Battery Dead problem is a common vehicle problem that happens to most car brands and models. The following is a sample list of Battery Dead problems reported in most popular vehicles.

car   Battery Dead problem of Chevrolet Trailblazer

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 1GNDS13S26_. Wiper engages with washer fluid spraying at any time . When first start wipers come on with fluid spraying no intermitent settings wiper stops and starts at all times. Fuel gauge stop working with full tank. Now it does not work. Door lock on driver side not functioning. Locks would start when vehicle sitting in driveway not running. Removed fuse, as it caused battery failure. This problem occurred on 02/01/14.

car   Battery Dead problem of Chevrolet Trailblazer

The vehicle having this issue was a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. This was actually the second or third incident where the key got stuck in the ignition, blazer was in park the lights remained on so did the radio anything that is typically on during aux, but this was the beginning of a long problem that lead to me trading off. . The key gets stuck you can not remove it caused the battery to go bad, it would begin to happen often the service engine soon light would come on, the transmission would not shift above 3rd gear, also shortly after the purchase in sept of 2011 the speedometer stopped working. The blazer died 3 times gauges on dash would periodicly stop working. My service 4 wheel would come on randomly the key issue was the biggest problem but it was only a matter of time before other things went wrong. When the key would get stuck in the igintion as stated the transmission would not shift properly in the beginning the transmission would act out once you took it out of park it was noticeable but as the problem became worse it started happening driving down the highway I noticed once that I have successfully made it through 1-2-3 but never got out of 3. I should state that when the key was stuck I would have to manually shift through the first and second then put it into drive otherwise the car had no power because it would be stuck in the higher gear. Tried to contact the dealership as there was a recall on the dash for the 2003 model and they told us it wasnt a safety problem I do not understand how random loss of power and random car dying is not a safety issue, I have been watching the list of gm recalls and I have not seen much about the Trailblazers, and it bothers me that I am sure there are other issues like the ones that I had. On another note transmission related my neighbors just had to get rid of their Trailblazer 2006 for transmission problems. This problem occurred on May. 15, 2012.

car   Battery Dead problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The car involved is a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Chrysler town and country is 2A8HR54P28_. The key will not remove from the ignition. Chrysler has replaced my key twice thinking that was the solution. It was not. Currently the only way to get the key out of my ignition is to - leave my keys in my car until my battery dies or unhook my battery to remove the key. I've been told by a Chrysler dealership that this is something Chrysler is 'looking into' as a potential recall and that only Chrysler dealerships are allowed to fix this. So I am not allowed to have anyone else fix it but them (for top dollar). My options are pay upfront for Chrysler to fix and it hope to be reimbursed if the recall goes through. It was 09/02/13 when this battery dead issue occurred.

car   Battery Dead problem of Dodge Durango

The vehicle involved was a 2005 Dodge Durango. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1D4HB58D15_. I wanted to share with you my recent experience at my local Dodge dealer, spartanburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep first, I will never go to spartanburg Dodge again, for anything. They tried to charge me to correct a NHTSA recall (instrument cluster fire hazard), which they did complete. My cluster still tells me there are problems with 2 systems my vehicle does not have installed. Regarding the 2nd recall I had them address (fuel tank replacement). I brought me vehicle in with nearly a half tank of gas, when I picked it up it had approximately 1/2 gal. My on board computer told me I had 0 miles to empty. I was told they had no way to transfer the fuel from the old tank to the new, which is bs. They have to get the fuel out of the tank as it is against the law to dispose of the fuel, I suspect someone got a free fill up. In addition, I had the dealer had my vehicle for 4 days and still have not resolved the recall. When I came to pick my vehicle up the second time, they tried to charge me over $100 dollars for a "diagnostic fee" for rechecking the recall on the cluster, but I later found out they didn't do anything at all to the cluster the second time. When I told them I would not pay for the recall to be fixed they threatened to keep my vehicle, upon calling the sheriff's office to retrieve my property they changed their mind. They brought me the keys to my vehicle and pointed me in the direction of it. When I found it, the battery was dead from a light left on, no one came to help me get the vehicle started. I had to call my wife to come and give me a jump start. I would like to have this instrument cluster replaced as it should have been the first time per the recall. Thank you jamie allen. This problem occurred on February 15, 2014.

