provided fault codes for evap system leak detected, 1,2,3 active grille shutter (ags), throttle pedal position sensor switch a circuit high, system voltage below and above threshold, denied torque request signal, ecu configuration mismatch, ecu vehicle option mismatch, output speed sensor, input speed sensor/correlation, fan 1 control circuit, throttle pedal position sensor switches d and b circuit low, and dtc u0402-00 for tcm immediate repair. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
I am filing this complaint to report a seemingly common ongoing and worsening transmission issues in my 2015 Jeep Cherokee, which persist and have become significantly worse after receiving the u90 recall update and a subsequent tcm/pcm software update offered by Jeep. My vehicle shifted regular before the update after the update, the vehicle began exhibiting: •harsh and delayed shifting •sudden jerks and gear hunting during low-speed driving •uncommanded downshifts •severe hesitation from a stop, especially at intersections or in traffic •loss of power under throttle, with unpredictable shifts these symptoms make the vehicle unsafe in daily driving — especially in traffic or at intersections — as it often fails to respond predictably when attempting to accelerate or shift gears. The transmission behavior feels erratic, and software updates have not resolved the issue. Despite the u90 recall and repeated visits to the dealer, the transmission continues to perform poorly and poses a safety concern. Other owners have reported similar issues post-recall. Jeep has not issued a full recall for these problems beyond software updates, which clearly do not solve the underlying mechanical or calibration issues resolution sought: I urge NHTSA •investigate post-u90 transmission behavior in the 2015 Jeep Cherokee •consider a formal recall or service campaign for the zf 9-speed transmission (9hp) due to persistent performance and safety problems •require Jeep to provide a permanent fix for affected owners.
Hi, there are numbers of recalls and 3 of the recalls came back. I got engine light with the codes u0402 implausible data received from tcm u0164 lost communication with hvac control module tcm bcm and pcm needs to be reprogrammed or replaced. Also car is accelerating while cruise control is set. Fca satisfaction notice - r01 fca recall - s55 NHTSA recall - 16v - 529 fca recall - u63 NHTSA recall - 18v - 332 these 3 recalls need to be redone. Thanks.
I received an error message on the dash that the ptu failed which is a common failure on this Jeep. Mine was diagnosed by a local dealership. They informed me that the ptu ws determined to be ok, and the transmission control module was actually at fault. After waiting for the part, which wasn't available due to the stellantis strike. When I was waiting for the parts to come in, the dealer said I could drive the Jeep since it was electronic part failure and as long as I didn't engage the 4-wh. Dr. To power the rear wheels, it would be ok to drive. When the tcm was received, I dropped the Jeep off for service. The part was replaced, error cleared, and test driven by the technician. The error message immediately returned. At this point, the technician decided to do a visual inspection of the drivetrain. He found the rear differential cracked all the way around, and all fluids had leaked out. If the rear differential had locked up or cv snapped off due to lack of lubrication, it could have caused a serious, possibly deadly accident. I feel the technician should have performed a complete inspection of the driveline first, before trusting the computer to correctly diagnose the problem. After talking to other Jeep Cherokee trailhawk owners, it appears they had similar situations with the rear differential splitting open much too often for a front wheel drive midsize SUV.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the pcm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
Vehicle loses power sometimes when the gear shift is d position of the 9 speed automatic transmission. This has happened 3 times in one week. The saftey concern is that two of those times were while crossing a busy intersection. A certified dealer reprogrammed the pcm this week(I paid for the service) but I believe the manufacturer is aware of this problem but my Jeep Cherokee VIN is not on a recall list. The service transmission warning appeared after the first malfunction. I have only driven it home from the dealership so am not sure the problem is solved. However, the warning light did not come on. I am sure many Jeep Cherokees were recalled for this problem but my VIN is not included yet.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that at start-up, the "transmission, service required" warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact proceeded to drive the vehicle with the warning message displayed and while driving 25 mph, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to park the vehicle and had it towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic could not diagnose the failure and had to tow the vehicle to another independent mechanic who was also unable to diagnose cause of the failure. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and acknowledged that the failure was a known issue; however, there were no recalls on the VIN. Upon investigation, the contact linked her failure to a defective pcm (powertrain control module). The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.
