The car involved was a 2014 Honda Ridgeline. After arriving home from the dealer with this brand new vehicle, my wife on the passenger side could not open the door even though I pressed unlock switch on the driver side. I shut the car off and pressed the unlock button on the key and also tried to pull up the lock manually but I couldn't get it to unlock. After several attempts it finally worked and she was able to get out. The following morning it started working okay but then today the door lock failed again and could not open the door both from inside or outside. When unlock switch is pressed, the doorlock clicks and comes up partially but then it goes down to lock position. The passenger had to come out on the driver side. I figure this malfunction could be a serious safety issue if the vehicle is involved in an accident and passenger is in immediate need of evacauation. This issue happened on Mar. 30, 2014.

The vehicle is a 2003 Infiniti Fx35. Power door lock actuators operate intermittently. There has been several instances having the rear child door lock engaged and we could not open the rear doors from the outside because the actuators failed. Children had to exit out the front by climbing over the front seats. While at a parking garage a large vehicle parked close to the passenger side of our car and could not open doors to re-enter. Again, intermittent operation of power door lock actuators , both front and rear driver side door locks failed. We had to enter the vehicle through the rear tailgate/hatch. Took vehicle in for service and lock were operating at that time and manufacturer recommended replacing the door lock actuators. Still to this day the locks operate intermittently, and now have 115,000 miles. This power door locks not working issue occurred July 8, 2011.

The car was a 2005 Nissan Murano. Original owner of Murano, purchased new in 2005. The door locks fail to lock and un-lock. This has occured at vairous times when using any means available to lock and un-lock the doors: the key fob, interior driver side and passenger side locks button on door, and manual manipilation of the interior door lock(s). The issue is experienced with all 4 door locks and occassionally the rear hatch (not opened as often, so it may occure more frequently, just not aware of it). The condition worsens in the warm weather (live in FL). Have at times been unable to get in or out of my vehicle until all of the above means tried repeatedly until one works. Have found that I can only get in my car during warm weather if I use the fob to roll the front windows down and then reach in the vehicle and manually unlock the car door. The vehicle was a 2008 Audi A6. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Audi A6 is WAUDH74F08_. Multiple issues on this car that all came on about the same time. The amb/parking brake module/esp warning lit up, and a few days later the car was not shifting into gear on startup, and when it did shift into gear it shifted irratically and went into neutral on occasion. The transmission control module, abs sensors both went bad on the car and the car was unable to shift into gear. The car sat at Audi len stoler in owings mills, MD for 2 weeks for problem to be diagnosed. They said it was the transmission control module and the abs sensor that was bad. They replaced the abs sensor in the hopes that it would resolve the transmission problem! it did not. The bill for the abs, and a failed driver door lock switch replacement was almost $1400! the transmission control module is a small black box that has the circuitry that controls the transmission. The part alone costs $2600 and with labor it costs almost $4000 - quote from dealer. A 2008 wit 70k and a tcm fails? according to Audi forums, this is a prevalent issue. Audi needs to do the right thing and recall these cars and get this serious issue fixed. It is a design/quality control flaw. The tcm issue also causes the car to not shift right, or go into neutral while car is being driven. Recall these cars before lifes are lost (if they have not already been lost). These are significant safety issues and is happening with newer cars. My car has been dealer maintained since new and I am a meticulous owner that does not abuse the car. These are premature failures that should not be occurring at this age and mileage. The failure date was Jan. 3, 2013.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2007 BMW 328xi. The automatic door locking function in my car has gone out twice in the last 8 months. The buttons inside the car and on the key fob did not open or lock the doors. The safety issue is that when this occurred, there was no way to open any of the doors from the inside of the car. The driver's side door is the only one that has a physical key slot. The car can only be unlocked from the outside when the automatic door locks fail. A person cannot open the doors using any of the handles, including the driver's side door handle when the locks fail. There is no way to exit the car from the inside when this fails. I had to pull a back seat passenger out the window to remove him from the car when the automatic locks failed the second time. Both times I was able to fix the problem by replacing first one, then two fuses in the box. BMW service departments do not consider this an emergency, so I had to do the repairs myself. I did not feel safe at all being unable to open any of the doors, and having to drive with the driver's side door unlocked. It is not easy to replace a fuse when the box is in the back of the glove box on the far side when it is impossible to open the passenger door. BMW said there may be something in the car that is causing this to fail for me and has quoted almost $200 for an assessment. This issue is a major safety problem. One can easily be stuck in the car as my passenger was with no way to get out besides the window. This car is not large enough to easily jump over consoles or seats. I called BMW and said this has to be a safety recall since you cannot exit the car when the system fails. There was no promise to make any changes to the cars or to assist me in any way. This issue happened on Feb. 19, 2014.

The vehicle involved was a 2008 Buick Enclave. The VIN of this Enclave is 5GAER23788_. A water leak caused by a backup in the drain tubes of my wife's 2008 Enclave evidently caused an apparent computer system incident whereby I was locked in the vehicle and could not get out. The key was stuck in ignition (and could not be removed) and manual door locks would not unlock vehicle because there was some kind of safety interlock. Evidently there was a short in the electrical system which disabled all methods of exiting or starting vehicle. For some reason the onstar system worked, but onstar had no clue as to how to assist or override the interlock feature. It was winter time, and my wife and our dog were also stranded in very cold weather outside the vehicle. Luckily we were assisted by a stranger that used his jumper cables to get the car started. I am concerned that this could happen if the car were submerged or the computer system was somehow compromised it could cause a similar problem. Filed problem with Buick customer relationship via email but all they wanted to do was to replace the battery. As of this date (4/4/14) we still have the original battery, but they deny any knowledge of the problem. I have emails from Buick and their service request number if you would like to verify my claim. I only recently became aware that I could file a complaint with NHTSA in this manner. This problem occurred on Tue., Dec. 18, 2012.