car   Battery Dead problem of Dodge Durango

2011 Dodge Durango. . . Trouble starting. We purchased it new in March of 2011. We have been having this problem since June 2013. It takes 8-15 tries to get the car started. It keeps getting worse. My car also has a "fan sound" after it is turned off. It runs down the battery and battery dies everyday. It was 06/01/13 when this battery dead issue happened.

car   Battery Dead problem of Ford Edge

The car involved is a 2011 Ford Edge. On the driver's door only, the door ajar notification remains on even after the door is securely shut. The door will not lock with that notification on and the interior lights do not want to go out either. Also, when the car is off and the doors are locked, this, what seems like an electrical shortage, causes the auxiliary lights come on and off and it causes the battery to die over time. This has been the case since the car was purchased in 2012. It was Mon., May. 5, 2014 when this battery dead issue happened.

car   Battery Dead problem of Ford F-150

The vehicle is a 2011 Ford F-150. I was driving on the highway, in the right lane, doing about 60 mph. For some unknown reason, the truck simply shut off and lost all power. I coasted to the shoulder and waited a minute or so to calm down and decide what to do. I then tried to restart the truck, and it started right up. I nervously drove the rest of the 25 miles or so to my home without incident. The truck also seemed to run fine for the next couple of days until I could get it into the dealership to have it looked at. The dealer determined that the battery was bad (only 2+ years old) and replaced it under warranty. It seems odd to me that the battery was the problem, since the truck restarted easily and ran well for the next few days. However, the new battery does seem to have cured the problem as it hasn't repeated the traveling shut down. I am cautious and nervous now about driving over it for fear it might shut off again. It is actually similar to what the gm cobalt owners experienced, although this does not appear to be ignition related. I have written to Ford to see if they would confirm what the dealer told me - that a weak battery could cause a vehicle to quit while running. I am hoping that by documenting this incident, I will find out if other owners of newer f150s have had similar full speed shut downs. I'm trying to decide whether to keep the truck or sell it because I still don't trust it. The failure date was February 7, 2009.

car   Battery Dead problem of GMC Acadia

The vehicle is a 2009 GMC Acadia. The VIN of the problem Acadia is 1GKER23D39_. Various gm vehicles have a known defect that allows water from the sun roof drain to enter the passenger compartment and more importantly allows water to enter the passenger compartment fuse block. This defect is covered under service bulletin #08-08-57-003c. This vehicle has had numerous electrical system issues that only occur during heavy rains and the dealer has been unable to recreate the problem after things have dried out so to speak. Most recently after a heavy rain, the battery was dead and when replaced with a new battery, the engine would not shut off even after the key was removed. This is a serious safety concern that can result in injury or death. The only way to shut off the engine is to remove the ecm fuse from the under hood fuse block. Not being able to shut the engine off via the key can have serious life consequences in the event of an emergency. This is a wide spread issue that seems to get worse over time and ends up with not being able to shut the engine off. The gm models affected by the service bulletin as follows: 2008-2012 Buick enclave 2007-2012 GMC Acadia 2007-2010 Saturn outlook. This battery dead issue occurred Sunday, January 12, 2014.

car   Battery Dead problem of Acura TL

The vehicle involved is a 2007 Acura Tl. After being parked for about 2 weeks the battery started fine. I drove 10 miles, turned off the car for 1 hour, tried to start the car again and the engine would not turn over. The inside lights were on but the headlights were dim. After trying to start the car several times both the inside lights and the headlights were completely out. I had to call aaa for a jump because the battery was dead. I thought this was odd but then I remembered a friend of mines has a 2008 Tl and he has to jump his battery weekly. So I did an internet search and learned that thousands of Acura owners are having the same problem and most attribute the problem to the hands free link systems (hfl). So I called Acura and they confirmed that the cause is most likely due to hands free link system. Why hasn't this been a recall? is Acura waiting for some to die first? this is safety issue and a racket! the dealer charges nearly $200 to diagnose the problem and several hundred more dollars to fix it. A recall is warranted!!!. This battery dead issue occurred Tuesday, Apr. 29, 2014.

