car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Chevrolet Impala

The car was a 2004 Chevrolet Impala. Head lights will not turn on, blinkers will not turn on, traction control turns itself of and you cannot turn it back on. The following dash lights illuminate. Check engine, battery and abs. This has been happening for about a year on and off. Started at about 80,000 miles. Sometimes only one of the above conditions occur and sometimes all at once. Problems happen day and night, damp or dry, usually only occur during engine start up, but occasionally has occurred while driving. I found a trick to make the head lights come on (turning on and off my hazard lights). My fog lights are not affected by these issues. I have had the battery and alternator tested multiple times because that is the direction everyone points me too. Both are good. I see others having the same issues. I hope this gets look into. This alternator/generator/regulator problem happened on Mar. 6, 2013.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Chevrolet Suburban

The vehicle involved was a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. The VIN of this vehicle was 3GNFK16357_. The vehicle intermittently exhibits a dead battery. This happens regardless of whether the vehicle has been driven for hundreds of miles or none at all. At seemingly random times, we go to start the vehicle and the battery is dead. We have had the battery, alternator and cables tested. All tested good. We also notice that around the same time this problem started occurring, that engine noise could be heard through the vehicle speakers regardless of whether the stereo is on. This also occurs at intermittent intervals. We have taken to the dealership and they cannot reproduce the problem in shop in order to troubleshoot. Parasitic draw test is negative due to the fact that the problem is intermittent and not constant. This issue happened on Tuesday, February 1, 2011.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Chrysler Pt Cruiser

The vehicle involved is a 2006 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. About 10-15 times over a period of about 6 months I have had repeated, irregular, intermittent malfunctions as follows. All have had the same characteristics. At different speeds, different times, different acceleration, different drivers, etc. The electrical system and engine go out momentarily then in about 1 second is restored. Rarely it is not restored for 4-5 seconds. Headlights stay on but all other electrical systems turn off fleetingly. The instrument lights go off and the dials drop to zero then almost immediately power is restored, instruments resume their previous levels and everything returns to normal. There is no sputtering, backfiring or warning of an impending event. There is no consistent circumstance which precipitates this malfunction. I have taken it twice to the dealer but the malfunction has never recurred while they were driving and alternator, battery, etc. All check out normally. This problem sounds very similar to the currently identified gm malfunction. . Are the electrical harnesses made by the same company?. It was Mar. 19, 2014 when this alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred.

It is a concern because they are not willing to work with me on my schedule to take the car in nor they offer to give me a rental and that is because I have the extended warranty and it covers a rental. This problem occurred on Monday, February 3, 2014.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Ford Windstar

The vehicle was a 2002 Ford Windstar. All of the following happened at the same time: abs and brake lights went on and stay on. O/d light flashing. Odometer and speedometer stop working. The electronic compass, remaining fuel info. , automatic electronic diagnostic and electronic temp. Showing errors. Electronic sliding door would not open unless engine is not running. Power windows stopped working 6 months ago, not sure if it is related. I had a mechanic replaced the alternator and checked the brakes. It did not fix the problems and there was nothing wrong with the brakes. I took it to Ford dealer and I was told that the abs module could be the problem because they replaced a lot of them. The abs module supposedly messing up the whole electronic system. It has less than 65,000 miles and I'm scared to drive it because the electronic system might suddenly cause other problems and cause an accident. The electronic sliding doors already would not open unless the engine is not running. In case of an emergency or a crash, someone might not be able to get out and be trapped inside because the doors and windows would not open. I was told by a Ford customer service that there is no recall to fix the problem or look into it even though they admitted they've been having similar problems to a lot of Ford vehicles. It was Friday, May. 9, 2014 when this alternator/generator/regulator issue happened.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Ford Mustang

