car   Suspension Noise problem of Chevrolet Malibu

The vehicle was a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1G1ZT51896_. I have been repetitively turned away by various gm dealerships to address serious issues with my vehicle & potential recalls. My issues include - steering malfunctions making the vehicle difficult to control, faulty fuel pump sending unit causing check engine light to illuminate & vehicle to stall, uncontrollable vibrations when breaking at high speeds nearly causing me to wreck, popping sounds in the suspension system, and finally unexplained electrical malfunctions such as radio switching channels on its own, failure of keyless entry system, failure of remote entry system, buzzing of lights when dimming, and flickering of headlights. I have been told by dealerships that because my vehicle is a "fleet car" that it does not qualify for any recalls. Problems began while under warranty. Steering wiring harness was replaced while under warranty. At around 65,000 miles, systems began to fail despite my regular care of the vehicle which I have documented. After warranty expired, I was routinely turned down for recall inspections. A recent emissions inspection caused concern by the mechanic over the steering of the vehicle and I was encouraged to address these problems again. I cannot afford a new car. This suspension noise issue occurred Feb. 6, 2012.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Chrysler Pacifica

We owned a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica car for 3 months, 46000 miles approx, when purchased. After the first 3 months of ownership, the rear tires went completely bald , wires poking out, the car was bottoming out on every bump. The springs were weak we were told. The shocks were broken, the tires were completely out of line and the dealer did fix at their own expense. 2 new tires replaced , wheel alignment, two new shocks, and supposedly springs fixed. At approx. 8 months later the vehicle was again bottoming out. Once again we were told shocks broken. Chrysler was contacted and replaced shocks, dealer did wheel alignment and a tie rod end was replaced. In approximately 10 months we again noticed the car was making noise and bottoming out. Once again shocks were broken and the other tie rod end needed replacing. Chrysler customer care was notified from the first incident and subsequently at each additional occurence. The dealer paid at the first occurence, Chrysler provided shocks at second occurence, on the last occurence Chrysler required an inspection by a Chrysler dealer. Another tie rod was replaced. We were told by dealer car was good to go. We took trip to pick up family at airport and had to be towed. Upon reinspection 2 days later, we were told 2 studs had completely broken off left rear tire, and tire could have come off on freeway at speeds of 65 mph. They also discovered two lugs on right rear tire were loose. This was the second incident where our safety was at risk. 4 sets of shocks 2 tires 2 tie rod ends and 3 wheel alignments later. Very unsatisfied. The car is a safety hazard on the road. Suspension design flaw???. This suspension noise problem happened on Friday, Mar. 30, 2012.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Dodge Caliber

The vehicle having this issue was a 2007 Dodge Caliber. When I was driving in town at speeds around 25-40 mph I kept hearing a clicking noise beneath the drivers seat, especially when I made turns. I took it to a shop and they lifted it up. Turns out the entire suspension carriage was rusting and rotting. The clicking noise I was hearing was rusty pieces of metal rubbing against one another. We took it to a dealership and they said that the ac condensate line was directed to the subframe/undercarriage of the Caliber. The water was pooling and causing it to rust. I'm grateful we found out about it when we did instead of having the whole bottom of the car fall out from under us when we were going at a high speed. This seems to be happening to many of the Dodge Calibers right around 7 years. We have photos of the damage. Unbelievable. This suspension noise issue occurred Wednesday, Apr. 9, 2014.

Upon inspection by the dealer, the k-bar or k-frame, which is the part that holds the front suspension together, was found to have completely rusted through. It is completely rotten. Chrysler was contacted and will not help with thus $1400 repair. The vehicle has only 64000 miles on it. I have never had to replace this part in any vehicle I have ever owned. This is a serious safety issue. This issue happened on May. 6, 2014.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Ford Expedition

