Rear Window Wiper Washer Motor problem is a common vehicle problem that happens to most car brands and models. The following is a sample list of Rear Window Wiper Washer Motor problems reported in most popular vehicles.
The car involved is a 1997 Chevrolet Venture. The VIN of the car is 1GNDX06E1V_. Rear windshield wiper motor failure. Gears were made of plastic components. Gears when replaced were found to be broken and caused need for replacement. When replacement was done again the gears broke causing additional required replacement. Due to the design of the vehicle, rain dust and debris accumulate on the rear window causing the need for rear window wiper to function properly to allow clear viewing by the driver of the vehicle. Third replacement piece has continued to function at this time. At time of replacement, we were informed by two separate dealers that this was a common problem of this particular vehicle, but no recalls had been made to their knowledge, and no recalls were available for this particular product. I did contact the Chevrolet site to ask about this particular problem without any response from the company regarding this concern. **dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis*769761. This issue happened on Saturday, September 1, 2001.

The car was a 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. Last winter the rear windshield wiper quit working completely. Now the front windshield wipers will not work on high and when they are turned on high, they just stop in the middle of the windshield. Sometimes when I turn them off they will go all the way down and then about 1/4 of the way back up and just stop. I am concerned that I will not be able to see out the back window and that the front wipers will completely stop when I am driving. I will not be able to see and it will risk other drivers and people during hard rain or snow. I have read many complaints about this and some cannot even drive the vehicles. I have checked the fuses, replaced the blades, made sure there is washer fluid and had a mechanic tell me that he has had complaints of the same thing. When the motors are replaced, the wipers still do not work. The failure date was Dec. 1, 2009.

The reporting person owns a 2002 Ford Windstar. The contact entered her vehicle and noticed thick white smoke inside the entire passenger compartment. The fire department arrived and disconnected the battery. They stated that an electrical fire had occurred. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster, who determined that the rear window wiper motor failed and caused the fire. The vehicle was labeled as destroyed due to the cost to clean the chemicals out of the vehicle, which was more than the vehicle's worth. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop. The technician stated that the window wiper motor caused the failure. The contact called the manufacturer and her VIN was requested. She was later informed that she needed to call her insurance company for further assistance. The failure mileage was 82,241. It was Thursday, May 28, 2009 when this rear window wiper washer motor issue happened.

The vehicle was a 1998 GMC Yukon. About 3 hours into a long-distance trip, during heavy rain, the windshield wipers on my car quit working. I was pulling a camp trailer and had 4 children in the car with me. It was a very frighening experience and caused us all great distress and anxiety with the dangerous situation. There was no pull-out available so I was forced to stop the vehicle while it stuck out in the roadway. I turned off the engine and opened the hood of the car. I lightly hit the wiper motor with a rock. The wipers started working again. I continued driving with caution not knowing when the wipers might quit working again. Since that time I have used a lubricant to help repell water from my windshield and try to limit the use of my wipers unless absolutely necessary. I cannot depend on my wipers to give me visability. I contacted the GMC assistance center in detroit and filed a complaint with them. They did not write me back. My GMC mechanic has also tried to get GMC to replace this known defect in their washer assembly, also without success. Please put pressure on GMC to include 1998 Yukons in their recall. This rear window wiper washer motor issue occurred Aug. 26, 2003.

Pushed brakes to the floor and seemed to pick up speed. Air bag did not deploy. Totaled the other car. Went right up on top of his back end. It cost me 200. 00 to fix my Yukon. Had already replace abs system about 8 years ago. The back windsheild shattered one day when I got into the drivers seat. The windsheild wipers had serious problem. Replaced the computer part twice. It was Monday, Sep. 25, 2006 when this rear window wiper washer motor issue occurred.

The vehicle involved is a 2003 Honda Odyssey. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 2HKRL18093_. Without much or any warning my transmission failed (the dreaded p0730 code showed up on the scanner) on my 2003 Honda Odyssey ex-l van with only 100,325 miles. The van was never abused or used to tow. Transmission was rebuilt 1. 30. 12 by private shop continental transmission for $1800. (torque converter blown to pieces). Honda does have limited recalls on trannys but mine was not included (only if 2nd shaft is broken & scored and burnt/ bluish color) this will documented tranny problem with 2nd generation Odyssey is very upsetting and I blame it on a poor design by Honda engineers (under sized tranny paired with a power v6 240hp heavy 4500lbs van has been a recipe for premature failure). The worst part was on 1. 5. 12 I just had extensive preventative maintenance done at don davis Honda (timing belt, water pump, tensioner and power steering belts) and two weeks later the transmission fails!!! other issues with the van have been, ac compressor failed may 2010 88,648 miles. Rear wiper motor failed March 2011 89,240 miles, both sliding power door rollers had to replaced. Brake switch failed (locked up), Dec 2011 98,750 miles van would not move out of park. Not real happy or confident with Honda right now!. It was Jan. 26, 2012 when this rear window wiper washer motor issue occurred.

The car involved was a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. Purchased brand new oct 2006
in this order. . . I know a few things are missing. Clutch master cylinder failure - couldn't get the car back in gear. Pulls to the right all the time even though it is in "perfect alignment" according to dealer. Terribly uneven tire wear even with 3k mile tire rotations. 2 inside sidewall blow outs. 1 tread separation blowout
2 idler pulley failures. Windshield wiper motor failure. Windshield washer pump failure. Sunroof motor and switch failure. Bent rim. Air conditioning wire short which resulted in ac clutch failure just after 60,000 (of course)
ac clutch failure results in constant bearing squealing. Aluminum clutch pedal cover fell off and they wouldn't replace it. Rear hatch release works about half the time. I know there's more, I just can't recall all of it right off. This rear window wiper washer motor problem happened on May. 19, 2009.

The car was a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. It seems only a few days after I bought my Tiburon I have been having problems with my rear wiper. The first time it was grinding and making noise/motor. Took it in to dealership (van dynhoven in appleton, WI) of course they could not verify the problem. A few months later during cold weather it would just stop working and you could see it was struggling. Shut it off 10 min later would be working again. (obvious motor problem). Took it in to dealership, again could not verify. It continued happening during colder weather, must have taken in at least 3 times. They could never verify. I work for a gm dealership and after only reading the complaint I have written I would already know what the problem is and replaced the part. Hyundai cant tell me that they are not having problems with these rear wipers, because the new 2005's dont even have a rear wiper anymore. Apparently Hyundai doesnt have customer surveys like gm, I never got one, if I did that dealership would get a bad mark. I am now considering buying a Subaru-impreza and trading my tibby in. Of course at a different dealer. This issue happened on Jan. 1, 2005.

The car involved is a 2009 Mazda Mazda3. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is JM1BK32F29_. I submitted a reimbursement application form for the replacement of my wiper motor $438. 07. The motor was replaced on January 4, I sent in the reimbursement application on January 5, and was denied on January 10. I resubmitted it two more times, because I believe I should be reimbursed for the price of the replacement of the wiper motor due to the fact that the recall on the ground harness is directly related to the wiper motor failing over time. I never received the recall notice, and therefore never had the chance to fix the harness before it caused the wiper motor to stop working. I have placed numerous phone calls, but each time I am told that they will investigate and get back with me. No one ever calls back. This rear window wiper washer motor issue occurred 01/05/12.