The vehicle involved is a 2010 Ford Mustang. My car battery is being drained and going dead, while car is completely off after sitting for more than 10 minutes. I have had the battery checked, alternator checked, and all fuses pulled and diagnosed to see if there was a shortage or bad fuses. All wires, connectors, and fuses were documented to be in good standing. The car had been driving perfectly and cranking with no problem, then this problem occurred out of the blue. The same day it went dead, that morning is when my car started up slightly different; but I did not pay it much attention, since it did crank. Later that day, I started my car and it slightly took a second longer to crank; which is when I then figured something was going wrong. I made it to my destination - where I was there for about a 1. 5 hours - got in the car to leave, and thats when I first experienced a completely dead battery. I then was able to get a jump, which started my car right back up; whereas, I then headed to autozone and good year tires to have my battery tested. Each place stated that my battery was 100% and charging perfectly. I then went to an auto electric shop after googling the problem, and seeing that many others have experienced the same problem with the same year and previous Mustang models. After 5 hours of diagnosing my car and seeking what the problem may be, I was informed by the car technician that the issue of the draining is being caused from the malfunctioning of the Smart junction box - located in the foot panel of the passenger side. This alternator/generator/regulator problem happened on Thursday, May 1, 2014.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Hyundai Veracruz

The car is a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz. The VIN of this Veracruz is KM8NUDCC4B_. Following email sent to Hyundai dear sir: I have a 2011 vercruz with 27499 miles that I have loved until January 19, 2014. While traveling at 50mph, the car suffered catastrophic loss of all electrical power: no power straining, no power brakes, no engine power. It could not be restarted. By researching the net, I have learned that this problem has been described many times before. An oil gasket leaks that drips oil on the alternator producing loss of all electrical power and a dead engine. My dealer, l------n Hyundai, did the repair work, only charging me for the depleted battery. Nor were tow charges reimbursed. They concluded that oil had leaked from the gasket, destroying the alternator. I regard this has a serious safety issue. If the problem recurs for me, or for others; serious injury or loss of life could result. I request that you issue a national recall and permanent fix for this problem. I will be contacting the national highway traffic safety administration. ------ ---------. It was Sun., Jan. 19, 2014 when this alternator/generator/regulator issue happened.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Hyundai Veracruz

The vehicle involved was a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz. VIN of the vehicle was KM8NU13C58_. My wife started the car and the check engine light and key light came on. She shut the car off and put the key fob in the ignition and the car would not start. Click, click, click is what she got. When I came home from work I started the car after jumping it off from my truck. The car ran but the check engine light was on. I started to drive it to an auto parts store to get the diagnostic code but before I could get very far the instrument panel lit up with several warning lights. Turned the car around and drove home. Fortunately, the car has less than 60k miles and less than 5 yrs old. (58,200 miles and 4 years 8 months old) had car towed to dealership. Due to some simple research I was not a bit surprised when informed that the alternator was bad due to a headcover gasket leaking engine oil. Dealer fixed all at no charge because still under warranty. Was told that it will cost me around $550. 00 after the warranty expires. This is the second electrical issue in 4 months. This car is currently for sale. The failure date was 11/19/13.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Infiniti G35

The vehicle involved is a 2004 Infiniti G35. The third brake light on the rear deck has failed for no apparent reason. The car will not pass inspection. They want several hundred dollars to replace the entire unit. I have researched online and found this is a voluminous problem for this model year. It was recalled and addressed by Infiniti for the 2003 model year g and it is still a problem for the 2004 year. This needs to be recalled and fixed accordingly at the manufacturer cost. All these owners are not having the same failing issues without cause. I own two 2004 Infiniti G35 sedans. I used to love both of them. This one has problems with the brake light and now the airbag light is mysteriously blinking for no reason! the other one has had issues for years with being able to put gas in and I have had problems at the gas station trying to fill the car! ridiculous! if Infiniti doesn't do something . . . I'll be switching makers. This one listed also has fuel presure regulator/damper failures . . . While my other '04 g (with over 200,000 miles on it) has none. Explain that. I live the real . . . Between two of the same model year. Fix the problems Infiniti!. This alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred Nov. 7, 2011.