The car involved is a 2000 Ford Expedition. Taking off from a stop in the subdivision, my son with a friend in the vehicle heard a slight clunk, but the vehicle continued to move forward. He kept driving, but the vehicle "felt a little strange" he reported. He pulled out onto a major roadway and heard another loud noise, but the car kept going, so he pulled off the road as soon as he could, to discover that the rear end almost fell off the car. The car has 4 wheel drive with awd. The rear drive shaft got pulled out of the transfer case, dropped to the ground started to drag. It snapped off, breaking the pinion shaft, when pulling off the road. The rear lower control arms had rusted away and snapped off. I live in the rust belt in the chicago suburbs, and expect things like doors and fenders to rust, but a major piece of the suspension that holds the whole car together? really? doesn't that deserve at least a heads up mention in the scheduled maintenance manual, other than at intervals have the suspension checked? the manual pretty clearly describes checking things at recommended intervals, and I've always had it serviced at the local (now closed Mercury dealer nearby). The vehicle has been garage kept, and I've owned it for 12 years. I'm extremely thankful nobody was injured. Ford currently does not have a technical service bulletin issued on this issue. If it had 200,000 miles and wasn't ever cared for or garage kept, then I'd be a little less surprised!! as of this writing I still haven't gotten the car fixed yet because it will involve getting the entire differential rebuilt. I had planned on keeping this vehicle for a whole lot longer than 70,000 miles. I'm being forced to shop for another family bus due to poor engineering on Fords part. It would have been nice to have them send at least a notice to get these $100 control arms replaced before; it now will cost $2000 to make the vehicle drivable again. It was 12/23/2013 when this suspension noise issue happened.

The dealer confirmed there were rust holes on the surface of the frame and made an interim repair which included attaching a cross member and support bar to the subframe(?). The contact stated that shortly after the recall repairs, the vehicle would exhibit an abnormal popping noise from the front end. The contact was traveling approximately 25 mph and attempting to complete a turn when a loud, popping sound was heard. The lower control arm had become detached from the subframe on the front passengers side. The vehicle began to shake violently and the contact was not able to control the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the entire subframe needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure multiple times. car   Suspension Noise problem of Honda Civic

The vehicle was a 2000 Honda Civic. I am a unsuspecting consumer that bought a vehicle that was for sale without discloure of the true condition including brand history. I purchase an unsafe car for my daughter and the second day the break fail and the steering wheel stifness. My daughter took it for a oil change my mechanic said it have a lot of problems oil leak, axle damage, suspension noise. I took it to have the muffler check my mechanic said the muffler had a rotten pipe and two donut gasket that need to replaced which I did. The code present p1259 - vtec solenoid and oxygen sensor. I requested the car fax and it said that it had three minor accidents, three owners, mileage inconsistency. My daughter said while driving the car the speed odometer only goes to sixty miles when speed up and it will not go any further. I never saw a title, sign a transfer form, or go down with him to the court house to get the sticker and transfer paper work. My daughter had to jump out of the car while parking the car. It started smoking like it was on fire. I informed mr. Andrew juma that the car was a junk and I wanted my money back. It has been thirteen days since I purchase the car and I have not got my money back. He made sure that the address where he is located was written wrong, the name of his business was incorrect, the VIN no. Was written incorrect, the odemeter at the time of purchase was not documented on the buyers ower invoice. I purchase this car at a exxon gas station. I sent him a demand letter and I have not gotten any responce. The car is parked infront of my home and my daughter cannot drive the car. This problem occurred on 02/02/2014.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Honda Accord

The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 Honda Accord. The VIN of the car is 1HGCG16542_. While taking off my tires to inspect the tierods and brakes I noticed a significant amount of rust on the passenger side front end vehicle subframe directly below the air conditioner drain line. It is rusted through currently only on the top side but it is a matter of time until this progresses to the underside as well. This leaves only the lower portion to hold the suspension and engine in place. I did some research and found many others have had this problem seeming caused by the drain line being positioned directly above this piece of the subframe. I purchased this vehicle a year ago from a local Honda dealership that in hind sight definitely seemed like they were trying to get rid of a lemon. There were a number of other issues with the car (electrical, etc) and now I find this. This car was serviced at this dealership its entire life (since new) and the dealership absolutely should have noticed this subframe rotting as they performed routine oil changes, tire changes, tire rotations, etc. I believe that Honda should be responsible for this since 1) the vehicle was purchased and maintained at the Honda dealership and 2) it seems to be a significant design flaw to have the drain immediately above this area. . . The drivers side does not show any rust at all and appears structurally sound. This problem occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Hyundai Elantra

