car   Suspension problem of Chevrolet Equinox

The car is a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle had a crash. Was involved in a mva and driver was traveling 50-60mph when her car hit the front end driver side and air bag failed to deploy. Since then air bag sensor turns on and off when there is a passenger in the seat . Passenger weighing over 130 lbs. This is a big safety hazard and is scary to think that this car has yet to be recalled!! will the air bag go off next time something like that happens again??!! gm is wrong for recalling every other vehicle but this one!! power locks do not unlock or lock ever! I always have to manually lock and unlock each one. Safety issue again! and last but not least, there is an electrical issue causing everything in the car to go out every month or two. Recall this car before someone else gets injured. The failure date was Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012.

car   Suspension problem of Chevrolet 1500

The vehicle was a 2004 Chevrolet 1500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Chevrolet 1500 is 2GCEK19T14_. There has always been a knocking noise, that can be felt in the steering and brake pedal. The dealer replaced a shaft that connected to the steering sector. The fix corrected it for a while. The problem came back. I went back to the dealer and was told the part needed to be removed and greased every 15000 miles. I said ,why does it not have grease fittings? over the last 10 years I have talked to numerous people who have the same problem. I sent gm an e-mail about this problem, never got an answer. I do get letters from gm wanting me trade for a new one. Why pay $40 to $50 thousand for a vehicle that the manufacturer wont stand behind? thanks richard avery. This suspension problem happened on May. 6, 2004.

car   Suspension problem of Chrysler Pacifica

The car was a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 2A4GM68496_. Took my 2006 Pacifica in for inspection. The engine cradle is rusted through and unsafe. I found out that there is extended coverage on some of these cars. I called Chrysler and was told I should pay for it (2500. 00) now and save my receipts because there may be a recall someday that will cover my car. They obviously know this is a major problem but are not standing behind their product. I have found several hundred complaints on multiple websites about this same issue and even found a petition on change. Org, which I signed. I also found that several people are trying to put together a class action lawsuit, count me in. This issue happened on May 20, 2014.

car   Suspension problem of Dodge Ram 2500

The car is a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. My Dodge truck goes into a violent shaking death wobble when I hit a bump on the freeway. It bounces and shakes uncontrollably until I slow down to approx. 25mph. Its dangerous and scary and there doesn't seem to be any known cure. Chrysler promised me theyd help me with the problem in 2011 but couldn't figure out what was causing it. Now theyre turning their back on me and saying the truck is too old. Iv been trying to fix the problem since 2007. This suspension issue occurred May. 8, 2014.

car   Suspension problem of Ford Escape

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Ford Escape. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 1FMYU94136_. Began to notice a rattling noise/clunking in right rear corner of vehicle. Took the vehicle to our mechanic who told us that the right rear wheel well was completely rusted through and the shocks were exposed. Only the right rear wheel was rusted. Informed by our mechanic that the vehicle was not safe to drive and we would need to have it towed to the body shop. When we contacted the body shop and said we had an issue with the under body on our Ford Escape he new immediately that it was the right rear wheel well because it was the 3rd Ford Escape with the exact same problem in less than 2 months. We were fortunate that we only had to wait 3 days for the part as we were told that the last 2 Ford Escape owners had to wait 6 weeks because the part was on back order from Ford. Looked online and there were hundreds of complaints for Ford Escape with exact issue (always only the right rear wheel well) from 2004 on. Obviously this is a recall issue that should be address by Ford before someone is seriously injured or killed. It was May. 12, 2014 when this suspension issue occurred.

car   Suspension problem of GMC Envoy

The vehicle is a 2003 GMC Envoy. GMC is suppose to be quality however, the rear supension starts out getting lower and lower until the rear suspension dropped to the point that the vehicle was unsafe to be driven. Because the truck was sitting on the rear tires and if the vehicle were to be driven, the tires would blow out and cause a crash and possibly a fatality! there are several complaint and concearns about the same issue yet nothing is being done. This suspension problem happened on May. 13, 2014.

