I recently purchased a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, it is leaning very badly to the driver side of the vehicle. I was told the vehicle is not damaged, bent, or warped in any way. I was told it was just built "that badly, and should have never passed an inspection of any kind". The dealership first tried to use the slack adjuster bars that are made to adjust this kind of problem. This fix did not work since it was leaning so badly. They ordered special parts (a shim and longer u-bolts) and installed them a couple days later. This also did not come even close to fixing the problem, and I was once again sent on my way. I am now waiting for a response from gm, while I am still being forced to drive my unsafe vehicle which I feel is at great risk for a rollover. This front suspension leaf spring u-bolt problem happened on Jan. 15, 2007.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2000 Dodge 2500. The car had a crash. My 2000 model Dodge 2500 3/4 ton pickup lost it's rear axel under normal driving conditions. It has camper package which included a special helper spring on the rear suspension. My insurance company has informed me that the u-bolts holding my rear end on had broke free of the spring assembly. Causing my truck to roll side over side and the come to a rest on it's passenger side. The rear axle was found 100 yards away from the truck. This defect has been noted on the 2001 series trucks of the same body style and make. I was traveling at 65 mph on a straight stretch of highway known as IL rj 6 1 mile north of I-74. The truck began to get loose. I noticed the back of my truck start to come around and then when I tried to counter steer I lost control and roll side over side onto the median. The rear axle seemed as if it had shifted back on one side causing it to swing the back of the truck around. Local law enforcement also noted this to be very possible due to the accident scene. My insurance compnay noted that they believe the u-bolts failed and are currently sending the truck to chicago, IL for an extensive investigation into the cause of the failure. My insurance company is state farm insurance. I was not badly injured in the accident, but doctors and police told me I was very lucky to have walked away. Mr. This issue happened on Friday, October 11, 2002.

The vehicle was a 2003 Mazda Mazda6. I purchased my Mazda 6s in February of 2003. I have loved this car since the day I first saw it. In December of 2003, I began hearing grinding/moaning sounds from the front suspension area when making slow turns into a parking space. This happened approximately 3-4 weekly. I took my 6s in for it's regular service in December (oil change and tire rotation), and advised my dealership of the noise I was hearing. I was told that my one front tire was 2 lbs low, and that is what caused the noise. The vehicle only had 12000 miles at this time, and I knew the service tech was sugar coating the problem. On January 9, 2004, I was leaving work to go home when I had some serious problems with my vehicle on the way home. As I was getting on the expressway, I experienced severe vibration in the steering wheel and also under the driver seat, along with the vehicle would not accelerate over 3,000 rpm no matter how hard I pressed the accelerator. I was terrified to drive this vehicle home in this condition, but I had no choice at this time. By the way the vehicle was acting, I thought I either had a flat tire or there was a problem with my engine. I took my vehicle the next day to the dealer, which it took them 4 days to confirm the problem. The concluded that my front axle was faulty, and needed to be replaced. It took 10 days to get my vehicle back, and so far the issue has been resolved. I just wish the dealer would have taken me more seriously back in December and maybe this problem could have been avoided. The failure date was January 10, 2004.

I own a 2008 Toyota Tacoma access cab off-rod 4x4. A leaf in the passenger side leaf spring broke while driving. I was driving along and I started to hear a clanking metal on metal noise that I had not heard before. I was close to home so I drove there and when I looked underneath the second leaf from the top was broken in two right behind the u-bolt holding the rear axle to the leaf pack. I had it repaired by a local shop who replaced the broken leaf and added another full leaf to both leaf packs(passenger and driver side) on the truck. Before it broke, the springs on both sides were already flat when unloaded and if I put any amount of weight in the back I was hitting the bump stops very easily. The failure date was Tuesday, February 18, 2014.
