car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Chevrolet Equinox

The car involved is a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. I have had all kind of trouble out of this vehicle. First it was the wheel bearings. Change one an not long after have to change another. Have changed about 4. Three on one wheel an one on the other. And now have to change another that I can tell. Then it started with brakes recently. They would stick. Had brakes replaced that didn't fix the problem. Brake lights came on vehicle. Then went off haven't came on since but brakes have stuck more than one time. Very dangerous. Now to get with the air in the vehicle that I have seen several complain about. While car is sitting still the vehicle will stay warm an warm air blowing out. Where it has been cold when driving the car the temp would go down on vehicle making the air blow out cool an I about freeze to death driving. Windows fog up fast. Need a recall if so many people are have the same issue/issues. Can cause major problems if not addressed or fixed. I don't let me kids ride in the car with me anymore cause of this. It was Friday, January 24, 2014 when this front suspension wheel bearing issue happened.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Chrysler Pacifica

The vehicle is a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. On March 20th 2012 I was driving home from work when the driver side strut mount broke, slightly allowing the strut to damage my hood and break my inner tie rod end. I immediately parked the vehicle called aaa and had it towed to my house. On March 23 I purchased a new strut mount and on the 24th replaced the broken one with the new one. Unfortunately I did the work myself and didn't notice my inner tie rod broke. Which led to my vehicle needing to be checked by my mechanic about 8 months later when my outer tie rod end gave way damaging in the process the wheel bearings and the driver side axle. I had everything fixed and ran into no more problems until July 17th 2013 when my front end alignment started to slip and a noticeable knocking noise started coming from my front end. I immediately set up an appointment to have my vehicle serviced at kelly Chrysler dealership in lehigh valley and they were able to get me in a week later. It took them roughly a week to fix my car. But they replaced my upper engine mount, front lower engine mount, l/f inner outer tie rod ends and removed a damaged exhaust shield. But they still couldn't' tell me why my alignment was off and what the knocking noise was. Towards the end of August my passenger side strut mount broke and I had it replaced right away. Then again in November this time completely ripping through the hood. Then again in February, March and now today 5/7/2014 I noticed the passenger side strut mount is on the verge of breaking again. After speaking to a couple of Pacifica owners in my area I have come to find out these problems are common along with engine shut offs and check engine lights being on for no reason. Its apparent that the 3/8th inch thick plate that the struts sit on are not adequate enough to handle the weight of the vehicles along with the constant jerking motion off the car from the sticky gas peddle. The failure date was Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Dodge Dakota

The car was a 2005 Dodge Dakota. The VIN of this vehicle was 1D7HW28NX5_. I bought this 2005 Dakota new. I have spent thousands in repairs and there is always something wrong with it. I've also never seen anything rust like this truck. This particular issue I am fighting now. At speeds between 55 - 75 intermittently the truck will begin to vibrate. If you take your foot off the gas it gets worse. If you then apply the brakes the steering wheel begins to shake almost violently, and the brake pedal pulses. If I slow down to about 30 mph it stops and may happen again quickly or may not happen again for a while. I have replaced the rotors and calipers and tie rod ends and gotten an alignment. Still the issue exists. I have new michelin tires. I have also already had to replace lower ball joints and front wheel bearings. I have replaced the rotors and calipers 3 times already on this truck. It has less than 65k miles on it. No one seems to be able to figure out what the problem is. I will never, ever buy another Chrysler / Dodge product. This was my first and will be my last. This problem occurred on Feb. 3, 2014.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Honda Accord

The car involved was a 2012 Honda Accord. I noticed noise, wheel vibrations and steering problems. The Honda service department said that I had a bad wheel bearing on the left side and replaced it. After I received the car back from the shop, I noticed the car was pulling to the left, wheel vibrations, loose steering wheel and making noise. The car did not shift between gears properly and fluctuated between rpms randomly (even when at idle). I took it back to the Honda service department. This time they reset the computer in the car and performed idle relearn procedure; adjusted the toe on all four wheels. They also found that the rear rotors were out of round and "machine rear brake rotors" but reused the brake pads. I do not feel safe in this vehicle. I have scheduled another service appointment for 8/28. However, I am still having the idle rpm, shifting problems, wheel vibration issues, steering problems, noise issues as well as several other problems. This manufacture should be forced to issue a recall. This problem occurred on Aug. 6, 2012.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Hyundai Elantra