The car involved was a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The VIN of this vehicle was KMHDH4AE#D_. The car literally rides like a truck, with a very light back end. When going over even slight bumps the ride (suspension) feels like a big hole or very rough road. There are times when the back end does not feel very stable when going of "washboard types of roads". Road noise is distinctly loud at times. This issue happened on 08/20/2013.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Hyundai Elantra

The vehicle is a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The brakes make horrible creaking and grinding noises when wet. Sometimes it will even cause the car to shake. I have contacted Hyundai several times and they do not take this serious. I have taken it to the dealership several times and they have not been able to fix it. I just took it in last week and they even tried to get me to pay 100 for a cleaning of the brake components, I feel I should not have to pay to fix a problem we have had since we bought the car new and have had it in several times and they have not been able to fix it. I am not confident driving the car now and clearly no one would want it buy it off us when it makes such horrible noises. I also believe it cannot be safe and will cause premature failure of the brake calipers and / or possible the ball joints or front steering suspension. I think they have a faulty design in the brake hydraulics and the differential pressures between the front and rear brakes are not right. This suspension noise issue occurred Jan. 15, 2013.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Infiniti G35

I own a 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe with the sport tuned suspension option. Rubber bushings on the left and right front suspension compression rods cracked causing severe misalignment and excessive camber. This caused extreme tire wear on the innermost 0. 5-inch of tire tread on both front tires, and exposed and wore through the steel belts and radial plies on the left tire. The remainder of both tires' treads show normal wear with all four treads on each tire measuring 4/32 to 5/32. The excessive wear was not visible due to its location on the tire within the wheel well. There was no degradation in ride or handling while driving the car and no noise created to warn the driver. Owner discovered the dangerous tire wear during routine replacement of front brake pads. Vehicle has all stock suspension with kumho ecsta spt ku31 225/40-19 tires. Owner is the original vehicle owner and retained damaged compression rods and tires for testing. The failure mileage was 56,960 miles on the vehicle and 33,788 miles on the tires. It was 12/09/12 when this suspension noise issue happened.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Jeep Patriot

My Jeep Patriot cuts off and to this date, I haven't received an answer on the cause of this problem. I purchased a new alternator and a battery and that did not solve that issue. On November 29, 2013, I drove the car from stamford, CT to bridgeport, CT. I was driving at a speed of 50 mph and all of a sudden, the car started making a noise as if something was clogged in the fuel system. The car would not drive over a speed over 15 mph. The very next day, I had the car checked and there is a computer malfunction in the fuel injection system. He stated that only a Jeep dealer would be able to assist me. The second incident happened on January 14, 2014 and the car did the same exact issue with the noise (clogged) and the car began to jerk. At the time, I was in new rochelle, NY and I drove straight to advance auto located on main street. The technician assisted me and hooked the car up to the scanner and it gave me a code of p2017. I purchased some fuel injection cleaner to see if that could help me out. I drove approximately 4-5 miles and the car died. I called my insurance company to see if I can get the car towed to stamford, CT. I was told by the technician and mechanic that Jeep Patriot have a recall on the fuel/propulsion system. I've also had suspension issues on several occasions. It began in July of 2013. The car has poor steering and I have to constantly get wheel alignments and change the front tires. I researched online and found that the Jeep Patriot have a ton of safety recalls on the 2008 model. I have a scheduled tow to have the car serviced at the Jeep dealer. I would like the recall issue to be honored. I have never received notification on any recalls by the manufacture. This is a major concern for me and my family. I do want to incur any injuries or fatalities. I am paying a car note on this vehicle and I feel as I've been robbed!. This problem occurred on November 30, 2013.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Kia Motor Sorento

The car involved is a 2005 Kia Motor Sorento. I brought my vehicle in for a regular yearly inspection. Told my mechanic it had been making a weird noise in the rear, thought maybe I needed break pads. Turns out my vehicle was making noise due to as suspension issue. He explained that the upper control arm bracket welded to the rear axle on both side are rotted right through/off. Knowledgable mechanic said he didn't feel comfortable making something to replace it. Kia does not even sell the part. I called corporate and they won't do anything to help. Told me to find a salvage yard and replace it that way. Horrible quality! passenger side let go first. This issue happened on Fri., Feb. 28, 2014.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Land Rover LR3