car   Battery Dead problem of Acura MDX

The car was a 2009 Acura Mdx. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is 2HNYD286X9_. Approximately 3 months ago I went to start the medic and it would not start. No lights or any other accessories were left on. The car was jumped and started. Being the car was 4 years old and I had reviews of battery problems in the medic, I had the battery replaced. About two weeks later it would not start again. It was jumped again and taken to an auto repair shop to be tested. The repair shop said the battery was weak, so it was replaced again. It's been about 2 months now and today when I went to start it, the battery was dead again. Three batteries do not go bad that quickly, there is a problem with the electrical system in this vehicle. I have noticed other complaints with this same issue on this web site. It was November 26, 2013 when this battery dead issue occurred.

car   Battery Dead problem of Honda Accord

The vehicle involved is a 2005 Honda Accord. Car sat for 3 weeks in the winter of 2013. I was on maternity leave. I left for my first day of work and my battery was dead. I replaced the battery. All of a sudden it was a domino effect. Radio doesn't work. It circles through fm1 fm2 and am about 3 times before it rests on am. None of my windows roll down except my drivers side. Ive checked all fuses. . . . Ive replaced the master window switch and nothing. . . So many people are having the same issue but no one says how to fix it or why it hasn't been issued as a recall. Also my disk changer happened to eat my cd and wont cycle through aux or cd at all. Ive taken this car to the dealership. . They told me to replace the master switch and I did. . . Which was very expensive and it did nothing but cost me more money because now my auto key locks wont respond. Im pissed. The failure date was Jan. 28, 2013.

car   Battery Dead problem of Honda CR-V

The vehicle involved was a 2011 Honda Cr-v. Within the last month, my 2011 crv has had a recurring issue with the door lock. When I hit the unlock button, the driver's door remains locked and will only turn manually. Likewise, it will only lock manually. The other day I couldn't open my trunk because of the locking issue. Because of the unlocking, the sensors affected my dome light and my battery died after 3 years. I have read that this is a common problem, but no recalls yet. It doesn't make sense. This battery dead issue occurred Saturday, April 12, 2014.

car   Battery Dead problem of Hyundai Tucson

The vehicle is a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. The VIN of this vehicle is KM8JN72D96_. Battery power lost when car parked for two days or more numerous times. Once while briefly parked for 15 minutes after an hour drive, I parked to make the call in a remote area using car phone plugged into cigarette lighter. No cell service there and had to walk to a local ranch for help and a jump. Battery required replacement frequently. Dealer tested on two occasions and they could not resolve, replaced battery twice. Ive replaced batteries numerous other times at least every two years. Last visit by aaa tested 1 amp high resistance short in electrical system but good relatively new battery. I now charge the battery about three times a year with a battery charger, taking approximately 8 hours of charge when the battery is dead at home. I do not drive very far out of fear that I'll be stranded. I've used up my 3 aloted aaa visits on this problem. It was Tuesday, May. 26, 2009 when this battery dead issue occurred.

car   Battery Dead problem of Hyundai Sonata

The car involved was a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The VIN of this Sonata is 5NPEC4AC0E_. Car battery goes dead, unable to start car, could happen at any time. This has happened 3 times. The dealer has no idea why. Even Hyundai corp does not have any answers. The car has been back to the dealer for days at a time with no resolution. I feel this is a safety concern because the car can leave you stranded, it is so unreliable. This is a 2014 Sonata. I see many problems on the internet for this problem with Hyundai cars. It appears to be associated with cars with "push to start". This issue happened on Friday, January 3, 2014.

