My 1997 Infiniti Qx4 started to have a side to side wobble. It got worse over time. Now I can barely drive on the freeway. At speeds of about 50-65 it wobbles to the point that it is very dangerous. I bought an Infiniti for the safety and I do not feel safe in it anymore. I have replaced shocks, tires, have done tire balancing, wheel alignment. None have done anything to remotely fix the problem. I can not afford to fix this problem. A recall is needed for the pathfinder and Qx4. The car was a 2005 Lexus Rx330. Excessive bouncing and swaying. I think all Toyota cars have a potential to have faulty shocks. I had bought a new camry and always wondered why it had a lot of body roll and excessive bouncing. To make it a short story, I ended up replacing the front shocks that improved handling dramatically. Here I am, owning another new Toyota product Lexus RX 330, having a same problem. I cannot drive it any faster than 35 mph on 45 mph zone curvy country roads because the car tends to roll left and right a lot. It was Tuesday, August 8, 2006 when this front suspension shock absorber issue occurred.

The vehicle involved is a 1999 Lexus Rx300. I own a 99 Rx300 awd. Purchased the car from a dealership corporation that also owned Lexus of serramonte in sf bay area at 68k miles. The vehicle apparently had all services done on time as my dealer noted and was serviced at their facility since the vehicle left their dealer lot. So the car was locally owned and repaired. At 74k my transmission started to act up where I found the car to be bellow 20% of its temperature the car will either not shift into 4th or over drive. My dealer told me to replace the transmission fluid but that only worsened the problem where if the engine is bellow that temperature it will start jumping when going from 1st to 2nd, and takes a while to shift between gears. The dealer tells me that this is normal operation of any car at 90k miles. Now my biggest problem is that my car stalls if itã‚s at it normal temperature after starting it up, it will die, unless I keep the pedal depressed for fuel to flow into the engine after the starter disables. I owned plenty of cars well over 20 and never had any of my vehicles ever had a similar problem except one car that has been totaled twice in its entire life. This is not a normal vehicle behavior nor appropriate dealer response when trying to keep a great customer relationship. This creates a lot of distrust and feeling that you're having your leg pulled. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by the vehicle manufacturer and turned into a recall, as I am finding out that 90% of 99-2000 Lexus Rx300's out there have the exact same problem. This front suspension shock absorber issue occurred Friday, November 24, 2006.

The car was a 1998 Mercury Sable. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1MEFM55U3W_. 98 Sable wagon. (spring plate gave and spring blew out tire and damaged front end rods or arms, shock according to Ford service analysis) and left front end almost sitting on the ground. According to Ford analysis). I thought it was just a blow out so I had aaa come to tow it to my dealership. When the aaa driver saw the damage, he said he's seen this several times and that there was a safety recall out for this specific situation. Ford dealership looked up recalls for my car and said there was one for what happened to my car but it was for 99 and newer models and that there was nothing they could do about repairing it under a recall. I called Ford corporate customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do and wouldn't invest their money into repairing my car. Fortunate for me the incident occurred while backing out of my driveway. If it were on the highway, it would have been a catastrophe. I've been told that the 98s and 99s are very similar, so I don't understand why Ford wouldn't make the repairs at their cost under the safety recall. This front suspension shock absorber problem happened on 12/21/2007.

The switch would not reset in an off position which caused the lights to remain on once the vehicle had been turned off. The steering wheel vibrated frequently, even when traveling on a straight highway. The consumer also had repeated problems with the engine not starting and always assumed the problem was the battery which the consumer had replaced multiple times. The low oil pressure lamp illuminated frequently, even when the oil was not low. The recall was only for v6 engine's, however the consumer experienced the same problem with her 4 cylinder engine. Toyota Tundra 4wd truck with standard rims (steel) and michelin tires. While driving interstate 80 at speed (fast lane) the entire truck began shaking. It was as bad as having a flat tire. I have a great deal of experience driving off road and I handled the problem without incident but I suspect many drivers would be frightened/panicked enough to result in an accident . My theory is the truck when driven at certain speeds on certain surfaces becomes unstable because of unfavorable harmonics which are generated by the suspension/tire/road surface interaction. I like the truck otherwise and intend to keep it but I think someone is going to lose their life or be seriously injured (if it has not happened already). Toyota may be liable and it would behoove Toyota to be proactive in this regard. The salesperson I spoke with at magnussens dealership in auburn California (glenn tuccinardi) assured me this would not be a problem given my standard rim size at the time I bought the vehicle. I knew there was a vibration/instability problem on some Tundras before I bought it based on websites I visited which is why I raided the question at the time of the sale. Glenn tuccinardi assured me that happened only on Tundras with larger rims. He is incorrect. It was March 7, 2008 when this front suspension shock absorber issue occurred.

The car was a 2000 Volkswagen Passat. I have had my 2000 vw Passat for a little over two years and it has been a money pit! I have had so many problems since a month or so after I bought my car. I bought the car from a private party, test drove the car, had it checked out by a mechanic, and I have put thousands of dollars into the car. I bought the car just before my senior year in high school thinking I made a wonderful choice, and I had to replace a new right side boot just after a month of owning the car. The check engine light/abs/airbag kept coming on and beeping at me, and I had to buy a whole new brain to the car over $1500. I had to replace the timing belt way before the mile warranty, oil leaks which ruined some wires, new shocks/shock absorbers, now the window will go part way down, but will no longer go up. . . And my headlights are fogged up which I have noticed on all other 2000 Passats. . . ! many things have gone wrong with this car. I am so frustrated with the car. I do not recommend a vw to anyone! I am going into the second year of college and have spent most of my savings on this piece of junk. I think after fixing a part of the car that it should run without any problems. Since I have put so much money into this car I cannot afford to get a reliable car. There is something seriously wrong with vw and the recalls! as far as I am concerned the whole car should be recalled!!!!. The failure date was Sunday, July 15, 2007.

The vehicle involved is a 2003 Audi Rs6. VIN of the vehicle was WUAPV54B93_. Drc suspension leak - required two trips to dealer to fix it due to bad valve installed the first time - drc was Audi's suspension that was on the Rs6 and rs4 cars. These appeared to be problems with the system in terms of # of failures ,and if the dealers could adequately fix the problem, the car could be unsafe to drive if the shocks failed on a longer trip. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is WUAPV64B23_. My 2003 Audi Rs6 has a drc issue, which involves my shock absorbers leaking fluid and is creating a bouncing effect that is getting worse and worse. The vehicle has an uneasy and unsafe feel at low and high speeds, almost like the car is on ice skates and meandering all over the road. After reading many forums, it can be concluded that 77% or more of the 2003 Rs6 owners have and are experiencing drc failures that are resulting in huge repair costs ( for vehicles out of warranty). I called the Audi exchange in highland park illinois, and the cost to repair these inherent leaking systems is $2200 per axle. This front suspension shock absorber problem happened on 01/29/2008.

The car involved is a 1999 Buick Lesabre. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 1G4HP52KXX_. The car shows an annoying and unsafe condition when it is driven at the speed limit on an irregular but properly paved road surface. The shock absorbers will allow several cycles fo bouncing before they dampen out the response to bumps. On several occasions I have had to stop the car in order to regain control, or to prevent bottoming out of the underside. I brought the car in to a local Buick service center where it was diagnosed as "normal soft ride" and dismissed. Pursuing this directly with Buick has yielded the fact that they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. They have assigned a case number ( 000013545) and promised to advise me when the corrective action becomes available. It seemsprudent, however to document this with NHTSA. This issue happened on Tuesday, June 1, 1999.
