car   Frame And Members problem of Acura TL

The VIN of this Tl is 19UUA56621_. My 2001 Acura Tl with 162,000 miles has a subframe that is severely rusted and weakened to the point of collapse on the passenger side of the vehicle. Acura has decided to call this normal wear and tear but I strongly disagree. The air conditioning condensing unit has a small hose for condensate that is located directly above the site of the rust. This hose has been dripping onto the subframe whenever the ac has been in use. This is not wear and tear, it is a design flaw that Acura is not owning up to and if the weakened subframe were to break while the car is being driven this would be a significant safety issue. The other parts of the subframe are in fine condition, there is only one explanation why it would be rusted out in this one place. It was 02/22/11 when this frame and members issue happened.

car   Frame And Members problem of Infiniti QX4

While driving my 2003 Infiniti Qx4 on the highway, I noticed a severe vibration coming from the left side of my vehicle and tire. I took it to a local service repair shop and they took off my left front tire and saw where my inner apron was severely corroded, cracked and perforated. They stated they never seen such a type of corrosion in this area and that I should have the manufacturer look at it and take it to a body shop. They stated that the vehicle should be repaired as soon as possible as it was a serious safety risk as the strut tower could dislodge and come up through the hood of my vehicle which is close to my brake line and could affect my steering. I did take it 2 body shops both of which concurred that this type of corrosion should not have happened and they also stressed it was compromising my safety and there could be a shift of my suspension and loss of control of my vehicle while driving. I did contact Infiniti service department and it was only glanced at not inspected. I filed a complaint with Infiniti consumer affairs and wrote a letter to the owner of closest dealership. I was than about a week later asked by the local dealer if they could look at my SUV again and pictures were emailed by body shop to the service department of dealership and sent to corporate and my request to have them repair vehicle was denied and I have had vehicle repaired at my cost at local body shop. Pictures are available that were taken by body shop and I statement of serious safety risk of vehicle is also available from body shop. The failure date was February 14, 2009.

car   Frame And Members problem of Jeep Wrangler

The vehicle having this issue was a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1J4FA49S91_. Major frame rot: we are the original owners of this vehicle and always maintained it per the schedule. I bought the Jeep to my mechanic for some routine maintenance. When he removed the drivers side rear wheel he noticed serious frame rot. He told me the Jeep is no longer safe to drive and not worth putting any more money into. When I got home, I scratched the rust with my fingernail and was easily able to poke my finger right through the frame. A quick internet search revealed the frame rot is a very common design flaw for the Wrangler tj series. Apparently moisture, road debris, etc. Is allowed to enter the interior of the frame but nothing in the design allows for its exit. Since this creates a condition that allows the frame to rot from the inside-out, by the time it is discovered it is typically too late. Many companies now manufacture special frame pieces to repair the damage if you are one of the lucky ones who are made aware of what to look for before too much damage has been done. I sincerely hope Jeep will treat this defect the way Toyota did with the tacoma in 2008-2009!. This frame and members issue occurred 06/15/12.

car   Frame And Members problem of Kia Motor Soul

The vehicle having this issue was a 2010 Kia Motor Soul. Factory installed windshield chips and cracks from the edge easily and often. I had the first window replaced at about 5,000 miles and that window was a genuine kia window installed and now it has two small chips and a crack from the edge of the glass and one big chip at 8,000 miles. I have not changed my driving and have never occurred this many window defects. I believe the window to be not properly annealed or treated in the furnace or it is just too thin. Rear window on Land Rover Lr3 dropped on my wife as she was unloading vehicle. The vehicle body attachment of the passenger side support arm failed and this problem has been reported within the Land Rover service organizations but is being treated as a warranty problem. car   Frame And Members problem of Land Rover Discovery Ii

The car involved was a 1999 Land Rover Discovery Ii. The VIN of this vehicle was SALTY1240X_. During my commute I noticed a rattle coming from the rear of my vehicle. Upon inspection I found that the shock mount on the rear right side had seperated from the frame of the vehicle. There is a hole in the frame where the shock mount was welded. I brought the vehicle to Land Rover alexandria. The service manager and a whole group of technicians expressed complete amazement when they saw the damage. Nobody could figure out how this happened. This is an accident free vehicle with a good service history through Land Rover. The original explanation I was given said that there must have been a bad weld or defect in manufacturing. I was insured that my frame is incredibly strong and this should not have happened. A field technician and regional rep were brought out. Land rover has informed me that my vehicle has not been serviced properly and they can not fix this problem for me. They have not record of the vehicle being regularly serviced. I offered to fax details from Land Rover denver east, Land Rover richmond, and Land Rover alexandria. These were the servicing facilities. This could potentially have been a very dangerous situation. Land rover has informed also that I must replace my frame. This issue happened on Apr. 15, 2004.

