The VIN of the car is 1J4G248S8Y_. I purchased a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo in August 2000. Yesterday, my transmission failed and would jerk when shifted into reverse. Today, I contacted the dealership and was basically told "too bad," because my warranty was expired. I asked to speak to the gentleman that sold me the Jeep, was placed on hold for several minutes and then transferred to someone else's voice mail. My Jeep is 3 years old and has 60,000 miles on it (transmission failure!!!--I've had vehicles for 10 years with no transmission problems and three times as many miles). The business manager stated that she had seen vehicles with 3,000 miles on them fail (better watch out). The estimated cost to fix the transmission $1650. I purchased this vehicle new for reliable transportation and have had problems ever since. I have also had problems with the brakes and had to get the front rotors replaced as they were warped. My back windshield wiper hesitates before starting. It is sometimes hard to start and that has been happening since shortly after purchase. Staff at the dealerships are rude and unresponsive when notified of problems. Staff at the dealership informed me that repairs on my Jeep for a wiring problem would take 3 days, and they ordered the wrong parts and kept my Jeep for over 2 weeks (and then I had to take it back the next day due to wiring problems). I also hope Chrysler is aware that they have just lost a loyal Jeep owner/fan. I will never purchase another Jeep and will certainly not recommend it to anyone. I can't wait to get rid of this piece of crap. This issue happened on Oct. 24, 2003.

The vehicle involved is a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant. : the contact stated the vehicle did not start immediately upon turning the ignition. The warning lights illuminated briefly. Previously, the vehicle had been taken to 3 different private repair shops, who all determined the problem was with the starter. Each time, the starter was replaced, but the problem recurred. Also, a piece of the windshield wiper/washer switch detached from the switch itself, causing the washer to not function. The washer switch was not seen by a dealer, however, the manufacturer was contacted. There was a NHTSA recall # 99v305001, which pertains to the windshield wiper/washer switch. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN. Updated 12/5/2006 -. This issue happened on October 18, 2006.

The car was a 2001 Nissan Xterra. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 5N1ED28Y81_. Approximately one month ago after just starting my Xterra, I noticed that the rear windshield wiper was on. I began to press the switch to turn the wiper off, thinking I had left if on, but realized that it was already in the off position. The wiper then began to move again, and washer fluid started to spray on the window. After several attempts to turn the switch off and on, I finally resolved to remove the fuse for the rear wiper. (this also happened prior to a heavy rainfall later in the day, preventing me from using the rear wiper. ) after returning home, I reinserted the fuse, thinking it would simply reset the wiper. However, a short while after turning the engine on the next time in the car, both the wiper and washer fluid activated with the switch in the "off" position. I have found several references to similar problems in online Xterra owner forums, but have not found any recall notices from Nissan. It was 04/22/06 when this rear window wiper washer switch issue occurred.
