Bought a new 2003 z-71 Chevrolet Silverado in sept 03'. Had a bouncing while driving at any speed. Went to the dealer and was told that I probably needed a tire balance. So I went to their tire shop. I did this five(5) separate times. So then they thought maybe a bad tire. So, I had all tires changed. I have now had three(3) differant sets of tires put onto this vehicle. So then I e-mailed Chevrolet with no response. About three weeks later I e-mailed them again. This time I got a phone call from Chevrolet. They had me set up a ride along with the service manager. Just leaving the dealership for the test drive, the service manager commented on the vibration in his rear through the seat. 20 minutes later his comment was "this would drive me crazy!". At that point they changed the rear shocks. No help. So I called the dealership to see what was their next coarse of action and the service manager told me he was meeting with his rep. And a engineer and wanted the truck back again three weeks later. So after I dropped it off, later I got a call from the service manager that there are two setting on the front end that they wanted to try. I got my vehicle back without any explaination from anyone about what was done now. I didn't want to take it but was told that leaving it there would not help because if this did not work that pretty much too bad. No one had a solution for me I was then told that it was drivin' be the engineer and compared to several others. They then said it's probably a characteristic of the vehicle. However, I was not givin a chance to drive any other at any time nor did I see any 2003 z-71's on their lot. So what did they compare it to and why wasn't I givin an oportunity to drive another?? I also work on a used car lot myself and have driven 2 other 2003 z-71's which we had and one was lifted. Neither had the bounce mine has. Some roads bounce so much that the truck starts to hop constantly. Not to mention the back pain after long drives. The failure date was 10/05/03.

The car involved was a 1998 Ford F-250. One side of truck sat low, shortly after the other side sat low. Rear end airbag suspension gave way as well as the springs. Air bags were replaced twice with in 3 month period. After recieving truck from repair shop it was noticed by body shop that frame on left side was cracked. This crack was in front view of service people and not detected. I do not recall the crack from the previous time the air bags were replaced. I do not recall the crack when I dropped the truck for second replacement of airbags and springs. The truck frame on left side is held together by two inches of connecting steel and I have been advised not to drive the vehicle. This truck is my livelyhood and only means of transportation. Ford body shop will not weld or repair frame do to liability. They recommend new frame. After discussion with service people and body shop manager it was revealed that Ford made changes to the frame in the 1999 year. This is why in the 1998 F-250 a disiel engine was not available. Other words the 1998 F-250 was found to be a weaker frame than any other year. Also, the design of the airbag suspension system of this truck is weaker than even the f-150 models. The springs are of lessor materials and lessor strength. This was explained to me that this was done do to the airbags capability to make up the difference is support. My view is that all these components work in unisonand when one system failed the others followed. The repairs I have done are not remedying the problem and I have paid $ 2000. 00 and much lost time. There is a defect in the frame and Ford needs to correct this problem. . This rear suspension leaf spring problem happened on Wed., Sep. 1, 1999.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Toyota Tundra is 5TFRV54167_. We bought a new 2007 Toyota Tundra double cab in August. We discovered on certain freeways (concrete) the bed bounce is terrible. We have had several other trucks in the past and all of them have had a small amount of bed bounce, but this verhicle is unsafe. The entire truck bounces to the extent that my husband gets sick to his stomach after a 20 minute drive. I refuse to take myself or our grandchildren in this vehicle. One of these days there will be an accident due to the stability of this vehicle on the road. Toyota dealer in our area refuses to drive more than a 5-10 mile radius on a test drive so they can not duplicate the problem we have mentioned. This saftey factor needs to be addressed. It was Monday, August 27, 2007 when this rear suspension leaf spring issue happened.