car   Frame And Members problem of Lexus IS250

The VIN of the problem Is250 is JTHBK26266_. Lexus Is250. Drive shaft came off. I had an accident on inter-state 75/85 north bound in downtown atlanta around exit 248b. The front driver side wheel came off in the middle of highway. I did not hit any car except the broken tire hit concrete wall and stopped against concrete wall. I reported this issue to Toyota immediately but it took them 3 months to inspect the car. Since I can not afford to let it sat in collision center for a while, I had to repaired. By the time, they inspected on Nov. 25, 2009. It got all repaired. I did show picture to them. However, Lexus refuse to offer any assistance after inspection. Lexus said that I could hit something that it's why my rim was damaged. Of course, my rim was damaged because it hit concrete wall after it came off. Those pictures showed that I did not hit any where (including front bumper). Atlanta police came immediately since this accidents was on interstate. However, according to him that I don;t need to file report because there is no other party or property damage. It was only my car. I went to hospital for neck check out. X ray did show something unusual but my own insurance covered the charge. Please review and see if any related incident to prevent future issue. car   Frame And Members problem of Lexus ES350

The vehicle is a 2008 Lexus Es350. I bought one Lexus (Toyota) ES 350 last November with about 3,500 miles (currently 8,200miles). Recently, I found front wheel on the right side could not be recovered to straight position (steering also). I took my car to Lexus dealer in peoria, IL, but they talked me that the issues happen because your car hit holes or curbs. I want to ask who can tell me that their cars never hit holes or curbs, if issues happen as long as your car hits holes or curbs. I think issues happen when a strong outside force was added to the objects such tire or rim or body, but this time not any damage in tire, rim or body, how come only inside damage happen first. I have very strong engineering background, I would like to ask Lexus (Toyota) how big outside force will led to this damage, and if and what the outside damage happen when same strength force is added tire, rim or body. I think Lexus (Toyota) shrink their responsibility such as they have done. My wife drives a new BMW about 4 years, but nothing happen even though hit many holes or curbs. Lexus is luxury car, not a toy. We define a car as a luxury car, not only interior, but also in safety, which has enough strength to bear outside force. If car damaged as long as it hit a hole or curb. If yes, I can say Lexus was made by paper or flour. I think this is a issues of design. This problem occurred on Wed., Feb. 3, 2010.

car   Frame And Members problem of Mazda RX8

The car was a 2004 Mazda Rx8. For the past 3 years, the clutch pedal on my car has squeaked and groaned when depressed. This would not be consistent, and very hard to diagnose. Today, while driving a short distance towards work (I live and work on a military base), a metallic "pop" came from my clutch pedal while being depressed and no longer disengaged the clutch. This almost caused an accident as it was "rush hour. " I quickly noticed while driving that my clutch pedal was almost touching my brake as I attempted to slow down! also, if I had stopped moving at any point, I and my car would have been stranded as I would not have been able to get my car back into gear. Upon inspection at home, it appears a weld on the right side that holds the clutch pedal mount to the frame of the car has come completely loose making the pedal lean left. There also appears to possibly be another issue with the clutch pedal spring as it no longer returns the pedal to the fully depressed position, and instead defaults to 3 inches depressed or full upright depressed. This failure has not been corrected. It was Apr. 29, 2010 when this frame and members issue happened.

car   Frame And Members problem of Saturn VUE

At 24,000 miles this 2005 Saturn Vue needed the entire brake system replaced. Then when backing up and then putting the car in drive it would not speed up. I had to stop, put it in park, put it in drive again before it would move. This was at 28,300 miles, turns out the transmission went and had to be replaced. Now at 35,533 the drive shaft is rusted and center support is blown out. I asked Saturn what the life expectancy of this vehicle is and received no response. There were no accidents related to these failures because I realized something was wrong and took it in for service immediately. However, this vehicle has had more serious and costly repairs at 35,533 miles than vehicles with over 100,000 miles. Driving it is very stressful as I never know what will happen next. It was Monday, July 26, 2010 when this frame and members issue happened.

