I own a 1996 Hyundai Elantra. My ex purchased this vehicle from a used car lot. We have had the car for over 3 years. On Monday morning I was on my way to the dentist and noticed a very loud "loose bumping" sound. . I know that probably doesn't make sense. . . . Upon my quick return home I noticed that the driver rear tire (the entire thing) seemed to be loose and wobbly. . . I had a friend come and take a look to see what was wrong. After jacking the car up, with the car in the air and the tire still on the ground he thought that the strut was broken. So after further investigation, it was noticed that the strut mounting t the frame had fallen thru a rusted hole in the frame of my car. Distraught as I was, and with no help from the Hyundai dealer in the louisville area, I was out of luck on how to rectify this situation. Now I am still paying for a car that I can never drive. I am wanting to know if any other Hyundai owners have this problem. I mean the car is not even 10 years old. . . And the frame is rusting out on me. . . . . There are no other rust spots on the car anywhere. . . . I am just trying to understand why my car is broke and no one is able to help me fix it. This problem occurred on Nov. 3, 2003.

The vehicle involved is a 2001 Mercedes Benz S430. My wife was driving our mercedes 2001 S430 and the front suspension dropped all of a sudden on a back road in the middle of nowhere. First it had dropped so low it prevented steering and was difficult to put vehicle on the shoulder without damaging car. Then we had three towing companies which would not tow the vehicle because of liability to front end damage. I changed the relay through research and was able to get it up enough to be towed. Take into consideration this was taken four days to execute. Then I have never been so happy to have a vehicle towed in my life. Then by that time I new the strut tops have been an ongoing issue with the w220 mb. I had conveyed that to the newmarket, ontario. Canada dealership. But they still had to do diagnostics and for that fee they came up with replacing the front top struts. Which they have a new rebuild kit for. The total so far 760. 00 then they call me back and they could not adjust the level and had to diagnose that. Another charge and ended up with a corroded wire. Out the door boxing day 1290. 00. Two weeks later same problem. They had told me it was common for the suspension to drop in cold weather. And it has been a problem on and off since then. I am afraid to take this in but I am even more afraid to have this happen at 120km hr. This front suspension strut problem happened on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007.

I bought my Nissan Armada brand new in 2007. It is a 2006 model. The vehicle is very stylish but it is like a death trap. When the bumper to bumper warranty ran out @ 36,000 miles, my brakes have been an issue. Every year I have had to get brakes put on the Armada and it has to be Nissan brakes because I tried other brakes and they squeal and grind. Now I have an rather scary situation. I was driving 25mph and put my brakes on and my SUV started nose diving in the front end and the brake light came on, not to mention, the brakes would not work properly. It was catching and releasing about 4 times, each time I would brake. I almost hit a car. I drove it to a mechanic right then, and they ran scan on the brake code since the light came on during this event. The code is c1179. Apparently this is a dealer issue. I called the Nissan dealership I bought the Armada from and they told me I needed a software update for the abs system. Really? this is not a recall issue? I have read several reviews and they are are having abs issues. Come on Nissan, how many lives have to be lost or injured before you recall this abs problem? why would they charge consumers $120 for a computer update to the system if it is clearly a manufacturer defect. . . The other issues are: drivers side seat is ripping, poor material, the drivers side floor mat is sliding under the driver pedal, the blind spot is a severe issue on the left drivers side, paint chips easily, bad gas mileage, radiator leaks, strut is bad on the passenger front side, which is causing it to leak on the pavement when parked. This front suspension strut problem happened on Sep. 13, 2011.

The vehicle involved is a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta. The VIN of this Jetta is 3VWSC29M3X_. This car was purchased new in July 2000. It is the newly redesigned Jetta. Since it's purchase the car has been in the shop 9 times for water/air leaks, twice for failed drivers side front suspension steering failure, namely the shock, bearing, spacer, retainer (struts). In addition several pieces of the inside molding have detached. One of the largest safety issues for me, other than the strut, is the poorly designed floor mats which pop loose, slip forward , and catch the gas petal causing accerlaration. The air conditioner has molded over twice. I have informed both the seller and the manufacturing of my complaints and have demanded a refund or a lemon law take back. I am not sure what to do but feel vw hasn't been honest about all the problems the "new" vw has had. I just wanted to file this complaint in case other owners out there are experienceing the same problems I am and have not received any help from vw also. The vehicle involved was a 1997 Audi Quattro. On Sunday night, 3/11/07, my wife was driving our Audi a6 Quattro wagon when the car suddenly went out of control. As she applied the brake, the car veered wildly, spinning a full 360 degrees. To gain control my wife next tried light acceleration and was able with that and brute force to pull the car onto the side of the road. The dealer, after examining the vehicle, told us that a nut had come off the bolt holding the right front strut. We do not understand how a nut would suddenly loosen like this after 60,000 miles and 10 years. The repair was to replace both struts and other damaged components. We are very much relieved that this failure did not have catastrophic results, but are concerned that such a failure could occur. This front suspension strut issue occurred March 11, 2007.
