car   Battery problem of Chrysler Pt Cruiser

The vehicle is a 2002 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. The problem I am having started about 2 months ago, my battery was suddenly drained and I had no idea why. I had to buy a new battery for about $125. When my fog light indicator began to flicker on and off on its own. I'd just press the end of turn signal arm inward towards the steering column and the indicator light went off. Gradually, the pressing process did not work anymore and I discovered that shutting off the car with the left hand turn signal pressed down, at least temporarily solved the problem (so I could do some research on its solution). Not knowing what to do, I brought it into the dealer and for $65 they diagnosed it at a need to replace the multifunction switch which they said required the pulling of steering wheel and over $600 more to fix. I opted out on that, since car has 112,000 miles on it. Then, with a week of very hot 90 degree temperatures, , I found that brand new battery totally drained and began reading the internet posts of the possibility of pulling the fuse. Of course being a USA car, the manual didn't identify the fuse for the fog lamps in the "under the hood" fuse box. It seems that the heat allows the fog lamps to still turn on when the left hand signal arm is pressed downwards. Going further, I found that fuse #8 in the interior dashboard fuse box could be pulled and should solve the problem without further repair. I find it very interesting that Chrysler does not even show you a sketch of the interior fuse box in their owners manual. This approach does mean that the manufacturer of the vehicle is not allowing the buyer (me) to fully enjoy all the features of the vehicle! seems to me that Chrysler corporation has not recalled the defective cars on purpose and needs to have a debacle like Toyota had before they will do the right thing and fix a bad design. . This problem occurred on Friday, August 10, 2012.

car   Battery problem of Ford Taurus

I own a 2006 Ford Taurus sel 12v, I was driving when all of the sudden, all of the lights on the dashboard (like abs, brake light,) lighted up like a christmas tree and then I lost all power to the engine. I hit the gas pedal several times with no response but in about 5-8 seconds later, the car started up by itself with an abrupt and violent jerk forward. It was almost as if I turned the key in the ignition to the off position and then quickly back on . . While I was sitting at a red light, I noticed a whole lot of weird stuff going on. The headlights were dimming in and out, the light on the radio (that green light that lights up the controls) was also dimming in and out, and the odometer needle was jumping up and down between 0mph and 5mph, the radio would make a noise like it was shorting out this was due to car about to shut off suddenly, the car shut off with all the dashboard lights lighting up again and then quickly shut off. I replaced the battery, cleaned all batteries terminal and all grounds in car chassis any suggestions, thanks,. This problem occurred on Jul. 3, 2012.

car   Battery problem of Acura TL

The vehicle was a 2005 Acura Tl. Vehicle identification number (VIN): 19UUA66255_. The hands free link (hfl) modules have been failing resulting in a 200ma current drain. This results in the module shorting out and may subsequently result in a fire. I discovered this as a result of the battery draining to 5 volts overnight as well as a much high than normal temperature of the plastic cover under the hfl module. I removed the module according to Acura service bulletin 05-020 dated September 23, 2005. It was Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2012 when this battery issue happened.

car   Battery problem of Honda Civic Hybrid

The vehicle involved was a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid. On sept 15, '12, I was taking my son and his friend over to his coach's house for a football party. I attempted to drive up the coach's driveway but at approximately the halfway point, my Honda Civic Hybrid stopped moving forward although the accelerator was pushed to the floor. I had the two nine year old kids exit the vehicle but it still did not move forward. I slowly backed down the driveway and attempted to accelerate up the driveway again, this time with a running start. Again, my Honda Civic Hybrid did not make it up the driveway. I estimate the driveway to be at a 30% angle, not steep but definitely not flat. Again I slowly backed down the driveway after having the cars behind me move out of my way. I parked at the bottom of the driveway and walked up the hill, not something you expect to do when you spend a lot of money for a vehicle. On October 3, 2012, I had a certified Honda dealership examine the car as I susected the ima battery was faulty. The dealer stated I did need a new 12 volt battery and I had the battery replaced. The dealer stated that while the ima battery is not giving out full power it is at an acceptable level. The dealer stated that Honda refuses to replace any ima battery unless it completely fails and they have seen several Civic Hybrids with the same problem. My concern is the acceleration and loss of power becomes a major safety issue on the highways and hills. I have three young kids and do not feel safe with them in the car. I have all service documentation and am willing to let investigators examine and drive my vehicle. Also, I can provide the address of the driveway, the vehicle was unable to make it up. Please look into this issue as this loss of power creates a safety issue for my family. It was Sep. 15, 2012 when this battery issue happened.