2015 Jeep Cherokee limited. While driving the vehicle, lost power abruptly and without warning in traffic on 5 occasions between may 2021 and July. Car towed and taken to dealership each time with repair notations indicating short in pdc causing fuse for ignition coils to blow. That was replaced. An additional note when the car failed again indicated an internal short in pcm which was replaced. I've spent thousands of dollars, not to mention the safety issue of stalling in traffic. The last time, I was on a very busy freeway and didn't have enough power to fully move to the shoulder. I counted about 3 near misses with cars about to hit me. I don't have every *invoice* as they didn't return them all to me but will upload what I do have. This is a serious issue and I'm not getting any resolution with the dealership.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shifted gears improperly. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while driving and experienced hard shifts into gear. The vehicle was taken to lewis Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, 3311 n college Ave, fayetteville, ar 72703, (833) 551-7843, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the pcm software needed to be updated. The software was updated however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken back to lewis Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram, where the transmission was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was under 36000. Ah.
April, 2019: every thing on the dash lit up. Car started to roll and we had to jump out of the car to stop it. It wouldn't go into park, but parking brake worked for a while. Car wouldn't turn off, locks wouldn't work. Nothing worked. Towed to dealer with Jeep on the whole way. A 18 month old child was with us. Dangerous. Repair did a tcm fix and said this was a catastrophic event that would not happen again. October 2, 2019. Pushed the start button car started but couldn't push down on brake. Couldn't move out of park. Would turn it off and it would turn right back on. Had it towed to dealer - have not heard back. In addition have had transmission issues for last two years. Car lurches when going around 30 mph, stalls a bit when just starting out driving from a stopped position.
My child purchased vehicle (used) from dealer (mi. - approx. 43,820). Discovered powertrain issues w/ vehicle that I believe are related to previous recall (re:Chrysler recall # s55). While driving vehicle it will go into neutral and engine revs up, resulting in loss of forward motion. This happens intermittently. The check engine light and service trans. May come on, but will go out. Vehicle was taken back to dealer regarding the problem. Serviceman reccomended replacing transmission at a cost of over $5000. 00. Prior recall service on vehicle (11/2016) shows the problem as the transaxle range sensor wire harness, but the pcm and the tcm was re-programmed. This was done twice according to the vehicle records. We spoke with the dealer and mfg. About replacing the wiring harness, since the recall indicated that could possibly be the problem due to bad crimping. Took the vehicle back to the dealer to diagnose the problem. They indicated that they checked the wiring harness and found no problem. It appears the dealer and mfg. Not willing to take ownership of problem, leaving the consumer (my daughter) with a continuing intermittent issue and the cost of resolving it. . . (very disappointed!) also, the vehicle still has the trouble code that they can't clear (code= p1db7) note that the vehicle had less than 100,000 mi when this issue was bought to their attention, but mfg. Won't honor powertrain warranty because she is not the original owner. Dealer willing to replace trans. At cost of over $5000. 00. . .
The vehicle lags on takeoff, shifts roughly between gears, lags between gears, and lurches. The automatic transmission does not function smoothly and, at times, has caused safety concerns related to inadequate acceleration and lurching forward unexpectedly. These problems occur in motion on city streets and on the highway. The vehicle has been in and out of the dealership for service related to the transmission control module (tcm). We have been told that it is not covered under the power train warranty, even though it is part of the transmission system. The date provided below is the latest service. However, the vehicle has been serviced two other times for the same problem.