car   Suspension problem of GMC Acadia

The car involved is a 2008 GMC Acadia. Bought this life altering mess of a vehicle in June 2013 with 77k miles. Since that time a wide spectrum of issues have arose and costed me for than just money. Windshield wiper quit working and needed to be fixed (I now see that was a recall) constant electric issues in using beeping, lighting up at inappropriate times, not registering a grown adult in passenger seat. Also, leaking transmission fluid. Gm did cover that charge which was no help with the rear end that had to be replaced at a cost of nearly $3000. Transmission still (before leak "fixed") and after will read idle transmission hot at many times. Leaking water when we receive heavy rains. Leaking comes from drivers side airbag "label") I have been financially strapped because of this vehicle I had worked and saved so hard for just trying to keep my job! I need my vehicle to work and my life is at risk when I'm forced to get behind the wheel because of these issues that gm is aware of. With the money I've spent (I'm a single working mother with two young sons) because of gm turning a blind eye I am in dire need of the proper resolution to this year long devastation of preventable events. Please assist me in this fore I'm unable to go further with continuing to fix problems that thousands of other owners are having with the same vehicle. Thank you. In 2011 my children and myself lost our home to a devastating flood that rocked our city and as of Feb 2014 we were finally able to move out of the camper and get a home. I cannot prevent a flood and all the pain it caused myself and my children but I will not cease to fight for what it right. That is replacing my vehicle with equal, reliable safe vehicle immediately! after all, this was completely preventable and shouldve been fixed before now. Please help me. Thank you for your time. This suspension issue occurred 07/01/13.

car   Suspension problem of Acura TL

The car was a 2006 Acura Tl. Since the day of the car purchased in 2006 the steering was very harder than other cars we used before and consulted with the dealer. I was told that Acura Tl is a sports car and the steering will be harder than other manufactures. This problem continued and a recall from the manufacture replaced power steering hose which was defective. I contacted dealer multiple times and was told that the nothing to worry; it is normal for this model. When the situation got really bad, I took it back to the dealer when the mileage was around 120000 miles, I was told that the power steering rack is leaking oil out the end seals and the proper correction is replacement of power steering rack and a possible damage to the pump due to low fluid level. The estimated cost was $1650. 00. I had a very hard time for driving this car for many years and come up with $1700. 00 to fix it. Also the bushing were torn and popped through. According to service technician torn bushing was a design issue for 2004-2008 models and Acura changed the body style later to correct the problem. In order to fix this wobbling/shaking problem the estimated cost is $681. 00. (due to defecitive body style). According the dealers and technicians I contacted, I was told that these problems are vey seldom and they are due to manufacturing problems. As a customer I have to come up with around $2500. 00 to fix a defective luxury car cost me more than $35000. 00 in 2006. What a shame. This problem occurred on Sep. 8, 2008.

car   Suspension problem of Acura TL

I have encountered an unsafe condition on my 2003 Acura Tl (made by Honda). This condition was shown to me by mechanic who indicated that the vehicle is unsafe to drive due the front passenger cross frame member is completely rusted through (photos are available upon request). The condition was found after 96,746 miles during a repair after a routine oil check. The apparent cause is the hose line connected to the air conditioning unit is positioned in such a way that it leaks onto the sub-frame, causing it to rust out. The cost for the frame repair was $ 2,052. 970, but what is more disturbing is that I was driving this car with my grandchildren and family under the risk of an accident without my knowledge of the condition. Also, disturbing is to know there may be other cars with the same issue being driven today. It was Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2014 when this suspension issue occurred.

car   Suspension problem of Hyundai Entourage

The car involved is a 2007 Hyundai Entourage. In April 2013, our Entourage was serviced to repair the front stabilzers that were causing the vehicle to shimmy at high speeds. I took the vehicle back again today (may 22, 2014) because the same part is causing the same problem. I am convinced this is related to recall 13v556000 suspension Nov 06, 2013. They refused to look at my vehicle unless I agreed to a $95 fee. After complaining to a manager about it, he agreed to inspect the vehicle at no charge. I was asked to wait while they looked at the vehicle. Ten minutes later, the service advisor came into the waiting room and said they didn't have enough mechnics today to look at the vehicle in a timely manner. I was asked to bring the Entourage back at a later date when I could leave the vehicle there because the vehicle had a few recalls for non-suspension and non-safety related issues. When I asked him what the recalls were for he just said it was for a heater core and a few other non-safety issues. Not once was the above suspension recall mentioned or eluded to. I have received a number of letters from the dealer stating they would give me a great trade-in deal on the Entourage van because it was a highly sought after vehicle. I now believe there are alterior motives for wanting me to trade-in the van. They don't want to deal with all the recall and technical issues related to the Entourage. What worries me is that were are not told about or receive recall notices or defective part issues. Nhtsa/odi would probably receive more complaints, but people probably aren't aware of the shady non-disclosure practices of dealerships. I have also submitted a separate complaint about other recalls for which we never received notice and may have been responsible for a crash back in December of 2011. There are more issues on this vehicle that I haven't submitted a complaint for, but will talk with you about if you so desire. The failure date was May. 22, 2014.

