Door Hinge problem is a common vehicle problem that happens to most car brands and models. The following is a sample list of Door Hinge problems reported in most popular vehicles.
The car involved was a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Our 2003 chevy Trailblazer has smelled like fuel for a few months and we have been going through gas like crazy. We just discovered a cracked valve connecting the hose to the fuel tank. Of course, chevy doesn't just sell the valve, they want you to buy a whole new tank. After researching online, this seems to be a common problem, maybe a defect with this model and make for 2002-2004 models. I have 3 small children and am concerned that this is a huge safety issue. We had another defect problem with our Trailblazer last year, where the hinges on the rear door wore out and we had to replace the entire door. This is also a common problem with Trailblazers, but chevy will not issue a recall. We paid the $2500 for the rear door, but I don't want to pay another $1000+ for the fuel tank. This vehicle is becoming a money pit. This door hinge issue occurred 04/30/2012.

There was no indicating factors around the vehicle such as rocks, or bricks that could have broken the vehicle. The glass fell at least 3 feet from vehicle. No other problems with vehicle which is regularly serviced. File number from daimler Chrysler 13644870. This problem occurred on June 7, 2005.

The vehicle involved was a 2001 Chrysler town and country. The VIN of this vehicle was 2C8GP64L11_. The driver's side rear automatic sliding door ceased working during cold weather conditions at random times over a couple of years & then suddenly the automatic function of the door would not work at all when the button is pressed from the inside. Even worse is that the door will not open when using the manual handle with the lever. This is extremely dangerous, as small children could be trapped. Earlier when I took it to a dealership, they stated that a new track harness & something else was needed at a cost over $500. We cannot afford this. Doors should work manually without $500 parts. There is nothing physically wrong with the door, nor has it been in a collision etc. The failure date was February 10, 2008.

The vehicle having this issue was a 1994 Dodge Dakota. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 1B7GL23X0R_. Front left door snapped off. I can't open the drivers door from the inside. Also, both seat belts snapped, the air and heat doesn't work, the brakes locked up, which affected the steering. The transmission was replaced three timed, the vehicle would loose power and the engine would die. The catalytic converter rattled. There was a rough idle and then the vehicle would stall. The cruise control was inoperative, the tires wore out prematurely. Also, I had difficulty getting the vehicle out of park. The idler arm is in the process of breaking, the ignition broke after the keys became stuck, the fuel pump failed and the bearing and bushing needs to be replaced. This problem occurred on 01/01/2007.

The vehicle had a crash. 2001 Dodge Stratus was hit on passenger side by a Jeep cherokee traveling at approximately 40 mph. The door setup in the Stratus was not at all effective. Not only did the door provide absolutely no protection to a passenger had there been one, but the entire door was forced into the inside of the vehicle. The intruding door struck and injured the driver in the car. Whether or not there was anything wrong with the structural design in the door, it should have been secured to the outside of the vehicle. Regardless, this would have been fatal to anyone on the passenger side of the car. Changes should be made to new models. This is an unacceptable flaw in the design of the car. How can daimlerchrysler sacrifice a hundred or two pounds of solid steel and hundred of precious lives to get another mile to the gallon? that passenger should have been me, but I didn't feel like going out that night. Little did I know, that had I left my house, I would not be here today. Please help me correct these awful flaws in today's compact and midsize cars. This door hinge issue occurred Fri., Mar. 11, 2005.

The car involved was a 1997 Acura 2. 2cl. I was driving a long last week in my 1997 Acura 2. 2cl that I just purchased last August 2002, with only 27,000 miles on it now with 47,000 miles and I went to put down my driver side automatic window and the window just fell into the door. This should no way happen to a car that has only 47,000 miles on it. I took it to an autobody shop and they said I needed a new "runner" and new cables in the door. Approximately a 200-250$ job which I shouldn't be paying for when my car is at such young mileage. I could see if I had to replace a belt or something like that with the engine, no problem, but a window, no way!. It was Thu., Aug. 28, 2003 when this door hinge issue occurred.