Shifter--the vehicle is rendered inoperable when shifting from park to reverse or to drive. While we've tried to find a pattern, the issue's recurrence is unpredictable and has yet to be diagnosed despite countless trips to and conversations with our dealer and with Chrysler. This is the second report we've filed about this vehicle with the NHTSA (6/19/18). Summary: the dash displays/flashes "service shifter"/all other component lights, warning bells ring and every gear light on the shifter lever illuminates. Some incidents prevent the vehicle from shutting off/restarting or for the brake pedal to depress. We've learned we must shut the car off and restart, sometimes 2-3 times, in order for it to become operable. The check engine light stays on for varying amounts of time. The issue has occurred while driving and for our safety we must stop, shut down and restart; it also has occurred while attempting to pull out at an intersection or out of our driveway, both of which are frightening since we find ourselves stuck in the path of oncoming traffic. Acceleration issues--in addition, abrupt lurching forward, hesitations after stopping and lack of acceleration power (gas pedal is to the floor but car won't pick up speed) have occurred. We have had it to two dealers only to be told that the check engine light must be on to diagnose; the one time it was tested, the event wasn't active and the codes were stored (over 40 were displayed) and of no help. They only will say that the car is losing communications and despite all that's been done to this point, can't guarantee they'll ever be able to determine a fix for it. The pcm has been reprogrammed four times; tcm has been replaced/updated four times; shift lever assembly replaced; shift lever greased; trans axle wiring harness replaced two times; shift lever bezel/wiring replaced.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While stationary, the vehicle would not downshift and remained in third gear instead of first or second gear. The contact stated that the vehicle seemed as if it wanted to stall. There was not enough power to the vehicle upon acceleration from third gear. The dealer replaced the pcm, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 46,677.
On two occasions the following sequence of events have happened. 1. "check engine" light appears. Message reads "service transmission". 2. Immediately transmission no longer responds. 3. Turn off vehicle. Upon restarting "check engine" light remains on but vehicle returns to functioning normally. 4. Take vehicle in to check the trouble code. Upon restarting vehicle the "check engine" light no longer appears. The issue first occurred at around 31,500 miles while traveling surface roads at about 40 mph. I took it in to the dealership for an unrelated recall notice and informed them of the other issue. They said they would inspect the transmission for any and all issues. The vehicle was returned to me and I was assured there was no issue. At around 34,000 miles the issue happened again; this time it happened driving on a busy highway at 70mph. Upon taking it in to an autozone the trouble code read "p0887 tcm power relay control circuit high". The dealership told me they aren't aware of that code and it is currently in their possession to investigate.
While driving at highway speeds, the transmission would not shift from 7th gear. Pulled over and turned the car off for a few minutes. When restating the car, problem went away, but then happened again in the same situation 20 minutes later. Took it immediately to the dealer and they re-flashed tcm & pcm and did a quick learn. All seemed good, but a few weeks later, the car started hard shifting in low gears and reverse. When coming to a slow stop and accelerating, the car will take a few seconds to get the rpm's up and then lunge forward as it catches the gear. Went back to the dealer and they did the same as before, tcm, pcm and quick learn. A few days later, the same problem started happening again. Dealership says all software is up to date and have no other ideas to fix the issue. Definitely a safety concern, especially when making left turns from close to a stop (ie. Left turn yield lights).
When taking off from a complete stop the Jeep hesitates or has no power to wheels for 5- 10 seconds at a time. When pulling out into an intersection we have almost been hit numerous times because the vehicle will not move. The engine revs up but no power to the wheels. And once it does start to move it takes off and gives you whiplash. We have also experienced our transmission getting locked into an unknown gear and not shifting up or down. Both of these instances have happened on highways and in city driving. Our dealer replaced a relay the first time our ck engine light came on. The second time they replaced a tcm and flashed our computer and installed 5 software upgrades. The third time our ck engine light came on which was last week, they are now replacing our transmission. There is obvious no fix for this transmission issue and it's unbelievable that Jeep would allow this well known safety issue to continue. This transmission is going to get someone hurt or killed. No doubt in my mind. When you pull out into an intersection and hit the accelerator and nothing happens and there's a tractor trailer headed straight for you, I'd like to know what Jeep recommends you do?.
I purchased my 2015 Jeep Cherokee 3. 6l limited edition in may since then had nothing but problems with the 9 speed automatic transmission rough shifting and the front axles causing wobbling at lower speed . After 5 or 6 visits to the service department they installed a new transmission and front axles. Two days later horrible noise was coming from the axles the vehicle had to be towed to service again. When the car was returned to me it seemed to be driving fine except it did not shift into 2nd gear and felt like the car has no power however it has 273 hp. Less then a 1000 miles later the check engine light came on along with a! . After diagnosis the error code was pointing to the transmission control module. The service administrator told me that they would clear the code and the tech would drive the car and if it does not come back the would consider it fixed, and not questioning why it happened at the first place. We feel completely unsafe in this car, I wish I never bought this vehicle. This car has 10500 miles on it and I had to take it 7 times to the dealership. Do not buy this type of car.