The vehicle having this issue was a 2006 Land Rover Lr3. As we were driving, the suspension fault light came on and immediately went off. We thought it may be due to the road conditions. About 30 minutes later, we stopped to gas up and when we were back on the road, the radio would not work. No sound but a cracking sound was coming from the radio. After a hour, the radio came back on. Last week, I was driving and the suspension light was came on and off every 5 or 10 minutes, it seemed. Then a loud chime with a suspension fault in red letters. At a stop light, the vehicle was going up and down like it has a mind of its own. Kindly of spooky. Of course, our 2006 Lr3 is out of warranty. I called the dealer and it will cost $125 for a diagnosis but it will go toward the cost of the service whatever is needed. All I see is major dollars signs due to our last experience. The dealer quoted us a cost of $250 for a problem my husband fixed with a $12 fuse. So my husband will not take it back to the dealer not unless it is a must. It was Monday, Jul. 18, 2011 when this suspension noise issue happened.

The vehicle involved is a 2007 Lexus Rx400h. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is JTJHW31U07_. In Aug 2013 I noticed every time I passed over a small bump that a loud clunk would emit from the rear suspension. It happened whenever I pass over a bump or a chuck hole. It doesn't seem speed related. It sounds to me as if the rear suspension is bottoming out or loose. I just saw that Toyota had some SUV suspension recalls last week and I am now afraid that since my SUV shares common parts with the Toyota suvs that I may have the same or similar suspension defect. This issue happened on August 9, 2013.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Mazda Tribute

The car involved was a 2003 Mazda Tribute. Tires began making extremely loud road noise above 30 mph. I was told at the time that the tires were "cupped" probably the result of defective tires. I had the Mazda 2003 Tribute serviced at the local dealership, "jay Mazda" in columbus, GA and the tires were replaced at approximately 84978 miles on the vehicle on 04-22-11. Around approx 112000 miles on the vehicle I began experiencing the same road noise I had experienced earlier on 04-22-2011. I began hearing the loud road noise again. I again had my Mazda 2003 Tribute serviced at "jay Mazda" in columbus, GA on 08-31-2013 at approximately 114190 miles where I had my oil changed, brakes replaced , & spoke with the Mazda tech about the extremely loud road noise I was again experiencing since I purchased the tires on the vehicle from jay Mazda on 04-22-2011 for the same trouble. Upon picking up my vehicle the technician told me that my tires were again "cupped" and that was what was causing the loud vehicle noise and they were "cupped" due to me not having my tires rotated at the proper interval. I told the technician that I never experienced the noise until sometime after having the tires rotated the 1st time. The technician said he found no problems with the vehicles suspension that "lack" of rotation was the only cause. I believe that there is a problem with the rear suspension that causes the rear tires on Mazda 2003 Tributes to "cup" & that rotation of the tires only worsens the problem. I believe this because the Mazda technician told me that if I had my tires rotated now that the noise would only get "worse". It was Fri., Apr. 22, 2011 when this suspension noise issue occurred.

The car involved was a 2005 Mercedes Benz E320. The VIN of the problem E320 is WDBUF82J55_. I brought my 2005 mercedes E320 [purchased oct. 2014] in for an oil change Jan. 30, 2014. I mentioned to the service person a noise [like something broke] I heard while out of town visiting. He changed my oil and also found/replace a broken rear suspension spring. This occurred within 3 months of purchase. Repair cost: $551. 17. My second incident occured Feb. 19th. I noticed a puddle of fluid underneath the vehicle [not sure what kind of fluid] and immediately brought the car back to the dealer for service. I was told the transmission servo solenoid seals required replacing. Repair cost: $157. 84. The third incident was reported Apr. 21, 2014. I noted an increasingly bad odor inside the car since the first day of purchase, but wasn't sure exactly what it was as I was still trying to identify it. I finally realized it was gas I was smelling [intermittantly] inside the vehicle for the last six months. It turned out to be leaking fuel from the left fuel pump seal (lfps) underneath the rear seat. Repair cost: $161. 31. The fuel odor got worse after the replacing the lfps. Most noticeably after filling the car with gas. I've also identified gasoline leaking from the drivers' side rear quarter that puddled by the tire. My feeling at this time, repairs may be onging for my E320, that I really like. This problem occurred on 12/21/13.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Mercedes Benz GL450

