The car was a 2003 Ford Windstar. The abs and brake light have been on in my car intermittently for almost as long as I have owned the car. The Ford dealer was unable to find any problems even though the light remains on. I have had to replace 3 sets of wheel bearings in the car and now the power steering unit is about to go out and the rack is leaking. The vehicle only has 78,000 miles on it. I work at home so I do not drive to work so the mileage is low for a vehicle this age. The vehicle is also rusting and I keep it parked in my garage unless it is being driven. The passenger side window only rolls down occasionally. In conclusion: I have been driving for 41 years and I have never replaced wheel bearings or power steering in any vehicle, let alone 3 sets of wheel bearings and a power steering unit. The costs of these repairs will total over 2000 dollars with no resolve of the brake issue or window problem. The failure date was 04/06/04.

I took a long trip this week for vacation and noticed that the abs light as been coming on and off, and now its on all the time. Whenever im moving at low speeds it tends to pulse when I brake or have the abs activate making an easy slow stop become and long stop that has made me swerve to miss many near collisions in the past few days. Im also hearing a knocking sound at low speeds in the drive side wheel only when I turn right, between the 2 that have just recently appeared made my 900 mile trip a nightmare, not knowing what it is. I've researched the problem online and notice there was a recall in canada for the same problem and that the complaints are not high enough to get it in the u. S. GMC dealer diagnosed the problem as failure of the abs electronic module unit. They advised me that it would be $1130. 00 + tax to replace. This brake failure occurred at 70,000 miles. This is the second time this has happen to this vehicle. The other time it was under a extended warranty (09/2004). I hope this will not happen every 3 years. Dealership says they replace them all the time. I was told it was placed next to the frame where water could get in the unit and cause damage. . . Enough to replace. Hopefully a recall campaign will happen before I have to replace the next one. I have read numerous complaints about this type of brake failure. The failure date was December 28, 2007.

I have taken it to the dealer who indicated that diagnostic codes require the main abs computer module to be replaced. When the light is lit, the abs system is inoperative. This is a safety hazard. The light occaisionally does go off after self diagonostics, about 2% of the time. Honda claims there is no recall on this vehicle, even though isuzu indicates that their rodeo, which is the same vehicle and model year does have a voluntary recall in place for faulty abs module, which althouhg it appears unrelated to this problem, would also solve this problem as the abs module is replaced in this safety campaign. It was 08/15/2002 when this air brake abs warning light issue happened.

Normal driving in summer when my 1999 Land Rover Discovery Ii's abs and traction control warning lights illuminated and stayed on. Two days later those lights were joined by the hill decent warning light as well. I took it to my local mechanic who did not have the proper tool to diagnose the problem - brake system was bled but the lights still remain. Crash happened when the problem occurred. I purchased a 2000 Lincoln Navigator from laurel-Ford dealer in mississippi on August 21, 2003. After asking the dealership if all necessary maintenances were done on vehicle my family and I left for new york. I still had the original mfr warranties and I purchased an extended warranty plan. While traveling on the interstate on August 25th the brake lights came on and suddenly the left rear tire exploded. My family and I feared for our lives. It turned out that the brakes were faulty, no emergency brakes, no stablizer, heavily rusty links, and etc. The tow truck had to tow us twice. After ariving in new york, a dealer, told me that the vehicle was never serviced. They explained in detialed in wrting. We could have been killed. I was on vaction with my twin boys and wife. I very angried with the laurel-Ford dealership in ms and its owners. The tires seem dry rotted and corrosion was very visiable under the SUV. Since then, I spent over $5000 getting this Navigator fixed and got very little satisfactin from the owner and his dealership. The car is a 2002 Nissan Xterra. There was crash involved with this Nissan Xterra. While driving 55mph, my rear axle broke causing the wheel to fly off, loss of control, and obvious damage to the car. I later found out that there was a abs recall for this identical problem, but I was never informed of the recall. After 4 weeks, I have been told the Nissan will cover the repair of the vehicle, but that is all. I would like to know if there is anything else I can or should pursue for negligence on behalf of the corporation and the dealer. Service technician confirmed that abs ecu was inoperative and needed to be replaced. Arroway SAAB dealer attempted to resolve issue with SAAB USA to replace $3500 part. I would pay labor. SAAB dealer refused to guarantee replacement of abs computer would fix problem. Currently working with purchasing a used until for $900. Wish I had known about the rebuild option. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was JTDBL40E09_. 2009 Toyota Corolla - japanese built
abs/brake warning lights at approximately 31,000 miles. 1. Diagnostic computer indicates trouble codes c0210 (speed sensor failure) and c1238 (plug to right rear wheel assembly). Plug to abs sensor and terminal repair kit work at 32, 126 miles. 2. 2nd diagnostic computer reading indicates "inactivity with left rear abs sensor". Abs/brake warning lights again . In addition, lights are now accompanied by frequent loud noises in the engine compartment, significant vibration though the brake pedal, momentary partial brake failure. 3. Return for 3rd inspection of both left/right rear wheel hub assemblies. Mechanics again reinspect, clean and apply electric grease to both rear abs sensors and road test the vehicle. Same issues reappear after only few miles of 3rd repair. Mechanics now determine there is too much corrosion in the right rear abs speed sensor connection in the right rear wheel hub assembly for the abs speed sensor plug to connect securely and the right rear wheel assembly must be replaced. This is an expensive part at $372-$443 retail plus labor for either japanese/north american built Corollas. The accompanying loud noise in the engine compartment has been determined to be the separate but associated abs module within the engine compartment. The defective abs speed sensor/rear wheel hub assembly in the right rear wheel causes incorrect readings by the abs module in the engine compartment, incorrectly assuming there is wheel slippage at certain wheels and "causing the abs module to go haywire" in attempts to correct what it thinks is wheel slippage. This appears to be a common defect since similar complaints have been filed; see "consumer complaints/odi case numbers 10381428 (2/10/11) and 10320698 (3/18/10). I recently took my vehicle to the dealer and I was told it was the abs module that needed to be replaced. The cost to repair will be approx. $1200 for parts and labor. The dealer told me they could not help with the cost because I am out of warranty and I have 50k on the odometer. I feel that the abs is a safety feature on the vehicle and vw should be willing to cover at least some of the cost. I have had no such luck thus far. I have been looking into this problem in vw forums and have found I am not the only one with this problem. Most people are saying the same story $1100 - $1500 for replacing the abs module. It seems a bit odd that a part that has little use would go bad so frequently on this vehicle. Ganted I'm not sure what the frequency rate is but I would like to be another voice filing a complaint. My manual states that I should avoid sudden stops bacuase this could cause my back breaks to lock and cause accident, serious injury or even death. Yet their is nothing the dealer could do to help! well maybe you can!!. This issue happened on Feb. 20, 2004.

