We received a recall notice on a 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander. It was purchased in October of 2009. The recall notice was sent by mail March 17, 2010. The car was purchased at edison motors, brad benson dealer in monmouth, n. J. It was purchased new. It was sent to almaty, kazahkstan to my son who works for the state department and lives there with his wife and two very young children. The recall was to replace the brake booster valve. I called the dealer and they said it had been done. To double check, I called Mitsubishi and they say it has not been done. We have asked edison to send my son the parts, because the warranty is not recognized out of the u. S. A. , and he will have it placed into the car. Is there any way you can check with the VIN#[xxx] to see if the work has been done. The car is under the name of [xxx]. If you can please put our minds at ease

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 1N4BL11E52_. I left my 2002 Nissan Altima sit out overnight (temps dropped below 10 degrees). When I drove the car in the morning, the brakes failed. I pushed down on the break pedal, but it would not go down and the brakes did not work. Fortunately, the brake failure did not cause or result in an accident. I contacted the dealership. They said they believe it is a "check sensor" and are replacing it at my expense later today. This has happened to me about 4 times. It always happens when it is below 10 degrees outside. This air brake check valve issue occurred Friday, Nov. 30, 2007.

The vehicle is a 2007 Toyota Rav4. All 2007 Rav4 v6 engines like mine purchased new have a whistling/whining noise at idle, especially when cold out due to more air intake needed, from the brakes vacuum booster lines very noticeable when at idle at initial cold startup when applying brakes off and on. I have even heard this same loud whistling noise coming from in front of the instrument panel when accelerating from a stop sign in very cold (below 32 degrees) weather which is all due to the vacuum lines/check valve in the brakes vacuum system. Dealer is aware of the problem and have no resolution except to file a complaint with Toyota rep. To address this issue. All new 07 Rav4 v6 owners need to complain to their dealers about this issue for they will not repair this annoying loud whistling noise in the brakes vacuum booster lines without 100's of complaints. Also, I have read several complaints about the cruise control flooring the engine up even a slight hill and shifting in and out of gears repeatedly like it does not know what gear the engine should be in. Even with my 268 hp v6, it will do this and is not only annoying, but is a distraction and possible safety issue in slippery winter driving since the cruise control floors the engine up a hill and can cause swerving on icy roads. Speak up consumers, and let Toyota know they have issues which I am 100% correct on!. This issue happened on Mon., Oct. 15, 2007.