The car involved is a 2008 Mercedes Benz Gl450. Today I was shopping in a store while my teenage son waited in the car for me. He came running in the store accompanied by a witness that was in the parking lot to tell me that something on my car exploded outside. The adult witness explained that the noise was so loud and so abrasive that they thought a bomb went off. It shook the entire car. Luckily nobody was hurt. What would have happened if this incident took place while I was driving the car? it has to have something to do with the air suspension. I'm having it towed to a mechanic tomorrow. I've spent lots of money fixing many things on this car. I can't wait to see how much this issue costs me (sarcasm). I've already replaced one of the airbags in the air suspension on the front driver's side. When those airbags go out, the vehicle can't be safe to drive. It starts slipping, it has difficulty stopping, it shakes aggressively when driven, yet when all that happened it didn't tell me that the car needed service. It tells me everything else constantly like tire pressure is off, a rear lamp is out, etc. But doesn't tell me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive? mercedes is supposed to be the safest car on the road, and it should be for the price they charge. However, my family certainly was not safe today when I was driving this car. It is hard to tell how long we've been in jeopardy as this part was waiting to explode. Princess [xxx] in a mercedes. I have to wonder if her car had air suspension that went bad. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). It was Fri., Nov. 8, 2013 when this suspension noise issue happened.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Saturn ION

The vehicle was a 2004 Saturn Ion. I am not exactly sure on the dates of when we noticed the problems. So far I have had serious problems with my 04 Ion's front suspension, the cheaply made plastic wiper linkages that break easy while driving down the road making it difficult and dangerous while driving in rain, the ignition lock cylinder has been replaced 3 times so far because the part fails and you cannot start your car, and most recently I went to my local dealer to ask about a "clunking" noise it makes when going over any bumps to find out that there is a bulletin for a known steering linkage or steering motor (eps) problem. I was told that on these cars the steering links/motor have tendancy to break! if that is to happen while driving down the road it could result in death! I've also done some searching online and found many forums/articles with others having the same problems with this specific make/model. One comment I read the person said "this car is a death trap!" mine and many other's 04 Saturn Ion's have alot of known yet serious issues but Saturn still has no recalls for this car!! somebody please help fix this problem! -concerned/frusturated Saturn owner. This problem occurred on Thursday, March 29, 2012.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Suzuki Forenza

The car involved was a 2008 Suzuki Forenza. I have complained consistently about the vibrations at idle and the loud noises in my engine compartment. Also fumes coming thru my vents that burn my eyes at times. Ended up in the er on one occasion and the next day the car had oil all over the valve gasket cover. Car was towed to the dealer but they said they seen no oil but I had pics of the leak. Still get intermittant smells of gas while driving that burn my eyes and throat. The engine gets hot fast and thats when the car starts to accelerate. Seems like it is searching for gears and the rpms rev up. I can feel the engine in my drivers seat really bad. My warranty is almost expired and it is now 2011 and the car has been in twice for the same complaints. Not to mention hearing the struts rattle over bumps and while making turns. They replaced my suspension twice. 1st time was while I only had my car for 2 months. I am not getting no results and this car is very unsafe. Now I am scared if I was to be involved in an accident the airbag may not deploy. They need to recall this car for the faulty transmission and the airbags before someone gets hurt really bad. It was Feb. 4, 2011 when this suspension noise issue occurred.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Volkswagen Jetta

The vehicle involved is a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta. Recently, I heard some bumping from the back of the vehicle while driving. I took the car in to get repaired, and they told me that the coil spring in the right rear had broken due to corrosion and that it need to be fixed or that spring could pop out while driving and cause the suspension to fail. The Volkswagen mechanic stated that this was a common problem with the model. I had the spring replaced, but I am concerned that the other spring may have the same failure while driving. With the vehicle being only 5 years old, I am concerned that this is a problem for other drivers that do not pay as close attention to the sounds their cars make. I believe this is a safety issue that should warrant a recall. This problem occurred on Apr. 3, 2014.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Volvo XC90

