car   Power Window problem of Chrysler Crossfire

The car was a 2006 Chrysler Crossfire. When I purchased my vehicle in December 2007, I did not had any major problems. Until. . . On or about the first of June, 2012, I parked my car and noticed that the rear window had come a part from the convertible top. Since I had not been in an accident, I began to research online to see if other consumers had experienced this window issue. Site after site, complaint after complaint was read. With so many people experiencing this problem without a suitable response or solution to its consumer, this has become a serious problem, a defect that must be resolved and the cars should be recalled. The potential to endanger lives far outweighs any other consideration. When someone buys a convertible, one doesn't expect to be driving along and the glass comes flying down and out. It's not safe! the only repair solution is the entire top must be replaced (costing upwards of $2100) due to no negligence of the consumer. If I have read these complaints, I'm certain that Chrysler has as well. Years of this problem has persisted. Still poor production of this same product and no recall by Chrysler. The company hasn't skimped on the sales prices on this vehicle. I don't expect it to take shortcuts when it comes to consumer safety. Why should the consumer suffer loss of safety and welfare? I humbly ask that these vehicles be recalled. It was 06/02/2012 when this power window issue happened.

car   Power Window problem of Ford F-150

The vehicle was a 2010 Ford F-150. 2010 Ford f150 supercrew power rear sliding window pass side only, cracking upon turning on rear defroster after a few minutes. Temperature 15 degrees within a few minutes of leaving a store parking lot and now driving down the highway a few miles I heard a loud bang ( many others posted say it sounds like a 22 caliber shot gun ) I looked around and saw the rear pass sliding window shattered but still intact. This is the first time I had to use the rear defroster as it was snowing sleeting outside. I have had this truck for 2 years and never had to use it. Now when I get home I decide to google search this and couldn't believe how common this is. Turn out there is a problem and Ford will not make it right unless you are very lucky and persistent. The heating element gets so hot that it shatters the glass. They claim glass is not covered. Its not the glass, its the heating element. I called 3 local dealers today and 2 of the three said they knew about this but Ford wont offer compensation. I was told to call the insurance and file a claim. I also called Ford customer care center and told them what I had learned and it was all over the Ford forums and the internet. Same scenario for all of us. I am just glad that I didn't have a child in the rear pass seat and had this happen or had the glass shatter all over the child. So now I have to pay a $500. 00 deductible and file a claim with my insurance carrier. Worse yet I was told today that no windows were available for 10 days. Hmm makes you wonder why?. This issue happened on January 19, 2014.

There should be a recall especially since its not just one coupe but rather 90% of them. As well as Infiniti wants $500. 00 to fix. The failure date was May 9, 2010.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage. The vehicle had a crash. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is JA3AY26C7Y_. We had the car aligned several times after the control arm was replaced on the right side front wheel. It was broke when car was purchased. The car stalled about 5 different times at highway speeds. I asked the repair department to check but they said there was no problem. The right window motor went out and had to be repaired. The accident that occurred on 2-13-2001 happened because the engine stalled and when the car pulled to the right my daughter went off the road and was unable to correct before hitting a tree and fence at around 60 mph the car was totalled and the air bags failed to deploy. Luckily my daughter was not severely injured. She suffered some cuts, bruising and back pain from the accident. A passenger with her at the time was shook up, but was unhurt. This could have been prevented had they fixed the car when it was taken in. I was never told that there had been recalls on cars made in japan which is where this cars parts came from and assembly took place. I have contaced customer service and they only give me the run around saying they want proof the car failed. I would think pictures of the vehicle and our statements would say something. I have photos of the car and the airbag area. This power window issue occurred Tuesday, February 13, 2001.

car   Power Window problem of Subaru Legacy

The vehicle was a 2000 Subaru Legacy. Driving to work car running for approximately 20 min. The window control switch inside the driver side door smoked and quickly caught fire. I immediately slowed down and pulled over to the right shoulder and turned off the card. I opened the door and stepped out. Within a few seconds the panel on the car door also caught fire and starting melting. I had beach towel in the back of the car, and tried to smother the fire with the towel, but quickly decided the fire was too large, growing too quickly and was actually inside the door. I gave up on the towel, and in last ditch effort to the save the car I grabbed, and tore off the plastic door panel and threw it to ground. Some of the melted plastic from the door panel did get on my hands, and I received several burns to my fingers that required medical attention. I was then able to extinguish the remaining fire. car   Power Window problem of Suzuki XL7

The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Suzuki Xl7 is 2S3DA21717_. I am the original owner of a 2007 Suzuki Xl7. Due to disabilities in the family I put several miles on this vehicle. From the beginning I have several issues w/this vehicle. Because of Suzuki's lack of concern/interest I have decided to make formal complaints about the "safety" issues today. If I was to list all problems with this vehicle I would be here all day. Out of 4 passenger windows we currently have only 2 functioning. When diagnosed I was told that one window was the motor and the other was electrical. After paying $76. 00 to the dealership to identify the electrical problem they told me that they would need at least an additional hour (additional $76. 00) to find the wiring problem. I declined. I have made several calls to Suzuki, about their product, to which they have replied I have too many miles on my car and they will do nothing for me. Also, the latches that fold the middle seats down often stick. At any given time you can go to pull one up so as to fold the middle seats and they will not budge! we have already had this issue addressed way back in the beginning of owning the vehicle. When we brought it back in to have the multiple issues addressed (something Suzuki suggested we do to see if we could help) we were told that "they would need to be taken apart to see what the problem was". For a cost, of course. We do not let our daughters ride in the third row seating for fear that if something happened they could not get out!! Suzuki's rep (who I was told was on vacation and didn't know when he could consider our issues) quickly emailed back to the dealer "too many miles, not going to help". I cannot even begin to afford the multiple problems w/this car and the value has decreased so that trading it in is just not an option. My concern is that I drive my children in this car daily and everytime I hope and pray nothing major happens. My children now call the car the "lemon" or the "beater". As they too are well aware of all the problems w/the vehicle. It was Mar. 31, 2010 when this power window issue occurred.

car   Power Window problem of Audi A6

The vehicle is a 2000 Audi A6. Windows roll down by themselves. I have heard from many sources, that this is a very common problem with Volkswagen passat's, and Audi's. The fix is replacing the regulator, at a very high cost. This problem should be permanently fixed, as it is a hazard to be driving down the highway in a storm at 65 miles an hour, and have all the windows start opening. This will go on, every minute or so. Should be fixed, prior to people getting into accidents. It was Feb. 6, 2003 when this power window issue happened.

car   Power Window problem of Buick Lesabre

The car is a 2000 Buick Lesabre. The driver's side window was stuck and would not come back up, it was fixed and two years later broke again, and the rear window on the driver's side did the same thing. This happened in the middle of winter, in the midwest, with temperatures in the teens. We had to duct-tape the window closed to be able to drive the car in freezing temperatures. I cannot believe the same car has had 3 issues in 2 years with the window mechanisms! something is terribly wrong, and it has cost over $600 to fix the car! the repairs do not last. Apparently the manufacturer uses cheap plastic parts which break. Are we never supposed to use an atm or a drive-through? it is very dangerous not to have windows go back up, especially in rain, snow, and freezing temperatures. This issue happened on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.
