car   Wiper problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The car involved was a 2008 Chrysler town and country. Was driving down the road when the alarm started beeping, lights on dashboard flickered, and wipers go on and off on their own. Has happened several times. Now the passenger back door automatic buttons do not work and the driver's seat will move forward and back when driving. This is a huge safety issue and the Chrysler dealerships are not helpful in finding a solution. Said it will take several weeks to try and diagnose what's wrong. I am alarmed that more people are having similar issues and a recall has not been made. It's hard to drive when your seat is moving. In addition, sometimes my transmission will not shift. Seems to be an electrical problem. Once I turn the vehicle off and restart it, seems to run fine. It was 04/26/2014 when this wiper issue occurred.

The vehicle is a 2008 Chrysler town and country. We have been having an ongoing issue with our 2008 Chrysler town and country. The horn will start blowing, the wipers will come on, fluid will start spraying, the a/c will come off and on, doorlocks will not work, and all this will happen while driving and when it is sitting in the garage with no key in the ignition. I have a 4 year old daughter and when this happens while driving we have come very close to being in an accident. The only way to stop the vehicle from doing this is to disconnect the battery. Not safe. This wiper issue occurred May. 19, 2014.

car   Wiper problem of Honda Civic

Driver's side visor broke and fell off in August 2011 on my 2006 Honda Civic. Prior to August 2011, when moving it back into the nonuse position it would stick and hang in the way causing visibility problems. Then eventually broke all the way and just fell off. This was not due to misuse or overuse!!!! this is a faulty product!!! I am appalled that there has not been a corrective product designed and replaced through a recall scenario!!!! it is obvious there is a defect in this part!!!! if you will search the internet and even this site, you will see the number of complaints warrants a recall! this is a safety hazard as you cannot see when the sun is at a certain level in the sky without the visor, and you cannot see with a faulty visor that hangs in your field of vision when in a "broken but hasn't fallen off yet" scenario. Honda - you can do better than this!!!!!! please rectify this problem for the safety of me and my daughter!!!! I have owned several cars in my life and have never, never, never had a problem with a sunvisor. It was Tue., Aug. 23, 2011 when this wiper issue occurred.

car   Wiper problem of Hyundai Santa Fe

The car involved is a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. As I was driving is a rain storm, my battery light came on. I lost my window defrosting capability, my lights dimmed and I had no power steering. I am not sure what else was affected at this time as I was just concentrating on getting home alive. When home, I opened the engine compartment and found that the crank shaft pulley had come apart. Lucky, it was laying on a small ledge in the car. This could have fallen off, damaged the engine compartment, fallen to the street and become a rolling piece of metal. If a woman had been driving(this is actually my girlfriends car), this would have been a dangerous situation. It was Mon., May. 12, 2014 when this wiper issue occurred.

car   Wiper problem of Infiniti G35

The vehicle was a 2003 Infiniti G35. The VIN of the problem G35 is JNKCV54E43_. I recently got a used car from my friend, but the climate control doesn't work on the car. The problem has been a long time, but I noticed this after getting this car to me from my friend, but she said she has had this problem for long time. The specific problem is that the audio panel doesn't work, the climate panel is with the audio panel, so the climate control does not work at all. So I cannot control my climate in my car, so the front and rear window defroster all the time, it is really hard to drive. When I checked this problem with dealer and on the web, it is really,,common problem in this year and this kind of car, but the company doesn't have recall for this problem, so the dealer said it costs more than $1,000 to change the panel and to fix all problem. This doesn't make sense at all. Please check this problem, and correct this, thank you for reading my concern,. The failure date was 10/14/2013.

