car   Air Brake Foot Control problem of Chevrolet Tracker

There was crash involved with this Chevrolet Tracker. 2000 Chevrolet Tracker, have experienced several occasions when quickly depressing the brakes caused the front wheels to lock putting the vehicle into a 10 to 12' skid. The first two times I was leaving a driveway slowly rolling forward to enter a hwy when I decided not to go. When quickly depressomg the brakes the vehicle's front tires locked sending the vehicle into a skid. One time to the right and one time to the left. Both times the pavement was dry and I have been very slowly rolling foreward to see if all was clear. The other problem is that the brake and accelerator are on the same level. On two occasions I have hit the brake pedal and contacted the accelerator at the same time. The first time the vehicle skidded out of control to the left for 10 to 12 feet. The second time I had just made a slow 90 degree turn onto a dry cement driveway directly in front of a garage. The driveway was approx. 25 to 30 feet long. This time my foot moved from the brake pedal onto the accelerator causing the vehicle to jump foreward. When I hit the brake hard the vehicle skidded out of control to the left, leaving black tire marks 8 to 10 feet long. At the end of the skid marks you can clearly see that the tires dug into the dry cement, yet the vehicle continued after the mark for several feet striking the garage. The accident caused minimal damage to the front bumper of the Tracker, but caused extensive damage to the garage. I have documented this situation on film and filed a claim with my insurance company. This air brake foot control problem happened on Mar. 23, 2005.

car   Air Brake Foot Control problem of Jeep Grand Cherokee

The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Gas pedal depressed during braking when wearing boots or larger size shoes resulting in acceleration instead of braking. Several times I have pressed on the brake only to have my right portion of the tread on my size 11 construction boot was also pressing gas pedal causing the truck to accelerate. Gas pedal and brake pedal seem too close together. This is my third Grand Cherokee('93, '96, recent '02) and only this '02 seem to have this problem. This is probably the cause of others reporting accelerating symptoms. This issue happened on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003.

car   Air Brake Foot Control problem of Toyota Sienna

The vehicle is a 2005 Toyota Sienna. There was crash involved with this Toyota Sienna. I was backing out of a parking space in a parking lot. I put the car in reverse, place my foot on the brake, put the car into drive, lifted my foot off of the brake and the car immediately began to accelerate without my foot even touching the accelerator. When I put my foot on the brake, the brake pedal went all the way down to the floor without stopping the vehicle. The van struck another vehicle that was parked in the parking lot, went over the curb of the parking lot, down an embankment into a ravine and headed towards a tree. The passenger that was in the front seat then reached over and put the car into park, which brought the car to a stop. The whole time the car was moving I was trying to stop the car by pumping the brakes, but they did not work. The car was accelerating the entire time until the passenger stopped it by shifting into park. The airbags did not deploy. Damage was done to the front passenger bumper and side of the car, the driver's side front tire exploded. After the accident, the brakes did function. The failure date was May 25, 2005.