The vehicle is a 2013 Kia Motor Sorento. 04-21-2014 @ 5:30 am. Car will not start. No electrical present on any system-nothing. Called kia roadside service and they suggested a jumpstart which we did and the car started. I ran the car for an hour or so with no problems. I took it to a local garage and had the battery and alternator tested and no problems were found. I called kia dealership and described the events to them and they stated that it was simply a dead battery. Next morning (yesterday), the car was totally dead once more. Called kia roadside assistance and they wanted to jumpstart it again. I refused and told them to send me a tow. They did and the car was taken to the closest kia dealership, 65 miles away. Several hours later I called the dealership and they stated that it was a dead battery. They charged the battery for 3-4 hours, tested the charging system and pronounced it "fixed". I left it at the dealership and picked it up this morning (today). It started and my wife is now driving it. car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Lincoln LS

My 01 Lincoln Ls 3. 9 v8 caught fire while it was sitting in my driveway at 11:30 pm. By the time it was noticed, the entire front half was engulfed. It exploded about 3 times (possibly the airbags exploding). The fire department put the fire out before it reached the fuel tank. I had driven it around an hour before. The most damage was near the driver side front of car near where the headlight and air filter were located. The passenger side of the engine compartment had not burned as intense as the driver side. (the driver side front of the hood had completely burned away. . ) the fire dept said it possibly started in the engine but the fire had burned so much that they could not be sure. No investigation since I only had liability insurance. I have owned the car since 2008 and have noticed different electrical malfunctions such as radio volume increasing, indicator lights randomly coming on/off (atc, abs, air bag, ect). About one month before fire the car was having issues with not starting and randomly dying as I was driving. The battery was tested and was not the issue. I loved my car but I don't think it was ever free of issues. (window regulators/clips replaced each window twice, oil in cylinders-replaced all cylinders/coils/ect twice, car would lose power/hesitate over 40mph, gas peddle would get stuck if pressed to quickly causing rpms to surge but car would not go over 25-30 mph and would be extremely hard to stop (it would surge forward and I would have to put all my weight on the brake peddle to keep it from hitting whatever was in front of it) I would temp fix this issue by flicking the idle control lever (which I noticed one of the "e clips" had come off of one of the arms) near the throttle body (which would also get stuck open/closed and have to be cleaned on reg basis. ) many more issues not listed here. . . Beautiful car but definitely a lemon. . . It was Friday, September 6, 2013 when this alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Mercedes Benz ML320

The car was a 2007 Mercedes Benz Ml320. Years ago, while driving through new mexico, my dash and command center flashed off and rebooted. It was a little concerning because we were using the gps exclusively for our directions. There was also a transmission warning light that came on warning us to get to the nearest dealer, without shifting gears. This happened perhaps 10-15 times until I was able to detour to the mb dealer in albuquerque - absolutely wonderful people. They told me that it would sound strange but the problem was caused by a faulty glow plug sensor or module - which they didn't have in stock. Since our destination was l. A. , they called ahead to mb of beverly hills (bh), (also wonderful people) to check if they had one. They (mb of bh) couldn't find any other trouble codes except a few power spikes so they replaced the alternator, under warranty. They even rushed it due to a family emergency back home. It happened on the way back several times, then didn't happen again until I drove to colorado in 2013. It happened repeatedly while there. I called the mb dealer in denver who was supposed to have the service department call me back - they never did. I wonder if it has something to do with a change in altitude or lower humidity (electrostatic discharges)- perhaps extended driving as I drove 1,200 + miles to CO in 20 hours stopping only twice for fuel and once for a hotel. Any ideas folks?. It was Monday, March 16, 2009 when this alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred.