car   Wiper problem of Jeep Commander

The vehicle was a 2008 Jeep Commander. Purchased 3/11. 6/11 myself/3 others were lockedâ in the vehicle. Doors wouldn't unlock/open, windows didn't work, wouldn't start. We were held hostage for 5 min when it start up and everything worked. 6/11 exited-left the keys on seat 30 sec later lights inside flickered, doors locked, horn honked. 7/2011 driving down the highway at 70 mph it momentarily shut off for about 3 sec and turned its self-back on. This caused a drastic drop in speed before it restarted. 7/11 drivers side floor mat was very wet from rain entering the truck. 7/11 driving in a rain storm witnessed water coming down the driver's side pillar next to the windshield. 4/12 attempted to start it. Everything worked but wouldn't start 20 min later started right up. This happened 7 times since. 3/14 parked for 2 min wouldn't restart. Had it towed to a shop where they started it right up. They couldn't find anything wrong . Went to pick it up and it wouldn't start. So they started replacing things hoping they could find a problem. New battery-old battery was good, fuses, starter, relays and out of the blue two days later it started up even after attempts after the fixes 5/13 all lights went out, wipers, wiper sprayer, horn, blinkers, dash lights, rear park assist all stopped working. I was forced to drive home in the rain at night with none of these. 4/14 this happened again for about 24 hours. 5/14 this happened again for 5 days. I have called dealerships about recalls and always told no and to bring it in at $100/hour to find the issues. It has been hooked up to code readers 10+ time with no codes. Licensed mechanics who can tell me only what they think it could be, educated guesses. Every day is a guessing game with this Jeep and what it's going to do or when I'm going to get injured due to one of these numerous, chronic, magical issues. This issue happened on 04/01/2011.

car   Wiper problem of Lexus IS

Bought a certified pre-owned 2006 Lexus Is250 from hawaii dealer, noticed there was a massively blinding glare from the dashboard when driving during the morning and evening hours. car   Wiper problem of Lexus RX330

The car is a 2004 Lexus Rx330. The VIN of this Rx330 is 2T2GA31U64_. The vehicle dashboard has experienced abnormal cracking and decomposition throughout. It started with hairline cracks which spread all through the dash. Since the dash started to turn sticky/gummy, pieces of the dash started falling off near the ends (e. G. Where the dash meets the glove compartment). Of concern is airbag deployment in case of an accident. For example, since the dash has been compromised and has cracks, would the airbag deployment cause the dash to splinter and shoot pieces at the car's occupants? would the stickiness of the dash cause the airbag deployment to fail since it can stick to the dash due to it's newly acquired adhesive properties? visibility concerns arise due to the reflections of the dash on the windshield. Since the dash can no longer be kept clean because everything sticks to it, bothersome reflections are cast on the windshield during certain lighting conditions. The local Lexus dealership and Lexus corporate was notified and they inspected the vehicle. They said the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty and since my vehicle had not been serviced at the dealership, they would not pay to replace the dash; they did offer a 25% discount for the cost of the parts. From my research, it appears faulty materials may have been used by Toyota/Lexus for a period of some years as there are many reports of this same condition happening to other owners. Since there are safety concerns involved, I believe Lexus should be responsible and replace the faulty dashboards. This issue happened on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010.

car   Wiper problem of Lincoln Aviator

The vehicle is a 2004 Lincoln Aviator. I purchased this vehicle as a certified used vehicle. It had an extended warranty. Once it expired I've experienced every single complaint people have stated online about this vehicle. As of today (12/02/13) it still has only 74,000 miles on it and the latest problem is the transmission needs to be replaced but they don't know why. I am a stay at home mom and wear-and-tear on it is very minimal (grocery shopping, to and from school, etc. ). I have never had so many problems on a "so called" luxury vehicle before! I've had bad coils in cylinders 3, 4, 5 (twice), and 7 replaced under Lincoln's recall. The tailgate panel cracked (just like all the other people who own this vehicle and the mountaineers have complained about), but they won't fix it. In addition, a white plastic piece fell out of the top half of the tailgate and now it will not close anymore therefore I can no longer take it through car washes. The bracket for the sun visor on my passenger side completely deteriorated and caused the visor to suddenly dangle from the roof of my car while driving. Now, I cannot flip it up and it causes a blind spot. There is also something faulty with the brake light switch which drains my battery on a regular basis and I have to have my jumped. The brake light switch has been replaced 3 times now because it is has shorted out. To complicate matters, every time I take the car to the dealership for these repairs, they insist on doing a "diagnostics check" and every time they want to charge a fee for this service. Every time the price is different. . . Some times its $50, sometimes its $100. This vehicle is a lemon and I will never buy a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury again. It was Tue., Jul. 23, 2013 when this wiper issue occurred.