car   Battery Dead problem of Infiniti G35

The vehicle involved is a 2003 Infiniti G35. Cd player stopped working, unable to retrieve cd's, error message. Later radio and a/c controls went out. Check engine soon light came on and speedometer not working. Called Infiniti in sarasota, was told to bring car in, I did. Happened again within a few months, was told by Infiniti they could not find anything wrong, they reset sensor. A few months later, radio went out again, a/c at 60 degrees, cannot lower temperature, cannot turn on/off from dashboard; radio works from the steering wheel only. Problem caused battery to go dead, called aaa, was told something draining battery; told of electrical problems, advised electrical problem maybe the reason. Once battery purchased, advised again battery may go out due to electrical problem draining battery. Went online, found numerous complaints. Called Infiniti again, told my VIN # may not be listed. Cost approximately $1,200. 00 or more to fix this problem. Called Infiniti/Nissan corporate office, told my VIN number not on recall list. Informed them of problem, purchase of new battery due to electrical problem, and what may happen again regarding new battery. Rep advised nothing they can do. Told I can pay, and if a recall later with my VIN number , I can be reimbursed with proof of repair with Infiniti. As of this writing, I am still unable to turn on/off defrost, heater, a/c, cd player, cassette player, or radio; none of the controls on dashboard are operable. This is dangerous in so many ways in terms of road safety; defrost not working (unable to defrost windows for vision while driving); draining battery; hazardous due temperature controls that can cause a person to freeze while in my car, and a financial hardship. I pray an investigation initiated due to electrical problems by manufacturer, not caused by the consumer; that the resolution is fair and just for all, and not just by selected VIN numbers only. This battery dead problem happened on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.

car   Battery Dead problem of Jeep Wrangler

The vehicle involved is a 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 1C4BJWEG6D_. At the time I first tried out the vehicle & prior to purchase the battery was dead & it had to be "jump" started. I requested that a new battery be installed prior to delivery. I took delivery & about a week later went on vacation, did not take Jeep. It was not driven for about 3 weeks. When I tried to start it the Jeep would not start, as if the battery was dead. I jumped it & continued to drive it, every day for several weeks. After a few weeks, I let the vehicle sit for a day without starting and when I tried it would not start. 8/19/13 took Jeep to the dealer to get problem with electrical system fixed. They tightened the negative battery terminal & reprogrammed one of the computers. 9/2/13 Jeep would not start, had to jump it. Did not run it or try to start it yesterday. 9/30/13 Jeep would not start & when I jumped it the uconnect system would not work. . Took it to dealer. They think the radio is drawing current from battery. They replaced radio. 10/21/13. Jeep would not start after setting two days. Took it back to jasper Jeep. They are going to try putting a new battery in it under the assumption that the problem may be a battery post. Service manager checked the records and could not find where a new battery had been installed prior to purchase. 12/30/13 9:15am tried to start Jeep, it would not start. Got clicking sound like low battery, interior dash lights were on. There was a new dash warning light on, it is a red lighting bolt. 9:38am. Started it & after it was connected to "start car" for a minute it started. Let it run for a couple minutes shut it off & it started ok. Red lighting bolt not on. Found service bulletin issued by Chrysler, sept 2013. Bulletin number: sb-08-067-NHTSA item number - 10053694 10:30 am called about the service bulletin. The serv. Mgr. Will review & call me back. This battery dead problem happened on Wednesday, May 15, 2013.

car   Battery Dead problem of Kia Motor Spectra

The vehicle involved is a 2005 Kia Motor Spectra. One blinker light would flash faster then the other. The radio would randomly scan stations continuously. Battery would die. 9/28/2013 when vehicle was started, all the lights in the vehicle began flashing/blinking and the car made a buzzing sound. When key was removed the flashing and buzzing continued for a minute longer. After a jump start the car started, but the blinker lever would no longer go down to turn on left blinker. Later that day aaa tested the battery which was no longer holding a charge and had to be replaced. Within the first year of ownership: front spoiler fell off while driving on the highway and replaced by purchasing dealer at no charge. Electrical on windows was intermittent, kia dealer in ontario (that is no longer in service) refused to do repairs, which were under warranty, stating they could only do oil changes on the weekends and refused to provide a rental car for the repair to be done during the week. 5/5/2014: requested a warranty report for vehicle from kia corporate and they stated they do no have record of that information. This particular vehicle was used by kia for testing purposes on multiple occasions. It was Sep. 18, 2013 when this battery dead issue happened.