car   Suspension problem of Jeep Grand Cherokee

I purchased a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee on 4/29/14. On 5/8/14 (694 miles), I noticed black grease all over the inside of the front passenger side wheel. Upon closer inspection, I could see grease leaking from the cv boot all over the wheel, axle, shock and other suspension components. I took the vehicle to the dealer and a replacement half axle shaft was ordered to replace the defective one. I received the vehicle back with the new half axle shaft on 5/13/14. Two days later, on 5/15/14 (817 miles), I noticed the exact same problem on the front driver side wheel. I took the vehicle back to the dealer and another replacement half axle shaft was ordered. However, the part is now on back order and there is no estimate from the dealer on when it will be available. The dealer will not release the vehicle back to me until the defective half axle shaft is replaced with a new one. This is a major safety issue because the leaking grease could get on the brake discs which would result in problems stopping the vehicle and could potentially cause accidents and/or serious injuries. This is a common problem among new Jeep Grand Cherokee owners. It was 05/08/2014 when this suspension issue happened.. Read more...

The car involved was a 2003 Land Rover Range Rover. While vehicle is operating, the air suspension, abs, brake, hdc warnings lights come on and vehicle locks front right break by itself without any brake being applied, when is wet or ice on the road, the vehicle slides towards the right. I contacted Land Rover customer service number to report the problems that I am having with the vehicle as this is extremely dangerous specially during the winter months, and was told that my vehicle VIN number does not appear as part of the recall for bad yaw rate sensors on their database. I know now from what I have read online, that this a mayor situation with many Land Rover owners, but the automaker refuses to acknowledge the problem, what are they waiting for, for people to die due to this deffective yaw rate sensors? I hope that you can do something for all Land Rover owners and finally get Land Rover to acknowledge the problem and correctly address them. This problem occurred on Jan. 2, 2014.

car   Suspension problem of Lexus RX350

The car is a 2014 Lexus Rx350. 2. 5 months old with 2200 miles has a leaky front right shock. The dealer says the shocks are on back order nationwide and it will take 2 weeks to get the part. It sounds like a possible recall problem. They will replace it under warranty now, but this may happen again right after the warranty runs out. Car feels unsafe to drive, but the dealer insists it is safe. The noise and rough handling is more noticeable in low speeds, but it is felt at all speeds. The problem started on Saturday and got much worse by Monday. It was May. 17, 2014 when this suspension issue happened.

car   Suspension problem of Lexus RX350

The vehicle involved was a 2012 Lexus Rx350. I had reported rough ride to sales specialist and service dept. It was attributed to new suspension specifications and possible tire pressure. Tire pressure was lowered however rough ride persisted. During the 12 month 10k full maintenance service of Rx350 both rear shocks were found leaking and replaced (under warranty). Since I had been monitoring rough ride issues of other Rx350's on Lexus forum I reported the suspension replacement incident to sales specialist and I had recommended addressing with those who may need to know to investigate potential suspension problem (s). There was no follow up to my emailed concern. Subsequently on another online forum a participant mentioned having suspension replaced on rav4 (Toyota branded auto). Perhaps there may have been an issue with a specific production run with one of their suspension suppliers and may need to be addressed since it may result in handling and / or control of vehicle. This suspension issue occurred Monday, June 24, 2013.