car   Wiper problem of Mazda RX8

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Mazda RX-8. The driver and passenger side sun visors have split open and flipped down spontaneously blocking my vision while driving. I've had multiple instances of the driver and passenger side sun visors splitting along the seams, causing them to disrupt my visibility of the road. I had my Mazda dealer replace the defective visors while under warranty on multiple occasions, but the defect continues to occur. Every single time I was informed that splitting sun visors was a common occurrence on all Mazda RX-8s. The lubricant inside the hinge of the visors would solidify during hot weather and cause the spring to expand, thus splitting the plastic sun visor along the seams. Since the visors hang in the downward position once the plastic has split, the only way to not obstruct my vision while driving is to completely remove them from their mounts. This, however, causes the added problem of not having any way to block direct sunlight that can shine on your face in the early morning or evening. The only recourse given to me is to continually replace the sun visors at $75 each every few months. I find that this is a potential safety hazard that should be addressed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. It was Wednesday, April 2, 2014 when this wiper issue happened.

car   Wiper problem of Mercedes Benz SLK230

The VIN of the car is WDBKK49F51_. Vehicle type is 2001 Mercedes Benz Slk230 (r170 model). The inside rear view mirror is an electrochromic self dimming mirror that has no manual backup. The mirrors fail losing their ability to provide dimming against rear approaching headlights causing the driver to either be blinded or to have to turn the mirror up and have no rear view capability. I know of many documented cases of these mirrors failing including my own. Some fail by just quitting working while others leak the internal fluid. The failure date was Feb. 26, 2014.

car   Wiper problem of Mercedes Benz ML350

The car is a 2013 Mercedes Benz Ml350. On 1/11/14 at approximately 5:45 p. M. Amidst a very heavy downpour with the wipers in use, I was traveling eastward on I-95 at about 60 mph approaching new haven, with my wife and son as passengers, when I heard a loud noise and immediately saw that my wipers had interlocked and stopped functioning, leaving me with almost no visibility. I slowed down, put on flashers, and was able safely to reach the next exit and come to a stop on a local street. The passenger side wiper mechanism had come apart. I disengaged the blade so that the driver side wiper was able to function. I took the car this morning (1/14) to the mercedes dealer in white plains, NY. The service rep upon seeing the disengaged arm said he's seen it happen before, and he immediately concluded that the "screws" had come loose due to use of the wipers during the recent severe cold weather/snow without scraping the windshield before use, and that the loosening of the screws was "better" than burning out a $700 wiper motor. I do not agree with that statement in light of the serious risk of an accident when suddenly and without any warning I had almost no visibility at night in a heavy downpour doing 60 mph on an interstate highway. It was Saturday, January 11, 2014 when this wiper issue occurred.

car   Wiper problem of Mercury Grand Marquis

The vehicle involved is a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis. While driving on expressway at night in a driving rainstorm, my wipers quit working. I was able to pull over until the rain stopped, but could have been a disaster. On April 23rd the dealer diagnosed the wiper motor assembly was bad. P/n 8w7z*17508*a. I have found since the redesign of wiper motor assembly in 2003, that the wiper motors get water in them and short or corrude the intergral wiper electronic board. Even thought the failure rate may be low, the potential for a disaster, like I could of had is great. This part should be redesigned and effected vehicles recalled. I have no complaint with the dealer work. This wiper issue occurred Apr. 21, 2014.

car   Wiper problem of Mercury Grand Marquis

The car is a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. I was driving home with my wife and wipers came on in delay mode by themselves without me touching anything . I called my dealer and was told that they thought it was the wiper motor or the multi function switch . First I replaced multi function switch and the same issue wiper came on in delay mode . I then replaced the wiper motor and that worked until 3/19/14 while I took my car out for my 31st wedding anniversary with my wife we were driving to go to dinner and my wiper came on once again at this point I am so outraged at this because I just put new wiper blade on 2 days before and they just started going on in the same way as before in delay mode . I once again have to look into this wiper issue and I am sick to death nothing ever gets recalled or the cost taken by Ford for the many issues with this car. There is now 44000 mile on a car I only use when it's nice out and this is just one more problem to deal with again . This problem occurred on April 2, 2011.