car   Battery Dead problem of Kia Motor Sedona

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Kia Motor Sedona. Vehicle identification number (VIN): KNDMB23336_. After parking vehicle, went to exit and could not remove ignition key. Key turned off vehicle but would only go as far accs, which means while motor was not running, power was still on. Made sure dash indicator was in park, yet could not remove key. Spoke to a locksmith and added lube to around ignition key without any results. Left inside semi-heated garage overnight in case of frozen components without results. While dash indicator seemed to show proper gear selections, while in park, key could not removed, steering wheel would not lock, and vehicle could be moved forward and backward by manual pushing, in the meantime it was using up the battery. Kia dealership determined "shifter assembly failure", and after $600+ and 6 days for the special ordered part, vehicle was returned, but the failed part was returned to the supplier for a core charge. So if vehicle was parked in a parking lot and ignition key cannot be removed the car could be stolen, if parked on an incline car could roll away because it's truly not in park, and or your battery is dead. There was prior warning of any failure and owned since new. This battery dead problem happened on 01/02/14.

car   Battery Dead problem of Mercedes Benz ML320

The vehicle was a 2000 Mercedes Benz Ml320. The battery failed and required replacement. A "group 49" battery is specified by the battery manufacturer's catalog. A group 49 battery was purchased, but did not fit. Research indicates that the subject battery was actually a group 93 battery, which is approximately 1/2 inch shorter. Research also indicates that several manufacturers are no longer making group 49 batteries but are either recommending group 93 batteries as the replacement or, as I found, applying group 49 labels to the group 93 battery. In my car installing a group 93 battery is unsafe, for two reasons. First, the battery hold-down strap is a non-adjustable, snap-fit type installation that will not function with the lower battery height. Second, the positive battery terminal must connect to two heavy cables (main power and accessory power cables) which must be forced down to install on the repositioned (lowered) positive battery post. Forcing the cables down causes them to ride hard on nearby installations and may cause failure of the insulation which could lead to a shock hazard or fire. The initial information on the transition from group 49 to group 93 batteries came from the aaa representative who attempted to assist me with the failed battery. The mis-labeled battery was purchased at o'reilly auto parts on beach boulevard in westminster, California. This problem occurred on Apr. 2, 2012.

car   Battery Dead problem of Mercedes Benz C320

The vehicle was a 2002 Mercedes Benz C320. I have a 2002 mercedes C320. My battery is dead after seating overnight. Took the car to the austin mb dealership to diagnose the problem. I was told that the power seat motor is draining my battery. Both seats. Come to find out that many other people have experienced the same problem. I called mercedes USA and they said that since the car is out of warranty, there is not much they can do. That is bull!! obviously since so many people with this car model have the same problem, it has to be a manufacturer fault. I was wondering how many people need to experience this problem before mercedes will admit that they have a bad component on this model. I figured,if enough people call and tell mb that they have this same problem, they will realize that this is a defective part and they will issue a recall and pay for necessary repairs. Please call mercedes USA and report this problem. 1-800-for-mercedes (1-800-367-6372) or 201-476-6200. The failure date was 04/02/12.

car   Battery Dead problem of Nissan Altima

The vehicle was a 2009 Nissan Altima. Three months after installation of a new (dealer provided) battery, the positive terminal and cable had to be replaced due to heavy corrosion. The original car battery failed because of heavy corrosion around the positive terminal as well. The dealer service department said that the harness and cable should have been replaced at the time of battery replacement and do not know why this wasn't recommended. They stated that these batteries routinely vent excess gas that should condense into the battery compartment. They did not address the issue that heavy corrosion re-accumulated in a very short period of time (shorter than recommended maintenance intervals for the car). Further, this is not the first time I have heard of an Altima battery issue as my sister had to replace her battery twice as well. I would like the NHTSA to investigate if this is a repetitive issue with these batteries as this could lead to a safety problem if the car were to spontaneously shut down during driving due to battery malfunction. This battery dead problem happened on 03/31/14.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2009 Nissan Altima. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 1N4AL21E89_. When I got into my car this morning, the steering column was locked up and breaks were hard to push. After trying a few times to start the vehicle, I noticed that the auto-theft must be on. I tried to put the fob in the manual ignition, but the fob got stuck and would not release. After several tries, the fob finally came out. The car still does not start and the auto-theft is still on. The battery is not bad because the car beeps when the door is open and the lights work. I am going to have to tow the vehicle in to get it repaired. There should be a recall on this problem. car   Battery Dead problem of Suzuki Forenza