car   Battery problem of Honda Pilot

The vehicle involved was a 2005 Honda Pilot. The first incident occurred while traveling at highway speeds. The car violently jerked forward 3 times and came to a complete sudden stop on the interstate. Luckily no one was following too close or we would have been rear ended. My foot was on the accelerator maintaining a steady speed, and it was like I stomped on the break rapidly three times and then the car came to a complete stop. We took the car to the Honda dealership and they could not repeat the issue but said that the battery wasn't putting out the proper amount of amps and was likely resulting in the computer sending faulty messages. They replaced the battery. The car seemed to be fixed when the battery was replaced, but then the issue recurred about two months later at the end of February 2012. While accelerating at about 30 mph, the car violently came to a sudden stop in the middle of the road. Again, we were lucky to not be not rear ended. We took the car to another auto shop, but they weren't able to duplicate the issue. They assessed the computer and noted a faulty egr valve and replaced it. The car drove fine for two weeks after that, then the issue recurred for a third time, again at about 30 mph. The same thing occurred; the car came to a sudden stop in the middle of the road after the sensation of stomping on the breaks several times. The car is in the shop again, and they can't recreate the problem. Their assessment is leading them to believe there is a faulty abs switch or brake booster. After several failed repair attempts, we aren't confident that anyone knows what the problem is. However, if you read the forums online, this is a problem that has been reported by dozens of people with my year, make/model and at the approximate mileage as my car. If we continue driving the car, we are scared we may injure ourselves or others. This problem occurred on Dec. 18, 2011.

car   Battery problem of Hyundai Sonata

The vehicle having this issue was a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. There was crash involved with this Hyundai Sonata. The vehicle looses power while driving on the road and all the electronics shut down. I lost power steering and power brakes and could not stop the vehicle. The vehicle has an electrical problem that the service technicians can not see on the computer or figure out. First the service tech said it was a fuse not plugged in all the way then they say it was the battery. . I fear for my life in this car and will never drive it again. If I were in a cross walk I would have hit a pedestrian or I could have hit another vehicle. Luckily I was not on a high speed road or going through a toll booth or there would have been serious injuries. I cannot believe that the manufacturer feels I should drive this car. They told me it was ok before and I ended up having an accident. This car has an electronic defect. They do not put any value on lives. This problem occurred on Oct. 5, 2012.

car   Battery problem of Jeep Wrangler

The VIN of this vehicle was 1J8GA39108_. My 2008 Jeep Wrangler unlimited began to have an electrical malfunction with 50,441 miles on it. The alarm sounded, wipers and fluid went crazy, lights flashing, power steering failed, and the car would not stop running even with the key removed. I had to disconnect the battery and tow it to dealership. After $130 they said it was a key fob battery. I reluctantly drove away certain that the issue was not a key fob issue. Sure enough, the next day the same thing happed while sitting in the parking lot at work. I disconnected the battery and about an hour later reconnected and it started. I promptly drove to a more reliable dealership, who diagnosed the tipm module. $607 bucks later it is repaired. Chrysler of course has done nothing but deny any issue with tipm modules, when clearly they have a widespread issue with this part (just google search it). This should be a class action case, if Chrysler will not recall. This battery issue occurred Monday, August 20, 2012.

Manufacturer: Land Rover model: Range Rover 4. 0se year: 1999 location: new york city due to a high radio frequency signal in my neighborhood from building/commercial antennas, my vehicle's becm (computer) has been receiving/attracting signals erroneously while parked inside a garage. As a result, the computer is kept active the entire time it is parked thus draining the battery. In addition, the signal has caused both left and right side doors to short and malfunction. Since the vehicle's battery is fully drained, it had to be towed to the local dealership. Both front and right side door latches plus battery had to be replaced. Finally, a switch had to be installed in order to manually turn the computer on and off. Total parts and labor plus towing costs have totaled to approx. $3,000. Finally, another Range Rover in my garage has experienced the same problem and will have to undergo the same type of repairs and incur the same costs. It was January 1, 2006 when this battery issue happened.