The vehicle is a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. At around 38000 miles I noticed that I was hearing a lot of noise out of the rearend of the vehicle. Thinking it was a bad wheel bearing I took it to a dealer and they said my rear tires were bald and needed replaced. I took a look at the rear tires after leaving the dealership and noticed it was a very uneven and irregular tire wear pattern so I took it back to the dealership and they told me it was because I needed to rotate my tires more often (tires were rotated every 3000 miles when oil was changed) and that was why the irregular wear on only the 2 rear tires. The wear appeared as wavy spots where the tire had no tread then right next to that it had plenty of tread left. So I gave in bought all 4 brand new tires and after 1500 miles I went ahead and rotated the tires noticing that the rear tires had already began to wear in the exact same pattern so I took it back to the dealership and they told me it was a bad set of tires. Needless to say I took it to a local tire shop and had them check the alignment on the back tires even though it is a solid rear axle. The alignment check showed that the rear wheels do not track straight and that is what is causing the rear tires to wear very fast. I took this information back to the dealership which refused to check the alignment on the rear wheels because it is a solid axle vehicle and there is no adjustment for it. They continued to blame the tires and rotation schedule for the problem. After doing more research on the web this is a known problems with the Hyundai Elantras and the dealerships refuse to fix it even knowing that problem with this particular vehicle. If a tire ends up blowing out due to the rear axle not being mounted correctly I could see that being a big problem. This front suspension wheel bearing problem happened on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Infiniti M35

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Infiniti M35. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was JNKAY01E66_. 1. Went in for brake work and afterwards, the front wheel bearing started to make noises. Took back to dealer and was instructed that the front wheel bearing was bad. 2. Bad front wheel bearing, seems to occur quite often on Infiniti m series models. The consequence is that the bearing could lock up and either throw the vehicle off path from the direction being traveled and potentially overheat and catch fire. 3. The part was replaced, but I do believe this is way premature for wheel bearings to be going out. Brakes, I understand, but not wheel bearings. This problem occurred on Monday, Apr. 4, 2011.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Jeep Compass

The car is a 2007 Jeep Compass 4x4. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 1J8FF47W87_. I'm just going to list the problems with dates to make it easier to get a visual of the problem! 2009 4x4 indicator light came on - oil leaking out of some 4x4 box/bearings missing went bad 50,000 miles can't remember the exact name of the part, but could call the dealer and find out what it was, 3/7/12 - cv nut lock covers needed replaced - rusted out, left outer tie rod replaced, 3/17/13 - both control arms replaced, 4/3/13 - right tie rod (inner and outer) replaced, 1/17/14, front engine cradle replaced, 3/28/14 - right wheel bearing replaced, both controls arms replaced again, axle replaced, 5/16/14 - notified that right tie rod needed replaced again. This is by far one of the most poorly designed vehicles that I have owned. It currently has 80,000 miles on it and all of the things replaced should not have needed replaced and not have needed to be replaced twice to boot! I would never again purchase or recommend purchase to anyone. Parts going bad this quickly is a danger to any other parts that may go unnoticed until it's too late!. The failure date was Friday, March 29, 2013.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Kia Motor Soul

The vehicle is a 2010 Kia Motor Soul. Crash was involved with the Kia Motor Soul. The VIN of this vehicle is KNDJT2A25A_. I am an owner of a 2010 kia Soul, purchased in July 2009. Immediately noticed with the slightest moisture on road, car could barely handle at low speeds and the traction light and low air pressure light consistently came on and off. Was told it was "not a problem" by dealer and would wear off. My car was involved in a low speed accident which side swept the right side of the car at a speed of appx 10 mph and drove the left front wheel into curb. Car had passenger side body damage and some heavy scuffing to three wheels which body shop repaired. In October of 2010, clipped curb traveling at appx 20 mph. Severe damage to both right side wheels, had to replace them as well as control arm which seemed to be ridiculous amount of damage for such a small incident however had repairs and alignment done, alignment couldn't be done to specs, suggested I take to dealer. Took car into dealer for allignment and to have sound in front right wheel well investigated. Dealer stated rear toe of car was "out" need to have a body shop look at it. Back to body shop which revealed entire rear axle needed to be replaced and that front wheel bearing blown. Had axle replaced took to dealership to have wheel bearing replaced and another allignment, rear of car would not align to specs. Both dealership and body shop states that either the original specs for car were wrong or perhaps either the original axle or the replacement axle from kia was built out of specs. My concern is that this is a lightly driven car in town only involved in two very minor accidents and there is this significant, expensive damage only to be told it may have never been right in the first place? I've seen many more complaints about the suspension and low profile tires on internet, thought it was worth reporting. I do not feel safe in this car. It was Wed., Jul. 15, 2009 when this front suspension wheel bearing issue occurred.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Land Rover Range Rover