car   Frame And Members problem of Saturn VUE

The vehicle involved is a 2004 Saturn Vue. While driving the vehicle, the driver heard a loud "pop" from rear of car. After pulling over the driver saw that the top of the right rear wheel was tipped in. The car was towed to a repair station. It was determined that the right rear lateral link assembly broke. The mounting bolt broke causing the mounting flange to brake off of the frame. This action also caused the frame to bend. It was necessary to replace the frame, links, control arms and shock absorber. Total cost to me was $1,900. 42. Saturn said they were not responsible and would not pay for any expenses. A recall ( campaign #04067001 ) to replace the rear lateral links was performed on this vehicle on 5/21/2005. Apparently, this recall work was not effective. The driver was not speeding, did not hit a pot hole or other object. There was no accident involved, and no one was injured. These are not parts that require periodic maintenance or upkeep. The parts on this car failed. The mechanic at the Chevrolet dealer that performed the work said that all the bolts in that area were rusted and needed replaced. If this failure would have occurred on an interstate road going at a much faster rate of speed, I can't imagine the consequences. Thank you for your help. This issue happened on Sunday, Mar. 28, 2010.

I was driving at 70 miles per hour when the sub frame cracked and pushed the passenger front tire back against the fender cause the front tire to lock up which cause me to wreck. I spoke with Suzuki and gave them my VIN number and was told that part was on recal and to have my car towed in and they would fix that part . Two days later I was called and told that the recall had expired 3 months earlier. I was never notified and was also wondering how a recall on a safety issue could expire. car   Frame And Members problem of Volvo XC90

The car involved is a 2003 Volvo Xc90. Leaving a parking lot and heard loud sound car wouldn't move. Volvo says the following is broken: lower control arm, cv axle, rotor and damaged rim. We had been parked and were attempting to leaving parking lot(. Barely moving) could have been killed if this happened at higher speed. We have constantly spent money on this vehicle and I feel it is unsafe and that when the recalls were made there could have already been a fracture. This car is only driven to work and home on a regular basis. No rough roads. We have not caused any damage. This website does not allow proper selection under Volvo and make to allow selection of the suspension/control arm / rotors / axle / tire rims / ball joint, all of which were damaged in this 4 mph accident. Had this happened at 65 mph I have no doubt me and my family would not have survived. It was Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010 when this frame and members issue occurred.

car   Frame And Members problem of Volvo V70

The vehicle is a 2006 Volvo V70. Just got off work and I was on my way to pick up my children from their respective schools/daycare. There was a nine wheeler moving very slowly in front of me so the car in my rear decided to overtake me to his left and as soon as he did that my driver side door just flung open by itself. The knob on the door was still down(in lock position). I was so terrified because it felt like something disengaged in my car and the whole driver side door just came loose. I was very fortunate to catch it right away or else it could have been fatal cause speed limit was 45mph and folks were going 50 or more mph. Before driving my car that day, I locked all my doors from the inside so I was very baffled that a door can open itself( with the knob in a lock position) . I feel like the force of the car that overtook me did something to disengage my driver side door. I took the car to the dealership and they said there were no error codes coming out from the driver side door. But I am still not satisfied! what if my kids were inside the car and there door flung open? I called the customer care consultant for the maker of my car but the lady I spoke with was so rude beyond belief. Please help!!! I have dealt with a lot of cars and I have never experienced something like that in my whole like. There is always something about cars; whatever happens to a car while driving it everyday does not always show up once it gets to the dealership. Hopefully my ordeal will not be in vain! when this occurred my driver side glass was rolled down a little bit. This problem occurred on Mon., Mar. 8, 2010.

car   Frame And Members problem of Audi A4

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was WAUAT48H23_. I bought a 2003 Audi A4 convertible in November 2008 and since then the defective convertible top has resulted in the rear glass window to be nearly completely loose. This is a major hazard and represents a danger since the window could fall out and hurt other people. Audi of santa monica said they can't/won't fix it and referred me to an upholstery shop who said they have seen this problem before and can't fix it (despite Audi recommending them for fixing this). A detailed check of numerous online discussion boards (in the u. S. And germany) shows that this is an extremely coming problem for 2003 Audi convertibles that Audi simply refuses to acknowledge. 2003 was the first year that karmann manufacture the roof and, interestingly, harmann in germany seems to accept some responsibility and has fixed this problem for some people, charging only for labor. I strongly recommend that NHTSA look into this faulty manufacturing issue and force Audi to accept responsibility for it. The failure date was Monday, Aug. 10, 2009.