On the instrument panel, the abs light came on whle the brake light was flashing and beeping. Took it ot the dealer and the abs pump with controller was/is bad. The part with labor is $1600. 00. After some research, this part goes bad alot and is a major safty issue. If you brake hard the rear wheels will lock up and the car could spin out of control. This issue happened on 04/20/05.

Air Brake Abs Warning Light problem of BMW 325
The car involved is a 2004 BMW 325i. There was crash involved with this problem. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is WBAAZ334X4_. : the contact stated that while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle accelarated without effort. There was emergency braking which resulted in the vehicle hitting a concrete support parking structure on the front right side of the vehicle. The vehicle almost continued over the edge of the parking structure which was two stories above the ground. Subsequently, while the vehicle was being driven home the rear abs brake lights and the brakes lights on the dashboard illuminated. During this period, the vehicle slowed down without applying pressure to the brake. Also, the vehicle surged forward. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer and it was examined. According to the dealer, the vehicle would need diagnostic testing at a charge before the brakes chip can be replaced. The dealer determined that there was no abnormal code in the computer. Air Brake Abs Warning Light problem of Buick Century
My 2002 Buick Century developed a problem with the following lights coming on - service engine light, anti lock. I had the car at my local Buick dealer and repairs was made to the right front wheel. This work was done under warrunty. I had to make several trips back to the dealer to get the lights stopped from coming on, now the lights are coming on again and it is very annoying. The problem started last may 2003. It was corrected around August 2003 now in April 2004 it is starting again. I have no idea if I am having brake problems with these lights intermittently coming on. They are constantly coming on in damp weather. This air brake abs warning light problem happened on Wednesday, May. 7, 2003.

The vehicle is a 1999 Buick Century. The VIN of this vehicle was 2G4WS52M8X_. Service vehicle, abs and traction control light came on. The light would go out at first but now is steady. Took car to dealer who said it was broken wire under hood. They have found many with same problem. A wire harness is to short and the wire eventually fails. Abs does not work during this failure. Air Brake Abs Warning Light problem of Jaguar S-type
The vehicle having this issue was a 2003 Jaguar S-type. The abs light and a message stating abs fault/park brake fault would display while driving at highway speeds. When the car was stopped and re-started, the message would re-set. This happened several times (> 5), and the dealer did not fix for some time because they never got to see the message. We noticed that the problem occurred during or after a heavy rain. The dealer thought there might have been a problem with a sensor on the wheel. Ultimately, the dealer replaced the abs module. This air brake abs warning light issue occurred Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003.