The car involved was a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. The first time I drove this vehicle in the snow I realized that the wipers are placed below the heated part of the windshield. This causes the wipers to freeze up and not clear the windshield properly reducing visibility. I think that an angled wiper arm that places the wiper over the defog would correct the problem. I've driven in snowy weather twice since and it has happened each time. This problem occurred on 12/08/2013.

car   Wiper problem of SAAB 9-3

The vehicle involved was a 2006 SAAB 9-3. There was crash involved with this problem. The VIN of this vehicle is YS3FD49Y76_. Windshield wiper transmission broke at 60mph on a two lane road while passing a semi during heavy rainfall. Complete loss of windshield wipers occurred, loosing all visibility which became very dangerous given the vehicle position, speed and other traffic. I own and operate a SAAB repair shop and this is a very common failure on all 2003-2011 SAAB 9-3 models where the plastic linkage pops off drive motor causing complete or partial loss of wipers. car   Wiper problem of Subaru Forester

The vehicle involved was a 2010 Subaru Forester. As I was driving, the driver's sun visor dropped into my forehead creating a shocking reaction. I attempted to place it back up, but it kept falling down. I then left it in a down position that you would place it if sun was in your eyes. I went over to the local dealer and they said it has been happening to quite a few of the Forester cars. I asked if it was a recall and he said he checked and it wasn't. Because the car was over 3 years old, it was out of warrantee and it would be a charge of around $125. 00 or so to be repaired. I explained that the car has not been abused and if I probably had not used the visor more than a dozen times. He indicated maybe the original dealer would honor fixing it because of such low mileage. I did go back to the original dealer and unfortunately they would not honor it and would be happy to repair it for around the same price. He also told me to buy velcro and it should hold it up. I invested in many strengths of velcro to find out that it would not adhere to the ceiling material of the car and repeatedly flops down in the same fashion as it did initially. My complaint is that this should be a recall as clearly it is a safety issue. I cannot drive the car safely in a down position as it interferes with visability. I am so disappointed with Subaru's reaction to my problem. Thank you for your help. This problem occurred on Mar. 25, 2014.

car   Wiper problem of Subaru Impreza

The vehicle involved is a 2011 Subaru Impreza. Add me as well to the list of Subaru drivers whose driver side sun visor broke and no longer stayed in place. The control arm on the visor cracked, resulting in the visor hanging down directly in front of the driver and impairing visibility. We were required to remove the visor and lack the use of a visor during glare conditions which was also a safety issue as both conditions impair the driver's ability to see oncoming traffic, obstacles in the road, etc. This seems like a serious defect which many others have apparently had an issue with as well, and clearly should be the subject of a recall. We were forced to purchase a new visor from the dealership for $100. This issue happened on Jan. 27, 2014.

car   Wiper problem of Suzuki Verona

The car involved was a 2006 Suzuki Verona. So far, windshield wiper arm came loose and flopped around while driving in severe storm. Transmission makes a loud clunk when re accelerating at 5 and 20 mph. Windshield wiper arm was tightened, no prob. Since. Transmission still clunks and have had in to dealer 4 times already. They have replaced a control arm and a ball joint. Then had to take back to have steering wheel realigned due to their neglect. After that steering wheel made a clicking noise for about a week. Dealership claims they are unable to find the source of the clunk or to even re create it. It happens for me daily. Next car completely shut off and steering wheel locked up at night while I was driving through a parking garage. Unable to steer car. Today, brakes acted like they weren't going to stop the car, sounded and felt like a spring that is being depressed and not able to compensate for the load. My main complaint, concern is that car will shut off in traffic and I will not be able to steer and will cause an accident. Also, that the clunking in transmission and is a design defect. This wiper issue occurred Apr. 21, 2008.
