While my pregnant wife was driving to a doctors appointment, the 2015 Jeep Cherokee suddenly lost the ability to accelerate. The vehicle was traveling at 45mph when this event occurred. The Jeep finally slowed to a stop in the middle of the road. The engine continued to run, but the vehicle would not move. The vehicle was turned off and then turned on again. When placed in 'drive' the vehicle made a loud thud. When the vehicle was placed in 'park' it made a grinding noise. The vehicle's parking brake suddenly engaged and could not be turned off; this made it impossible to move the vehicle to the side of the road. We waited 30min for a tow truck to move the vehicle from the middle of the road to a firestone for evaluation. Firestone indicated that it was a problem with the transmission. We then had to tow the vehicle to whitten brothers Jeep dealership for evaluation. We were informed that the vehicle will likely not be covered by the powertrain warranty due to the time requirement. The 2015 Jeep Cherokee only has 83,000 miles. I bought this vehicle new in Jan 2016 and expected the vehicle to last 15-20 years. If my wife had been driving to work instead of a doctors appointment, she could have been stranded on the interstate with vehicles driving 65+ mph; this would have resulted in a serious accident with injuries to my wife and unborn child. This is a huge safety concern that Jeep is obviously not taking seriously.
After 10 days vehicle staying in my house not using I tried to start engine and my battery was down. Buy new battery and instal and when I start the engine I get on my dash bunch of warning lights on and message. Service parking brake my transmission not working properly and when you try to switch from parking to drive or reverse getting clunk noise and driving only in one speed maybe 4 or 5th speed on dash blinking d or r and odometer.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. When the contact parked the vehicle, it failed to restart. When the contact made another attempt, the vehicle restarted. The failure occurred several times. The contact also stated that when the vehicle was in any gear, it jerked and made a loud noise. Also, the transmission indicator blinked on and off. On another occasion, when the vehicle was started, the rpms increased very high without the accelerator pedal being pressed. Jim browne Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram of dade city (12020 us-301, dade city, FL 33525, (352) 353-0704) advised that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer agreed with the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000.
I have been having issues with what I assume is the transmission. When stopped on an incline, when I go to accelerate the whole front of the vehicle bucks and makes lots of noise. It sounds like gears are grinding and it is fighting to get traction. Also, when back up my driveway it feels like the rear wheels are slipping and fight to get traction as well. It started to happen when driving down the highway on a flat surface at like 30 mph as well. I have already taken it to a dealership where they performed a software update on the transmission. It has not fixed the problem, but has made it less frequent. I have already taken it back to the dealership again. The vehicle is still under the powertrain warranty. I have taken videos of the problem occuring.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact heard an abnormal noise and the gears felt as if they had slipped. The vehicle was taken to larry h. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram albuquerque (8528 lomas blvd ne, albuquerque, mn 87110, 505-404-0108) where it was diagnosed that the transmission was inoperable. The vehicle was repaired, but the symptoms recurred. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle again, but could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 22,600.
One morning I started the car, I heard water moving from the engine area. While, driving the car I heard a noise's like a pressure cooker sounds. Once I arrived at work I walked around to the passage side to retrieve my staff. I could smelled antifreeze. I contacted Jeep right away and they contact a tow company. It was drop off. The dealership worked on it for a couple days. They did pressure test for external leak, didn't locate a leak. They didn't do a internal examine. It's 2 year old vehicles already leaking antifreeze. I have my vehicle into the dealership twice but still smell antifreeze. Two pressure test later nothing. I just pickup my vehicle for the second time. Why is Jeep vehicles having so many problem. My psi, transmission and radio making sounds when its off. Jeep is a bad vehicle and it just a matter of time, humans might be in damage due to the uncaring manufacturing company that makes lot's of money of the back of working americans.
Service light for transmission will illuminate when on the expressway. If you slow down car will jerk and make a loud clunk noise. When resuming acceleration this noise has to happen. The light goes off at times.
While driving on a main blvd the Jeep suddenly locked up much like the e-brake being appled, lots of weird noises. Dash lit up with check transmission, brakes, and engine warnings. Almost caused a major accident. Turned car off, let it reset and was able to continue. Happened again three days later. Had Jeep towed to dealer. This car is a death trap. Working on a resolution with dealer.
I've had the computer recall update. When driving the transmission will jerk and make a loud noise this happens when the car is in motion and can happen at any speed. It does not happen every time I drive but happens enough to be a concern.
As I was driving the car notified me that my 4wd was temporary suspended and after sometime it showed service transmission and the service light came on and my steering was stuck, it was difficult to control the car but I managed to stop the car in a remote place. After I tried to restart the Jeep I could not restart it and there was not cranking noise and I got 3 messages on my dash. "service transmission" "service park brake" and svc 4wd. I have had the Jeep for less than a month. It just had 939 miles on it.
Loud noise from the engine/transmission then the car completely shuts down and comes to a complete stop in the road. The car will then restart all systems with check engine light on. Has happened and been taken to the dealership for repairs on 10/20/2014, 12/1/2014, 12/3/2014,12/12/2014,12/22/2014. Dealership nor Chrysler know what is causing the issue and will not do anything except try to repair. I have concerns that if this issue happens at higher speeds on interstate what would happen.