car   Suspension problem of Lincoln Continental

The car involved is a 2000 Lincoln Continental. A neighbor pointed out that the automobile was sitting several inches lower than normal closer to ground while parked in driveway. I began to check on this every time I went to use the car. Sometimes vehicle was normal height, sometimes lower. I noticed that, sometimes, when I turned the ignition key there was sound heard like a fan operating. I asked questions of people who had owned similar models and was told that there was a problem in this model showing up 4 to 8 years after manufacture. This model has a ride control which involves three "ride control" settings. As cars age there are air bags under the car which control the feel of car (plush, normal, firm) and they adjust accordingly. Before I start the car, if it sits low, turning the ignition key causes the ride mechanism to raise the car frame a few inches above the tires. Sometimes in cold weather this does not seem to operate and a message shows "check ride control". The store that does routine service regularly tells me that this is a problem in Lincoln/fords and that repairs often cost $2000 or more. The car now has about 114,000 miles on it and this problem occurs more often. I believe this has become a safety issue, and I have been told that I am not the only owner having this problem. The car was purchased from another owner, whom I know, in about 2008. He had purchased it from a Ford dealer as a "program car" I believe in 2001. The failure date was Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

car   Suspension problem of Mazda Tribute

The vehicle was a 2006 Mazda Tribute. While driving to work I started to hear a banging sound from the back of my vehicle. It sounded like the back window was open & banging every time I hit a bump. I pulled over and made sure everything was shut. I proceeded to work but the banging persisted. When I got to work I checked the back compartment & removed my cargo incase that was culprit. On my drive home the banging still persisted. My husband looked at the vehicle and said that the shocks/struts were blown. I took it to the garage that night & it turns out that the passenger side rear wheel well was completely rusted through & there was no where for the shock to mount. When the mechanic pulled up my cargo mat in the back it is amazing that nothing fell out, the size of the hole from the rust is comparable to the size of a basketball. Welding is not even an option to repair this damage. There is no other rust or body damage to my vehicle. There was a protective coating on the inner wheel well to prevent this. The driver side is fine and is showing no sign of rust/rot. While searching the web for support I see this is a very common problem in the Ford escape and Mazda Tribute (virtually one in the same). When will something be done about this costly problem? as a side note, this car has been a problem since I bought it in 2006. I filed a magnus and moss warranty act suit against Mazda and won for numerous issues regarding the transmission and power train system. This problem occurred on 05/14/14.

car   Suspension problem of Mitsubishi Lancer

The car is a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer ralliart. As I was driving my car to work last week a light came on that looks like my tires are unbalanced. . ?. . . Thinking I might need new tires, I brought my car to the dealership. The dealership assured me that I did not need tires. I had my oil changed and my tires rotated including a front end alignment and an inspection. When I started to drive away from the dealership, a light came on again. I turned around and brought it right back. The dealer put my car on a machine and told me the issue is "code c161e" -intermittent issues with awd control pump and this part alone would cost $2000. 00. My car is a 2009 with only 31000 miles on it. The dealer told me that my three year warranty is up however I still have 5000 miles. How could this happen with such minimal miles? I drive my car to work and home mostly and take good care of it. When I researched this issue online I found multiple people with the same issue and have reported the issue. However, nothing seems to be getting resolved except bad feelings. If this is such a huge issue (as it seems to be online) why does Mitsubishi not do something about this. How can they just get away with a malfunctioning auto part that normal everyday people, still making car payments, can not afford. I would really appreciate anything you could do to help me get this issue repaired as I do not want to get rid of my car. I do not feel this should be the consumers problem but the manufacturers. Thank you very much for your time. This issue happened on 04/24/2014.

car   Suspension problem of Saturn ION

The vehicle is a 2006 Saturn Ion. There has been at least 4 times that while my car was idling at either a red light, stop sign, or what have you, my car would just shut off after after making a rough idling noise. This scared the crap out of me the first time it happened. If I were to shut my car off & turn it back on, it would then go away. It made me weary of driving because you never knew when or where that could happen. The second incident would be my power stewing. My car would "ding" and the power steering light would come on making my wheel stiffen up immediately. Again, if I would turn the car off and then back on again, the problem would stop. . . For a little bit. Started off at once or twice a week, then once a day maybe, now I can't even go a block from my house without it coming on. Frustrating and dangerous to say the least. It was Mar. 1, 2014 when this suspension issue happened.

car   Suspension problem of Subaru Outback

The car involved is a 2008 Subaru Outback. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 4S4BP61C18_. Carpet had bad spot upon purchase, told by dealer defect and nothing could be done. That spot is now a hole in the carpet. Seat material is very cheap and low quality started to wear before 1k. That too has left a hole in the seat. At 37k passenger cv boot went due to thin rubber boot followed by driver boot at 38k. Boot rubber is extremely thin compared to other manufacturers. When they go, they go quickly without warning the smell is horrific and the sticky residue left behind under the hood visually unappealing. As to the boots, our weather rubber car mats are thicker and certainly less expensive! at 68k clutch went; power-steering pump was leaking and a/c / alternator belts were cracked. This car has never missed a maintenance and has been immaculately cared for so imagine our disappointment. The clutch resulted in the car stalling in rush hour traffic. This car did not live up to the Subaru reputation of safety and quality. I would not entertain the thought of every purchasing another Subaru. The failure date was Monday, September 10, 2007.