Initially car shuttered when coming to a stop and was downshifting. The engine start/stop malfunction light illuminated and the service engine mil came on as well. From then on the car behaved as though it was stuck in 3rd gear causing a total lack of torque/power when accelerating from stops, and the engine rpms were going extremely high and the car wouldn't shift. Even tried using the "manual shift" feature but the car indicated it was shifting gears, but the rpms did not change, nor could you feel the car shift. When accelerating from a stopped position there was no power and the car crawled/struggled to get moving forward. Was almost t-boned trying to turn across oncoming traffic to get to a parking lot so I could stop. Once I pulled into the parking lot car would not go into reverse. I put it in reverse, but the car wouldn't go. Turned the car off and then on and everything seemed to reset except mil and car started bevaing normally. I took the car to the dealership and they "reflashed" the pcm, tcm, and bcm. 1 day later the car shutters when down shifting and error lights come on. Loses power, and 50% of the time seems like it is not shifting gears. 25% of the time won't go into reverse. Car behaves normally after restarting though the mil indicator light remains on. Usually around 10 miles later the whole series of malfunction starts again, always when the car is downshifting before a stop. Just dropped the car off to the dealer and they are having their transmission specialist look at it. When I dropped it off it was giving the same error code, "improbable error" from the tcm/pcm. The lack of power to accelerate and inability to go into reverse makes this car simply unsafe to drive when the errors occur. Attaching first repair invoice from the tcm/pcm/bcm reflash. Waiting to hear what the transmission specialist says.
I bought a 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk v6 on 10/14/15. On 10/16/15 while driving down a street at 45mph, the vehicle died. I managed to get off to the side of the road and after a couple of attempts it started again. The check engine light was now on and I had no acceleration. I managed to drive 5 miles to the dealership in "limp mode" and drop it off for repairs. The last I heard on 10/17/15 was that they were going to replace the tcm and pcm and see if that helps, it is now 10/21/15 and I do not have an update.
Completed a new lease for a 2015 Cherokee 4x4 limited on 10. 08. The next morning, the vehicle would not accelerate as I made a left turn into a five lane road. I was able to coast to a lot. Dealership towed it and within a week replaced valve body. When I picked up car, the car malfunctioned again on the porter who brought the car to me- service transmission and break lights on again (both happened with the vehicle lost power the first time). They kept the car and replaced the transmission control module. Two days later, the car is making a whistling noise while in park- possible burning smell coming from rear of care where the noise is most prevalent. Will return to dealer today but very concerned about the safety of this new vehicle of me and my two young sons.
I have the v6 automatic. The transmission has always been a little off and I have adapted my driving style to cope with the hesitant acceleration and the clunking/lurching when when accelerating and decelerating. The florida turnpike traffic has been stop and go since the schools reopened two weeks earlier. Since I spend more time in stop and go traffic, the transmission number of hesitation and lurching events have skyrocketed. Most recently the vehicle lurches violently forward when accelerating and slowing down at approximately 10 mph. The severity of the lurch has increased and the last even threw my head forward enough to strain my neck resulting in several days of soreness. This transmission is beyond quirky and in my opinion poses a threat to vehicle occupants as well as other vehicles directly in from of it. The vehicle is awaiting diagnostics at the dealership who advised they are waiting for a decision from corporate whether to service the transmission or replace it completely. Previously the pcm/tcm were flashed in June 24th 2015 @ 3289 miles. Complaint has been addressed to Chrysler as well.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the vehicle had a pinched wire. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was previously taken to the dealer to be serviced for a customer satisfaction campaign for the transmission control module and power train control module software update. Approximately five months later, while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle accelerated independently and the rpms revved. The vehicle operated properly after the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was repaired five times; however, the failure recurred intermittently. The failure mileage was 20,500.