The vehicle involved is a 2003 Mazda Tribute. Every time it rains really hard or there's flooding in the streets the car starts showing the battery light like it is going to die on me and as a precaution I try to pull out of the street to any place and while turning the steering wheel the car looses power and the wheels won't turn. Driving no more than 5mph while slowing down from a normal 35mph without warning my engine shut off and I lost power to my steering wheel and brakes. I was able to get the car to off the road after applying all my weight to the brakes and steering wheel. I missed an oncoming car and a tree by an inch. I decided to do some online research and it seems I am not the only one with this problem with a Mazda Tribute 2003. I am very worried becasue it it hurricane season here in FL and the rain is not something I can predict, besides it seems absurd that I would even have to watch the weather to see if I should or not drive the car. This is an accident waiting to happen!! I drive my 2 year old every day and it is not right that Mazda would have cars with this issues out in the street. If feels like by signing a purchase contract on it. I had signed a death with it. Please do something. I havent found that there is a recall for this issue. The failure date was Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

car   Battery problem of Mercedes Benz CL550

The vehicle involved was a 2007 Mercedes Benz Cl550. Car made noise & stopped suddenly in the middle of the road, oil leakage happened before 30,000 milage ,driveway full of oil leakage ,took to the dealer, initially could not find any defect ,after insisting that there is definitely a problem, they called me & said there is some tube needs to be changed ,stopped again in the middle of the road ,stopped again in the middle of the road without any warning sign, stopped again ,mercedes roadside assistance came & changed the batteries ,again stopped in the middle of the road within 3months of changing the battery. I called mercedes customer service on 9/6/12 & made a complaint regarding this matter & also told them that they sold me a lemon car. Every time it was towed to mercedes service center & I paid lots of money every time it got fixed ,almost I paid $ 9227. 25 ,within 55,000 miles since I bought the car as a new in 2007 . car   Battery problem of Mercury Grand Marquis

The vehicle is a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis. My mother-in-law has a 2004 Grand Marquis & last night when she started the car to go home after visiting us, the headlights would not come on at all. . . . Additionally, the interior lights have come on all by themselves intermittently, and consequently, the battery is drained each time it happens. The interior problem may or may not fix itself by starting/shutting off/opening/closing door. All I did was type "2004 Mercury Grand Marquis" in yahoo search & a multitude of similar problems came up in the results: all stating a defective light control module (lcm). I am going to take the one out of her car today & take it apart & inspect it for cracked ("cold solder") solder joints as almost anything with a pc board ( (made in the last 25 years especially) tends to develop cracked solder because they are made cheaply by using as little solder possible to hold the joint together (when new, anyways) . Yet another cheap, modern junk electronic item pumped out in bulk by the thousands that the manufacturer will not support, unless it fails within the warranty period! I cannot believe Ford motor company won't issue a recall for this problem as it is not an isolated problem, according to my research! maybe once someone dies in a car wreck from the lights going out while they're going down a freeway @ 70mph, someone will get a good lawyer and sue the pants off of Ford motor company!! class action lawsuit, anybody?. car   Battery problem of Mitsubishi Raider

Crash happened when the problem occurred. While driving 2007 Mitsubishi Raider on June 3rd, 2010 the vehicle lost all power while driving, resulting in no control of vehicle. The vehicle was serviced on June 1st 2010 and the battery was checked good. When taken to Mitsubishi dealer they said the only thing they could find was a dead battery. $5000 worth of damage was done to vehicle as it hit the center median wall, luckily no one was hurt though. There was no warning before hand that anything was about to happen. We were driving and then the truck just died, the engine quit, lights went out everything went black. We started drifting into the lane next to us almost coming in contact with another vehicle. The steering wheel was turned hard to the left to avoid hitting other vehicles when we went left hard and hit the median. I had my wife and 3 kids in the car and to this day we wonder if the same thing will happen again. I don`t want another family to go through what we went through in fear of someone getting seriously hurt or killed. If the median wall was not there and it was just grass, there would have been a very good chance that the truck would have flipped. As stated earlier the battery was just checked 3 days prior and should not have been bad, even though the vehicle should not have died while driving as a result of a dead battery. The recent Toyota recall is for the same problem that I have encountered. I know they are different companies and manufacturer's but could there be a coincidence between the two. It is an experience to lose all power of a vehicle and hoping to avoid hurting anyone. Thank-you. The failure date was Thursday, June 3, 2010.

