car   Front Suspension Springs problem of Chrysler Sebring

The vehicle was a 1996 Chrysler Sebring. The VIN of this vehicle was 4C3AU52N6T_. While returning from las vegas, I thumping sound began in the right front section of the car. I looked but could find no immediate problem. Upon returning home, I made a closer search for what was causing the clunking sound. As I looked above the right front tire, I could see that the welding for the shock tower had broken loose. I immediately took it to the dealership where the car was bought (van wyk's). The car was still under extended warranty. After van wyk's inspected the vehicle, they insisted we must have hit something in the road to cause the welding to break. I pointed out that there was no damage or other indications that something had been hit, but they refused to repair the vehicle. I felt I had no other choice but to seek independent repair. I then contacted independent wheel and frame inc. Inspection of the vehicle by eldon fussel indicated the welding of the shock tower to be defective in that mr. Fussel stated that the should sustain a major head on collison before those weld points should have broke. Mr. Fussel also confirmed that there was no damage contradicting van wyk's theory that we had hit something causing the welding to break. Independent wheel and frame proceeded to complete repair which resulted in $385. 00 out-of-the-pocket expense to myself. Mr. Fussel also expressed how dangerous this situation (failure of the shock tower welding) could be (potential total loss of steering). This front suspension springs issue occurred Sunday, January 30, 2000.

car   Front Suspension Springs problem of Land Rover Range Rover Sport

The car involved was a 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. Land rover's Range Rover Sport supercharged was designed with a hydraulic suspsension system that breaks down after or around just 1000 miles. After a customer has purchased a new sport from Land Rover, Land Rover is stiffing all of it's customers with these cars and calling the knocking and clunking "normal". This is totally and utterly offensive, I have already lemon lawed my first 2006 sport. Out of good will and appreciation for the brand, I purchased a 2007 sport supercharged the very same day I turned in my 2006 in hopes that they had corrected the issue and/or my issue with my 2006 was just a fluke. I was wrong, Land Rover has given my attorney and I the cold shoulder, they have specifically told my local repair center not to repair my car!!! I am disgusted by this companies business and customer relations practices and am looking into filing a joint class action lawsuit against Land Rover. The parts of the car that are defective are called the dynamic response system. My 2007 sport had it's entire suspension system replaced at just 3 weeks after ownership at 1000 miles yet it still continues to give me trouble. I have not had the car for 13 months and Land Rover has made to effort to do right by one of their young and loyal customers. I am filing this complaint with the NHTSA because this car does not sound or feel safe to drive. I have already been in a highway speed accident when I was much younger and do not want to risk ever having to go through that again. I have emailed Land Rover clips of my car making the lound clunking noise, I have also demonstrated the clunking to a Land Rover representative. Land rover has decided that a recall would cost them too much money and are stiffing their customers who shell out close to $100k for this car. It was Fri., Jan. 12, 2007 when this front suspension springs issue occurred.

car   Front Suspension Springs problem of Mercedes Benz S500

The vehicle was a 2002 Mercedes Benz S500. This complaint is related to a 2002 mercedes-benz S500 with rear wheel drive and the "airmatic" suspension system. After parking the vehicle and shutting off the ignition, loud banging noises came from the airmatic suspension compressor at the front right of the vehicle. No warnings or faults were displayed on the vehicle's diagnostic system and the vehicle's ride height was normal. The banging noise stopped. While driving the vehicle later that night, the airmatic suspension released its remaining compressed air and dropped the entire suspension to a point so low that the front tires could not be turned without doing extensive damage to the wheel housing and fenders. Any undulation in the road caused rubbing and damage in the wheel housing. Finally, after this, a warning came on the dash saying "stop- car too low". Vehicle could not be turned or driven and was towed to a mercedes-benz dealer. Dealer states that despite the fact that "all" airmatic suspensions fail this way under 50000 miles (this car had 32000 at time of failure) it is not covered under any technical service bulletins or extensions of warranty. This is a safety defect and epidemic failure on all mercedes-benz "airmatic" air suspension vehicles. There is an upgraded part to replace the on that the manufacturer recognizes as faulty from the factory. The repair and towing bill came to almost $2000 and the manufacturer and dealer covered none of it. My inner wheel housings suffered damage that was not repaired. This front suspension springs problem happened on 03/31/07.