We were driving cross-country, far from home when the service light came on at 5,645 miles. Fortunately, we broke down in a city with a Jeep dealer nearby that could scan the codes. We learned that the transmission control module indicated a problem with the transmission. The dealer recommended replacing the transmission. After 5 days, we picked up our car. We have noticed rough shifting on both the old transmission and the new transmission. We have since learned that the transmission in this make/model vehicle is new and not production ready. Many customers are complaining about the same problems and experiencing close calls with vehicles hitting their stalled car on freeways and busy streets. We are very worried about our safety as the transmission continues to run rough like before. Please investigate.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that when the accelerator pedal was engaged, the vehicle failed to accelerate and jerked forward without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired three times but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,000. Ss.
The transmission issue has been occurring intermittently, but the Jeep in inoperable when the transmission failure is occurring. The transmission has failed to engage when starting the car or when the auto start/stop sequence occurs while driving. The screens pop up on dash including 4wd failure, parking brake failure, and service transmission. I have now brought the Jeep in 3 times in the last month with the same unresolved transmission issue. On the first occurrence, the vehicle was towed into the local dealer, the second time I drove it in after restarting the vehicle and the tcm was replaced. The third time, the dealer was unable to repeat the issue and apparently the codes cleared. The interesting part about the third time was the fact that uconnect sent me an email warning me of the issue. I have very little confidence that this issue will not reoccur. The key takeaway of the issue is once I restart the vehicle several times the transmission eventually engages and the vehicle is drive able. The transmission light remains on, but will clear sometimes.
I purchased a latitude v6 2wd 2 months ago. This past Sunday, while stopping at a stop light, the car made a dinging noise, the check engine light came on along with the message that the start/stop feature was not working. When I began to accelerate, the car would not shift gears and by the time I got to 40 mph my rpm's were at 4,000. After a mile or so, I was able to pull over and turn the car off. When I restarted the car, the check engine light remained on but it was driving fine until I got to the next stop light. The same thing happened again. On Monday, I had the car towed to the dealership. They told me that they performed updates on my car and resolved the issue. I requested them to test drive it for good measure and was assured all was well on Tuesday morning. I picked up the car on Tuesday afternoon and before I could get to the highway, the same error returned! this time I was able to accelerate normally without the rpm issue but as I was slowing my car, the down shifting was extremely rough. The service guy brought his tablet into my car and said that the errors were coming from the pcm. Today, Wednesday, he informed me that they were replacing the pcm. I should get it back tomorrow or Friday. I will follow up on this issue. 7/31 - replacing the pcm did not fix the issue. They are now replacing the transmission - which is on a 3 week backorder.
I was backing up my daughters driveway. Her driveway is a little steep and when I went to give the Jeep more gas the rpms dropped from 1500 to idle and then back to 1500 rpms really quick, it did this a couple times. The dog ended up on the floor of the car, friends standing outside the car though I didn't know how to drive. I finally had to turn the Jeep around and go up her driveway in the forward direction. We went out to eat later and when I came back I tried backing up her driveway again and it did the same thing. I took the Jeep into the dealer on 6/29/15 with 990 miles on it. The dealer updated the pcm and tcm and retested it but could not get it to fail. It failed again about 3 months later on labor day weekend, 2015. Again backing up my daughters driveway. I contacted the Jeep service manager and he said they probably can't fix it if it doesn't set a code. (great) the Jeep hasn't failed backing up again but it did fail on the highway at 65 miles per hour completely shutting down and not restarting. (see complaint #10819212) like other Jeep owners I've noticed the Jeep stays in third gear to long at low speed, especially if you have to make a left turn in front of on coming traffic. I've resorted to down shifting the transmission myself so I can have some power to make the turn without getting hit. ( note to Chrysler, I'm a first time Jeep buyer, keep doing nothing about the engine and transmission problems and you can find your Jeep at a Ford or chevy dealership. . . . . . . Real soon).
Dealer did a software flash for pcm for 9 speed auto transmission June 15, 2015 and since then it will not downshift into first gear unless vehicle comes to complete stop. Transmission will not downshift entering highway. It shifts are sluggish when going from reverse to drive. Sometimes it slams into first gear when I pull away from stop. Dealer said no warning light goes on so its okay. There was nothing wrong until they did software flash.