The vehicle having this issue was a 2007 Suzuki Forenza. After my daytime running lights stayed on all night, my battery died and I had to have the engine jumped. I went along with my day, parked my car at the bus lot and went to work. After returning to the car, I smelled smoke. When I tried to pop my hood, I noticed the interior paneling under my steering wheel was black and melted. The hood would not pop open because the release lever was also melted. There was smoke damage on my windshield near the air/defrost vents and on anything sitting in my car. Lucky for me, I was not in the car when the fire occured and it was in a parking lot where no one was around to get injured. After having the transmission sensor replaced on the car 4 times before they replaced the entire transmission, I've realized there were electrical problems with this car long before the fire occurred. Many others have complained about a fire in this exactly make/model/year car. Suzuki should be ashamed for making such terrible cars and filing for bankruptcy right before the problem occurs so there is nothing to be done/no accountability. This battery dead issue occurred 08/12/13.

car   Battery Dead problem of Buick Enclave

The car is a 2008 Buick Enclave. As we were driving around a dark curve on a well traveled country road, the car quit pulling, the battery died, and the car would not shift. We were unable to move the car and were in the dark. There were two adults and two children in the car at the time. We had to call a wrecker to pick up the car and a deputy sheriff to direct traffic and keep from being hit by oncoming traffic. Apparently, the shifter broke and the transmission died. Both had to be replaced. I found out later that the transmission is the #1 complaint on this particular car. Why has a recall not been done? do lives have to be lost before something is done???. The failure date was Dec. 23, 2013.

car   Battery Dead problem of Cadillac XLR

The car is a 2004 Cadillac Xlr. The VIN of the car is 1G6YV34A14_. Parked in a parking lot & placed it in park. Upon returning I started the car & placed it in drive. I took foot off brake & car moved rearward. Put car in neutral & car moved rearward. I tried all gears including park & car moved rearward, turned car off. Car would not restart because it was not in park. Because car was not in park all electrical accessories would not turn off & battery went dead, doors or windows would not open because all are operated electrically. Fortunately the battery died on route to dealership on tow truck. The shift cable was found to be broke. I looked on the web site Xlr net & this is not an uncommon problem and appears in several forums. If there had been a car behind me I certainly would have hit it. One guy on the forum parked his car put in park & when he turned back the car was rolling down a hill. Since there was little change in Xlr design over the years I would suspect all model years through 2009 are affected. A very unsafe condition! this should not have occurred on a low mileage well maintained vehicle. It was Monday, December 30, 2013 when this battery dead issue occurred.

car   Battery Dead problem of Jaguar S-type

The car is a 2001 Jaguar S-type. When I bought the car a week later it blew hot air, I was told it only needed freon. I found out later that there was a leak and it is $1200. A week after that the car would not start the dealer picked the car up and said that the battery was dead because I left the radio on, it has happened over 30 times, not true there is something wrong. I have replaced tires at least six times. Tires completely separate. I was driving and car slowed down on freeway and I was almost hit, I pulled over and it stopped and did it again and I had to push the traction control button, almost cost me my life! it now happens when I hit a bump. When I turn the car makes a extremely loud noise, (embarrassing) I was told it is a ball joint and can catch on fire. Engine light has always been on and is now blinking and the car shakes and hesitates. I had to pay to get the brakes fixed 2 months after purchasing. Radio turns on for no reason and runs battery down. I was told I have two leaks in my shocks and it is $1800 each. When I back up and turn the steering wheel vibrates. I can't even use the cigarette lighter to charge my cell because it does not work and has been replaced twice. The remote just stop working and I was charged $100 to reconfigure. The brakes act funny, can't even explain it. This car is unreal, a complete piece of junk. I can't even remember half the stuff I have endured and the money I have spent. This battery dead issue occurred Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.