car   Suspension problem of Subaru Legacy

The car was a 2012 Subaru Legacy. Vehicle vibrates and pulsates every time you apply the brakes while driving at speeds above 50 mph- vibrations are felt throughout the vehicle and the steering wheel. On March 11th; Subaru dealership technicians took a look at the problem and drove the vehicle and confirmed the steering wheel vibrations while braking on speeds above 50 mph, they also found all brakes at 7mm and front rotors with added material to it measuring above 0. 0008" - technicians recommended a simple resurface of rotors (charged at owners expense) or to wait until the condition worsen ??? (affecting other suspension, steering or brakes components) in order to repair the vehicle using the warranty. Currently my car has 22,345 and it already continues to pulsate every time I apply the brakes at speeds well above 50 mph. Nothing was say about the brake pads conditions or quality. I did noted on many Subaru forums online that many Subaru owners have experience this issue but it seems that no one has reported such issues to the NHTSA. It was 03/09/2014 when this suspension issue happened.

car   Suspension problem of Toyota 4runner

The car is a 2010 Toyota 4runner. No incident to report, but a complaint about the approach being taken by Toyota to remedy the rear suspension problem described in their safety recall #csj. Their plan is to adjust / tighten the rear lower suspension arm , then seal it with epoxy, thus making it no longer adjustable. This would preventy any future rear wheel adjustments / alignments, thus creating a new safety hazard. All over the country , the roads are in bad shape ; I have my vehicles re-aligned at least once a year . I am not interested in having Toyota " fix" my car so that I can't get it re-aligned. I think it is a pretty lame and cheap way to address the issue. Thank you for looking into this. This problem occurred on May 20, 2014.

There are thousands of premature failures of these shocks in the last five years. Rear shock failure creates dangerous handling problems, loss of braking performance, and damage to the vehicle. Stop bilstein from selling any more of these dangerous shocks! I have had nine rear shocks fail, and bilstein keeps sending out the same part as part of the lifetime warranty. car   Suspension problem of Jaguar XJ8

The VIN of this vehicle was SAJWA71B56_. A known defect in the manufacture of the 2004 through 2006 Jaguar Xj8s and needs to be recalled for repair in regard to this model's air suspension. In cold temperatures (30 degrees f or below), the air suspension system fails to keep the front end of the vehicle suspended. A red light on the instrument cluster lights up and the message center displays the warning, "vehicle too low". This particular incident occurred this morning, 11/12/2013, as I started my car (27 degrees f outside). Unfortunately, this happened to me 6 months ago while traveling on the interstate across country when the outside temperature dipped to 29 degrees f. I was going the speed limit of 70 mph at the time that the suspension suddenly dropped. It could have caused a major car accident. As soon as the outside temperature rises above 30 degrees f, the air suspension compressor kicks in and lifts the vehicle up to its appropriate height. This known defect in the manufacture of the air suspension is highly dangerous and a recall needs to be enacted against the manufacturer, Jaguar. I have discovered on the internet countless complaints of this problem. This suspension issue occurred Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013.

car   Suspension problem of Jaguar XF

The car involved was a 2013 Jaguar Xf. Crash was involved with this problem. On sept 27, 2013 around 7a. M. , I drove my car to the mail box where I pulled over on a road with a slight incline and up on the rounded curb, put it in park, opened the door, walk along the side of the car, crossed in front to retrieve my mail. After getting my mail, when I turned around to go back to the car, I saw it driving forward and crossing the road towards the other side! instinctively I jumped in the passenger side and was trying to reach the brake pedal when the car hit the curb, throwing me back a bit. The impact of the curb must have turned the wheels to the left and the car proceeded down an embankment and hit a tree which finally stopped the car. I contest that the car could not have originally been in drive when I got out of the car to retrieve my mail as I walked in front of it. I believe the gear popped out of park and voluntarily went into drive while I was retrieving my mail. This issue happened on 09/27/2013.
