Approx. 3 weeks after we purchased our new 2007 Jeep Wrangler we experienced a premature engagement of the esp system under normal driving conditions at a speed of 35mph. Approx. 2 weeks later we experienced the same problem while exiting the interstate at a low speed. We immediately returned the vehicle to Chrysler service and they replaced the rear wheel speed sensors. Again, 1 week later the same problem occured while exiting the interstate. Chrysler service replaced the steering wheel angle sensor. The 4th incident occurred 2 weeks later while pulling out of a parking lot. The service department cannot duplicate or repair the problem. We filed a lemon law claim with Chrysler that is currently under settlement. We have been told they will be replacing the vehicle and the paperwork is being processed. On 7/1/05 I was driving my 2000 Land Rover discovery series ii on the left lane of I-75 s, in clear weather, on dry pavement, near the 68 mile marker in kentucky(copassengers-my wife & son) enroute to tennessee. Around 1. 45 pm traffic ahead started slowing down. I was driving at about 60 mph, and applied the brake; the vehicle immediately started fishtailing and swerving badly. I did not feel the pulsing of the abs; the vehicle swerved across the right lane & shoulder, hit the guard rail on the right, bounced back, & tipped over on to the right (passenger side) on the shoulder. My wife sustained injuries to her right hand & arm due to the tipping over of the vehicle and the shattering of the front passenger window glass, & was taken to a local hospital by ems ambulance. She will undergo hand surgery. The vehicle sustained serious body damage and was towed to a local towing yard. It was determined not drivable by my auto insurance company appraiser(the vehicle is still capable of starting and moving forward at this time). We (my wife and I ) informed Land Rover north America in maryland of the incident; they said they could not send anyone out to examine it. They suggested we contact any local Land Rover dealership with a service center for a detailed examination of the vehicle. The (closest available) lexington Land Rover dealer/service center refused, citing conflict of interest! the vehicle remains in the towing yard, awaiting a move to a salvage yard soon. No other vehicles/people were involved. We got back home to pennsylvania after the accident. We would like to find out if the abs failure contributed to this accident. Land rover has not made any attempt to contact our auto insurance company, or showed any interest in tackling this problem, other than giving us an address to write to. Therefore, nothing has been done to address/correct this problem so far. This air brake wheel speed sensor problem happened on Jul. 1, 2005.

car   Air Brake Wheel Speed Sensor problem of Saturn SL2

The vehicle having this issue was a 2000 Saturn Sl2. For 3 years I have been complaining to Saturn about my Saturn s series cars. One is an Sl2 the other is a Saturn wagon. In both cases when the weather has been either snowy or rainy or the roads have been slick when I try to turn the corner in the cars the brakes do not engage initally. I hear a clunking like noise which Saturn has yet to be able to reproduce & then my attempts to engage the brakes do not work as soon as they should. This has caused quite a bit of concern since I could be on the freeway when this happens or just driving my children to school & when I take a corner the brakes do not fully engage. I was first told that I needed to replace the brakes which I did & it still didn't make a difference beyond the first month after being repaired. I have been told it was the tires again replaced but problem still has come back. I was told the roads are just slick due to the first rains, snow etc of the season. I have taken it to Saturn who says they can't find the problem & although I have a history of complaining about it they have yet to offer a solution. Thankfully we have yet to have an accident since I have on occasion resorted to using the emergency brake in order to avoid a collision but since I saw the article about the gm trucks having the same problem I thought that maybe someone would listen to me & have the s series Saturns checked out as well. I showed a copy of the gm truck brake recall to my local Saturn & asked them to check this on my car & was told it wasn't necessary since it couldn't possibly be this as I don't have a truck. I have listed the most recent incident date & the number of failures for this current year. It was Apr. 13, 2005 when this air brake wheel speed sensor issue happened.