Purchased a new 2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude 4/9/15. In may (approx 700 miles) I stated to notice a wobble when accelerating & the vehicle lunged when stopping & starting. The lunge was so powerful that I thought I was going to hit the car in front of me. Took in for service 5/29. They reprogrammed the tcm module. Wobble came back & by June 8th it was wobbling & hesitating (once it happened in an intersection). I called service dept on June 9th. Took it in on Jun 10th to have one of their guys take it for a spin. While waiting, they told me Jeeps do "certain things other cars don't". I told them I searched the internet & apparently there is a know problem & brought a printout of some of the other customer complaints. They said "can't go by that". . . I rode with their tech & he said he never felt anything like that. He got his service manager so they go take it for a ride together. They replaced the axles (6/12) but said the wobble is still there. They'd contacted Chrysler via email & was told not to dump anymore parts in the vehicle. They know what the issue is (but they wouldn't tell the dealer) & a tcb was coming out in Aug. There was nothing that could be done until then. They said (in their email) the car was safe to drive. Really? took car back on 7/3. Work was done the same day, they reprogrammed the tcm again. On the way home I stopped to get gas & when leaving the gas station the car lunged me into the road! by 7/7 the wobble was more intense. By 7/8 car was slow to accelerate from a stop, could barely keep up with traffic. Called case manager on 7/9 said whatever they did made it worse. His solution was to take back in for service because I can't drive a car like that! he called to make appointment and the earliest they had was 7/20 (11 days later). These cars are unsafe & someone is going to get hurt! please do something!.
Car updated on 5/20/15 with latest TSB 21-21-15a for transmission control module. Car now skips 2nd gear when downshifting (coasting). On rolling stops the car is stuck on 3rd gear causing lack of acceleration while traffic behind expects car to get moving (highway entry ramp). If gas is floored car finally reacts and skips to 1st causing wheelspin. Car has slid during wet conditions. With snow this can be lethal. Car did not skip 2nd gear before TSB. Dealer advised this behavior is the new standard.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated the vehicle goes into third gear and down shifts to the next gear without any controlling. The vehicle also jerks without any warning. In addition when the accelerator pedal was engaged, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired but the contact stated the vehicle has been repaired for all transmission control module updated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,200. Ng.
My husband and I bought a brand new 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk. 2 weeks after owning our brand new car that we purchased because we were expecting a baby and wanted to have a safe reliable vehicle we started having shifting problems and electrical issues. We brought in the vehicle multiple times (4 times) and although we were told that it might be transmission related issues but then as soon as Chrysler got involved we were told our vehicle is perfectly fine. Nothing was ever fixed until my husband and I went to a different dealership. The new dealership fixed the electrical problems but said everything with the transmission is normal. The car makes shudder motions, sometimes it does not accelerate as I'm trying to get onto the freeway and it shifts very jerky. We have owned a Jeep before which did not do that. We are so disappointment how Chrysler is responding to known transmission problems and not doing any recalls on transmission related issues. We bought this vehicle because we wanted a safe vehicle for the family. However, after the latest tcm update the shifting has gotten worse and it doesn't feel safe to drive the vehicle yet Chrysler won't do anything as we are being told this is normal.
Jeep performed a recall on tcm/pcm for the 9 speed transmission. Now at low speeds 2-5mph in an intersection or from a stop sign, or slow down on railroad tracks the car will not move even with the gas pedal to the floor, up to a 5 second delay. We were in an intersection, the light changed and cars were oncoming, after hitting the gas pedal the car just sat there, this has happened multiple times and we were almost hit. Took it back and it was reprogrammed. Still has the same delay, taking it back for the 3rd time. If you do a rolling stop and start out into the intersection the car refuses to move, the engine is running, but no response from the Jeep. We are afraid we will get stuck in an intersection or railroad track and get killed! the Jeep only has 4000 miles on it. If your Jeep is running fine. . . Do not let them reprogram the transmission!!!.
3rd time where loss of power & service transmission light & check engine light came on. Dealer service dept advised there is a recall on the tcm & pcm software, they did update on Friday & also advised my Jeep was giving error p0711-0 code which is transmission temp sensor. They did nothing to address that, just updated software & cleared codes. Next day while driving, same issues & loss of power which nearly caused an accident in heavy traffic. Only 3500 miles, bought brand new in oct, 2014.
