car   Hatchback/liftgate problem of GMC Envoy

At approximately 8 am Friday January 27th I opened the back hatch of my GMC Envoy. Approximately 4-6 inches pulling it down to shut it the entire window shattered all over me, the ground and inside my car. I called my insurance, paid the deductible to have it replaced, it was fixed and then today January 28th, one day after having it replaced I was closing the door again and at approximately the same point in closing it completely shattered again. This is twice in two days. I was told the first time it probably had to do with the weather but the weather was warmer today than yesterday and several forums have shown this problem occurring in all weather conditions. This seems to be a vehicle issue vs a weather issue. It was Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 when this hatchback/liftgate issue occurred.

car   Hatchback/liftgate problem of GMC Yukon

The car involved was a 2007 GMC Yukon denali. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1GKFK638X7_. 2007 denali with 22,000 miles had a liftgate failure. After a $78. 00 diagnosis at local dealer the repair estimate was $450. 00. According to gm customer service personnel the repair is not under warranty, and further more because we purchased it used it won't be eligible for any assistance from gm either. While evaluating problem I noticed there is no egress possible from inside while problem exists. This seems like a very dangerous condition because an emergency that disables typical egress through doors would leave the rear liftgate as only choice to escape from fire or water for instance. This issue happened on 05/27/2010.

Still, even with the rod disengaged, it could not be fully shut. I was able to tie down the hatch half way shut so that I could drive it to a dealership to be repaired. By researching similar problems other cx-9 owners had, I was able to determine that insulation around the worm gear of the motor, behind the left rear panel, had loosened and gotten caught in the worm gear. This is a problem that is related to construction of the vehicle, since the insulation is behind a secured panel and not accessible by the operator. The dealership has attempted to fix the problems with the doors. The tire problems began about 2 weeks after the purchase of the vehicle. Tire lights are coming on, indicating that the tires are loosing air. Owner advises that one time the tire light would come on about every block. The vehicle was taken to the dealership after this. The tire had a nail in it. There is also problems with the transmission. When shifting from park to drive, it is very difficult to shift. Owner received a recall letter about this last year and in January of 2005. The recall number is not available. The dealership states that this recall is closed. The dealership won't look any further into the transmission. There is a problem with the front passenger seat, you could see the metal in the seat. The radio has been replaced three times. car   Hatchback/liftgate problem of Nissan Quest

The car involved is a 2004 Nissan Quest. It is in the shop right now for issues with handling, the liftgate arm coming out of the door, abs, slip, traction lights are on all the time, cruise control is inoperable, rear wiper assembly has broken for the second time, front washer fluid is not working. Most notably are the issues with the liftgate and handling. We took the vehicle into the dealer several months ago for both issues. Our liftgate would never open on the first try. They checked into it and kept the vehicle for several days. We were given a rental and told they would pay for it and in the end they charged our credit card for it. They had a tech from Nissan fly out to look at it. They informed us that they were waiting on parts. We picked up the vehicle and never heard from them again. The other day I went out to open the door. It had pulled the molding loose and I could see metal shavings at the end of the strut. We have had it in with complaints about the handling before. We suspected that the rotors were to blame. Every time we brought this up we were told that wasn't the case. We were told to replace the brakes to solve the issue. We then replaced all four tires. Nothing has solved the problem. When driving on the highway the steering wheel shakes and the vehicle shudders when the brakes are applied. It has been doing this since approximately 15,000 miles. The ac blow hot if you sit for more than a few minutes with the engine running. If you rev the engine, it just blows hotter. You have to drive around for several minutes to get the ac to blow cold again. We are less than happy with Nissan's customer service. We have called them several times and emailed and have had no resolution on any complaint. We have been told by them that a rep will call us and it has never happened. It was 07/17/2006 when this hatchback/liftgate issue happened.

The car was a 2003 Volkswagen Passat. The VIN of the problem Passat is WVWWH63B93_. I recently leased a vw Passatt station wagon and things have gone wrong with it even before the car had 300 miles on it. Defects have included a transmission that would disengage, heated seats that would not turn off, a/c and side mirrors that would not work, a module had to be replaced, the car had to be aligned, the front spoiler fell off, a speaker had to be replaced, part of the trim on the back was falling off, the memory settings on the driver's seat were not working, and the sun roof was rattling. The sales department has responded to all my calls by saying that I need to talk to the service department or to vw corporate directly. I have done both, when I called vw corporate they responded that as long as the car was driveable they would cover it under warranty and would not replace the car. They offered me a lube job as a settlement!. The failure date was September 19, 2002.