The vehicle is a 2005 Volvo Xc90. The VIN of this vehicle is YV1CZ91115_. I bought this car at 12/12/2013 when I test drove the car the dealer had the radio on and I never suspected any noise at the time. After I bought the car I kept hearing this knocking noise at first I thought is was the ski rack making the noise then when my husband drove it he said it was coming from the tires so I took the car to my mechanic and he check it a out and found multiple problems the suspension, inner tie rods, axles, sway bar, steering, bushings etc his reply was how did this car pass inspection with all the problems available take the car back and ask the dealer to fix the problems. I took the car back and ask the dealer to comply they would not I told them they had received a faulty inspections on the car so I took it to another mechanic same response. I then called the safety inspectors and they came out to check out the car and found nothing. I then took it to another dealer and they reported the same problems and added a cracked engine mount. I then asked the inspector to come and look at all the things that Volvo found that the safety inspectors missed he agreed and saw but only wrote a report I still have a broke car that was faulty inspected. I want the dealer to fix my problem and they have refused I could sue them for getting a faulty inspection and selling a lemon but I fell like I am stuck I need to know what to do from here I have already paid for several things the rack and pinon is the most important I have to fix but expensive and the bushings and tie rods are going to be the next thing I repair I really don't have the money to fix them I am paying 7000. 00 for a used car and I fell that the dealer and the inspectors are crooks and used a faulty inspection to sell a broke car please help. car   Suspension Noise problem of Volvo XC70

The car was a 2005 Volvo Xc70. The car was parked over night at home. When reversing the car out of the garage the following morning a grinding noise was heard from the left front wheel. On inspection it was apparent that the front driver's side helical suspension spring had fractured in the first nine inches of its lower arc. The car was towed to the garage and they informed me that the spring was in contact with the tire and the spring recess in the top of the wheel arch. On inspection it was apparent that the spring had suddenly failed due to metal fatigue and that the fractured surfaces were partially rusted. The car was serviced two weeks prior to this failure and no problems in the front suspension or wheel alignment were noticed. I have retained the spring for inspection and noted that the powder coating on the lower part of the spring was missing and that the spring's bare metal surface was corroded. If the spring had failed while driving at speed the broken end would have caused a tire failure with accompanying loss of control with serious injuries to passengers or driver. It was 12/14/11 when this suspension noise issue occurred.

car   Suspension Noise problem of BMW Z3

The vehicle having this issue was a 2001 BMW Z3 roadster. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is WBACN53441_. I am the original owner of this auto. I noticed a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle on deceleration. Upon inspecting the car, I found that the rear sub frame was almost broker in half. This is the part the holds the entire rear suspension for the car. From research I'm finding out that this is a common problem with z-3 BMW's in what appears to be a flaw in their engineering. I was very shocked to see the damage and that if I would have continued to drive the car, very shortly the part would have failed, wiping out the whole rear suspension. I am amazed that this was not a recall item or that I was not even notified that this was a potential issue so that I could monitor this and catch it before a major failure. The failure date was Saturday, May. 19, 2012.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Jaguar S-type

The vehicle was a 2001 Jaguar S-type. Unusual noise was coming from front suspension and steering was like loose, I was going 40mph on 2 way road than I hit road bump and car just went to left by self and I almost hit the car coming from opposite way. Back in December 2013 I took car to shop to get alignment done and the tech told me there is something loose on suspension and he have to charge me 125 dollars extra to get alignment done. After that car was fine for driving than the noise comes back again. This car is unsafe to drive and I don't know what to do. I will take it again to shop but I don't thrust it any more. I don't know if there is any recall on this vehicle to make it safe for driving. Feels like all front end is falling apart. This suspension noise issue occurred Tuesday, February 18, 2014.

car   Suspension Noise problem of Jaguar X-type

The vehicle is a 2002 Jaguar X-type. The VIN of this vehicle was SAJEA51C02_. The Jaguar dealer replaced the transmission and related parts in the car as it was un-drivable. After re-assembly, the car would make clunking sounds when turning tight turns and over bumps and dips. This became more noticeable over time, until the dealer wanted to replaced most of the suspension. It turns out that the transmission sub-frame is bolted through the floor pan to spot-welded nuts. The technician broke these nuts loose during re-installing the frame member (perhaps by over-torquing). The drivetrain would then shift during the tight turns and over bumps making a loud clunking in the unibody. This suspension noise problem happened on Dec. 12, 2006.