car   Battery problem of Nissan Leaf

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is JN1AZ0CP5B_. I am filing a complaint about the main battery in my 2011 Nissan Leaf. According to Nissan, I should have expected about a 20% battery capacity loss after five years of ownership. I have had the car for 14. 5 months. As of 8/29/2012, the battery has lost 3 bars of capacity (approximately 27. 5% capacity loss). This rate of capacity loss is far beyond what Nissan expected and possibly modeled/engineered. Please help insure there will not be any safety issues with the battery as the capacity deteriorates. This battery issue occurred 08/29/12.

On oct 19th 05 we were able to get off the hwy in the nick of time, heavy smoke had begun to pour out from under the hood. The fire was contained but the ignition cassette, the cause of the fire, the wire harness, battery and, spark plugs were destroyed and had to be replaced. At the time of this incidence we were driving in the southern sierras in a seasonal dry forest area. It was fortunate that a we were able to pull off the road in a safe spot. On Aug. 15th, 08. The replacement part failed again and as before the spark plugs, installed several months previously had to be replaced the continued failure of this part in an intrinsic manufacturing defect. Specific VIN numbers of this part has been recalled, but SAAB/ g. M needs to be made to recall all of these auto's and replace the flawed ignition cassette. Neither of the two ignition cassettes installed in our car have had the VIN numbers recalled. This battery issue occurred 08/05/08.

car   Battery problem of Saturn ION

The vehicle having this issue was a 2006 Saturn Ion. In 2008 my key was stuck in the ignition not allowing my car to shut off. After several hours in the blazing son with my son, a tow truck came and had to disconnect my battery and take out the ignition relay just to get my car to stop running. My car almost over heated and ran out most my gas. The ignition cylinder and switch was replaced costing over seven hundred dollars. Now in 2012 the same thing has happened again. I was quoted another six hundred and eighty dollars to replace it again. Since I do not have the funds to replace such a costly unexpected repair I am forced to live with a car that I can not drive. My key is stuck in the ignition not allowing me to lock my doors which leaves my car open for anyone to destroy it or rob it. Since you can only access the battery by the truck and the trunk can only be opened by key or automatic key ring. I can no longer access my battery to hook it back up. This is because the only other way to get to open the trunk is by having the seats down in the back and climbing through the trunk to open it. Even if someone else does open the trunk. Connecting the battery and disconnecting the battery in hundred degree weather is not acceptable. Since being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder I can no longer due such thing. If connected I can start my vehicle. Actually after replacing the ignition relay it starts itself. I see online that the ignition or its parts is an ongoing problem with my vehicle. When is it going to become a recall?. The failure date was Tuesday, June 10, 2008.

The vehicle was a 2005 Subaru Outback. It started with the dome light sometimes working and other times not, then the remote to open doors. I changed battery and fuse, did not help. So everything is locked and unlocked manually. Next it was the seat belt bell. It will go on when your driving when belt is on. Now it won't chime at all just the light flashes. Next it was the head lamps. Changed one, then immediately the other went out. The head lamps are not equal in positioning. And now the stereo only has the right side working (not sure if that's connected to electrical) it's been a nightmare. Today the dome light decided to work. car   Battery problem of Suzuki Forenza

The car was a 2006 Suzuki Forenza. Today my wife noticed that the battery indicator and brake indicator lights illuminated on the cluster panel this morning while driving to work, as well as the speedo needle bouncing around when coming to a stop. I picked up the car and drove it to auto zone to see if there were not any obd ii codes stored. I too noticed the brake/battery lights, as well as the speedo needle would jump when I used my turn signals. I got it to auto zone and there were no codes stored. It was after the code scanner was hooked up my real problems began. When putting the car in gear (either d or r) it would slam into gear, the speedo didn't work and to top it all off, the car had no acceleration. I had this issue before, and it turned out it was the transmission range selector. Well, that was replaced no less than 10k miles ago. Please, someone place this car on the lemon list so I can recoup my losses. When there is next to no acceleration, it can cause an accident because the car can not move fast enough to avoid getting clipped (or worse). The failure date was Monday, June 25, 2012.