The car involved was a 2004 Land Rover Range Rover. Vehicle identification number (VIN): SALME11444_. Bought this vehicle for wife brand new for $80,000. First 38,000 miles best car ever owned. Then the landslide began. First bad vibration front end we pay $1,300 for wheel bearings. The transmission cooler rusted out. Our fault salty roads $1,100. 00 next the radiator goes $1,800 on us. By now 72,000 miles on it. Keep in mind my wife only uses to goto grocery store and pick kids up from school. God forbid we ever took it off road or thru the plains of africa. Now the biggy starts engine surging for no reason, vibration in steering wheel. Yes tires are new and balanced. Then the notorious transmission failsafe. Limpmode. Safety mode. How about sucker mode. Take it to dealer and they say need new transmission. I freak and second mechanic there looks at it and said its the transfer case motor $3,100. Oh yea that would be on us as well. So I say I'll tell you what put it in writing, that for sure this is the problem and if fixed all my transmission problems go away and if they don't its on you guys until its fixed. Yes you know what they said. I mean what happened to honesty and integrity. Love your neighbor as yourself. Stand by your work. Look I knew going into this car it was high maintenance but it does not even have 100,000 miles on it. Never fixed. Somedays it acts up all day other times once or twice it limps very sporadic. Pretty much a weatherby car. Whether or not it will act up or not. Ashamed to sell it and give someone else the problems. Tried telling people about problems and they said they would give me $7,000 carmax would not touch it actually refused to appraises it even though it was the cleanest they have seen. Issue the auction had a lemon flag on all the rangerovers with 70,000 miles or more. Nice!. It was Mon., Apr. 12, 2010 when this front suspension wheel bearing issue occurred.

car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Lexus SC430

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is JTHFN48Y92_. I own a 2002 Lexus Sc430 which has bridgestone potenza runflat tires on it. I put on a new set of tires 1 year ago and 17,000 miles late, the vehicle is all over the road, tires wear excessively on the insides, and I've had it aligned about 3 times in that 1 year. A friend of mine had the same vehicle and he had to get rid of it for the same problem. The tires become very noisy and it sounds like all the wheel bearings are bad. The local dealership is trying to tell me that this high performance tire only lasts 10,000 miles, but when I brought the car to an alignment expert at another repair shop, he stated that is is definitely an alignment problem with the car and that there was plenty of tread life left on the rest of the tires. car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Nissan Pathfinder

I was on the frwy. And my Nissan Pathfinder started to wobble like, it was going to flip over. I was driving about 60-65 and was headed in a straight direction. I took my foot off of the accelerator and the wobble seemed to go away. I was on the frwy. So I sped up to the legal limit, and now I'm going around a curve and, the wobble was intense , it scared me me to death. Since, I have had the struts, shocks replaced twice. I've done a lot of research on this wobble. . . It is called the death wobble. . . It is a problem with the materials used making, the bushings in the rear suspension. Even when these bushings (the same material bushings) are replaced it can and will happen again. People driving around me when this wobble starts. . . They cannot get away from me fast enough. This is very expensive to repair especially, most mechanics do process of elimination, starting with shocks, tires, struts, upper and lower control arms, rear arm assembly, ball joints and wheel bearings need I say more. On ask. Com, the death wobble is well known. This needs to be investigated. This is the second Pathfinder I have owned , I purchase Nissan products because they are good for 2 to 300k. I love my Pathfinder , but I don't want to die in it or have an accident, killing anybody . The bushings need to be made of some other material so that this will quit happening. When all is stable, it starts all over again within a few thousand miles. It was 03/03/2010 when this front suspension wheel bearing issue occurred.

Two months later (March 2014) I was back at the dealer and my right axle and right axle seal were broken again. That is three axles in nine months! the assistant service manager at Subaru told me this was not abnormal; that the car has a "design flaw" where the axle boot sits very close to the catalytic converter so it heats up, which causes the axle to crack and break. car   Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of Audi S4

The vehicle having this issue was a 2001 Audi S4. Normal day to day driving has produced failure of two sets of front wheel bearings on this car. The original equipment made noise at about 30,000 miles and failed completely at 62,000 miles. The second set I have now are rumbling and grinding now and they have only been on the car for 20,000 miles. Consequence of a wheel bearing failure is loss of control (steering) of the vehicle. This is after running a car wearing ear plugs because the bearing noise makes the interior noise is so loud there could be hearing loss from extended trips. Dealer only replaced bearing after it failed and welded itself to the wheel housing. I have the fried wheel bearing from one side and the housing it welded itself to. I also still have the second set because I am running on them and they are making the same rumbling, moaning, grinding noise the first set made. It was Wednesday, May. 26, 2004 when this front suspension wheel bearing issue happened.
