He then called the mechanic and I ask him what part is being ordered for my car if any. I looked at chuck then me and said "I don't know". No one there could tell me why they had my car for 5 days or what part is being ordered or if any needed to be ordered. car   Metal Noise problem of Honda Accord

I am the owner of a 2008 Honda Accord 4-door lx-p sedan (automatic transmission), which was purchased in January of 2008. Beginning in December of 2008, I detected an intermittent noise which can best be described as the sound of air moving through a straw when applying the brakes, which was sustained through subsequent acceleration until repeated application and release of the brakes caused the noise to cease. It was audible inside and outside of the car, and could not be isolated to one particular area of the car (rear or front), though it appeared to originate in the wheels area. This was reported to the dealer during visits for oil changes and tire rotations, as well as a separate visit specifically to assess this ongoing occurrence. I was repeatedly assured that they had not heard the noise, but had checked the brakes and tires and all was fine, there were no suspected or visible concerns. One day prior to my most recent service appointment of June 11, 2009, the noise changed (though was still very intermittent) and began to sound and feel like a grinding, metal-to-metal noise, as well as a vibration felt in the brake pedal. When inspected during the service appointment, I was told that they had discovered that the rear brake pads were completely worn and damage had been done to the rotors as a result. The rear brake pads on the newer Honda Accords (automatic transmissions) wear extremely quickly, at approximately 18-20,000 miles. They also wear unevenly, such that the inner pads wear much more quickly than the outer. The rear pads also wear much more quickly than the front. This problem is potentially dangerous and very costly. This problem occurred on Jun. 10, 2009.

car   Metal Noise problem of SAAB 9-3

The vehicle involved is a 2003 SAAB 9-3. Passenger side front spring snapped. While driving home, I noticed a loud metal on metal tapping noise after going over any bumps. I knew right away something with my right front was wrong, about a minute later I heard a loud bang, followed by metal bouncing on pavement. I pulled over and found a piece of my spring had broken completely off. Right after this happened it was much harder to steer and thank god that this happened in a neighborhood where I was only doing 20mph. Suppose this happened on a freeway doing 65? supposedly this is a very common problem as I have read about it on forums. The failure date was Friday, May 15, 2009.

car   Metal Noise problem of Subaru Impreza Wrx

The vehicle involved is a 2005 Subaru wrx. The VIN of this Impreza Wrx is JF1GD70685_. Normal city and highway commuting. While traveling on the highway vehicle had a violent drop in speed , and a metal clanking noise. Was heard. The engine died, as a result lost power steering. I managed to safely bring the car to a stop. It was as able to drive it despite the engine shutting off frequently to the dealer. They reported to me that the turbocharger failed, and I had 4 twisted axles, half-shafts replaced. They had to place a call to Subaru to see about covering the failure. I heard nothing, but after calling they said Subaru would not cover the failure, but would not say why. I went in later and requested a written statement that they refused to cover it and why. It was then I found out that it was due to alleged abuse. The proof of this was the presence of club stickers and aftermarket parts which had no bearing on the defective parts. They stated the presence of these things implied abuse to the car. They refused to fix it unless I payed. They offered nothing , but a 800 number to complain to Subaru of America. I am currently in the process with soa and everyone is being very uncooperative. I felt being discriminated against because of my age. I am younger , therefore, I must be abused or race the car. The failure date was Friday, May. 11, 2007.

car   Metal Noise problem of Toyota Tundra

The VIN of this vehicle was 5TFDY5F1XB_. I bought a 2011 Toyota Tundra crerwmax, that was lifted and had different wheels and tires put on by the dealership prior to me purchasing the truck, around October of 2011. I found it to be slightly pulling left so I thought it needed an alignment done so call russel Toyota in catonsville and was told to drive for awhile to make sure and its not the roads. At about 2000 mile I call the dealership againg and made an appointment to drop off the truck. A week later I dropped off the truck at the dealership for an alignment and metal noise comong from the front driver wheel area and was called back later that day to pick it up and bring it back when the weather was nicer so I picked up the truck. I got back from vacation and dropped off the truck at the dealership for alignment, noise fron the front drivers wheel area, oil change. I was told it will take a day or more. I was call back by the dealership 4 days later saying the oil change was done but that the alignment problem was my fault because the company that lifted the truck saw scuff marks on the tires from hitting a curb. My service agent got the company to say they would fix the alignment. 3 days later the service agent from the dealership call me and said he couldnt get in contact with the other company but he did it at the dealership. They told me they could not dupcliate the noise. I drove the truck and the alignment was worse than before so I call and was told to bring it back and leave it for a few days. I was concerned that they could not find the noise so I checked the front wheel area of my truck and found that the strut was broken so I kind of figure out it was the broken strut that was making my truck pull that direction and the metal noise was coming from there. Russel Toyota and the other company is trrying not to take responsibility and put the blame on me and I am the victim. This problem occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011.

car   Metal Noise problem of Volkswagen Passat

The car involved was a 2004 Volkswagen Passat. Passat 2004 id [xxx] while driving at approximately 55mph - the car pulled to the right similar to a possible flat tire. I pulled to the shoulder and checked each tire with a flashlight they were fine. I returned to the road and continued. The steering quickly became stiff, less responsive, with a shimmy in the steering wheel. I decreased my speed, put on flashers, and very slowly continued the last mile to my home when a loud metal-on-metal scraping sound started. The vehicle became hard to control because the steering was unresponsive. Had my wife or daughter been driving, they would not have been able to maintain control. This is a very dangerous, potentially life-threatening problem. This is inconceivable. We had the car towed to our Volkswagen dealer to be evaluated and were told both axles need to be replaced as well the steering pump. This is not normal wear and tear. This vehicle has 96,000 miles, has never been in any type of accident, is driven only on paved roads, and is kept in the garage. My serviceman reported hed never seen anything like this. Please check to determine if anyone else has experienced this problem. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). This metal noise problem happened on May. 14, 2010.