Soon the battery light started to come on at stops or low idles. 8/2012 dealer could not reproduce the brake lights coming on, but replaced alternator. 11/2012 still problem with brake lights on the dash coming on now plus the check engine light. Vehicle sputtering and stalling (could not stop without vehicle totally stalling and had to have foot on gas at all time, even when braking, or would stall. ) 2nd dealer still could not verify the dash brake lights but resealed connector, replaced spark plugs, clean mass airflow, reset kam, replaced heated pcv hose. Could drive vehicle but brake lights were both still sporadically coming on while driving. 7/2013 still having problems with both dash brake lights coming on only now the radio dies when they come on, when they go off, the radio comes back on. If the radio didn't go off, sometimes shutting it off would result in the brake lights going off. Dealer still unable to verify. This progressed to the battery light coming on sporadically (around time brake lights would come on) and usually going off if the ac was turned up on high. The vehicle also started to lose power when passing, felt like a down shift. The dash light issue occurs daily, but there is no pattern. It can be wet, dry, hot, cold, after 5 miles, after 30 mile, side streets, expressway, morning, evening there is no constant. 10/2013 vehicle back at dealer since the problem happens every day. They can't reproduce. Only code they get is the alternator, which was replaced last year and didn't help the problem. They have resealed the cpu and that doesn't help. This vehicle has been plagued by electrical problems since day one (heater, seat heater, cigarette lighters, door locks etc) concerned electrical issues could result in loss of power or fire. It was 07/10/12 when this alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Mitsubishi Outlander

The car involved was a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander. First, only a few weeks after purchasing this vehicle new, the fuse blew on the aux / cig lighter. Approx. One year after purchase, I had to take it in, because all the lights and gauges would start flashing and the radio would go off. The vehicle continued running, but it was scary. Additionally, the door sometimes would not open from the outside with the fob. The dealer corrected this problem. Since then, starting in June of 2013, or earlier, while driving at night, the lights frequently dim and get brighter, especially if the a/c is on. I also had to replace my battery in November, 2013; it was less than 3 yrs old. They told me then (back in November) they were ordering a new alternator for me (covered under warranty). It is now the end of March and when I called my local Mitsubishi dealer again, and they told me there is a 1,000 unit back order on the alternators on these vehicles, and the new, I am guessing redesigned unit, would not be out until the beginning of may. My electrical problems are getting worse. . . Now when I plug in my iphone via the aux / cig lighter, sometime it won't charge, other times, it blows the plug and sometimes the usb cord. I frequently have to buy new chargers because they keep blowing! help! I’m sure there are others having this problem. There should really be recall on this vehicle! thank you. D. This problem occurred on February 7, 2011.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Mitsubishi Montero Sport

The car involved is a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. While traveling on the new jersey turnpike, I-78, and other highways, the Mitsubishi alternator intermittently failed, causing loss of power steering and other electrically control functions. What makes this notably is that it was the 5th alternator that failed and had to be replaced within 1-1/2 years. Each time while driving on highways between 55 and 65 mph the alternator failed and sudden loss of vehicle steering control and operation, occurred with narrow escapes from serious accidents while navigating to safety. This issue happened on Saturday, May. 7, 2011.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Nissan Murano

The vehicle involved is a 2009 Nissan Murano. We were driving and the car lost speed. We had the car towed to the Nissan dealer and they diagnosed that the battery had failed. This was the second new battery. Then, the car ran until the battery went dead and again the car stopped on the road in traffic without warning. Again the car was towed to the Nissan dealer and this time the problem was diagnosed as a bad alternator. Questions bought up that the 2008 Nissan Muranos had had a campaign to replace faulty alternators but not the 2009. The problem is that without warning light on the dash that there is a problem with the charging system, the car battery goes dead and the car stops while driving. The risk of catastrophic accident is extreme. This problem occurred on Mar. 21, 2014.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Saturn ION

The car involved is a 2005 Saturn Ion. I checked electrical above, for affected parts, but I am not sure if that is correct. It was the ignition. I was driving on whitney Ave. (towards new haven) in hamden, CT. Traffic was moderate due to the time of day (3:00 p. M. ) suddenly, and with no warning other than the dash lighting up with engine lights, my car stopped. There was enough momentum to turn it into the post office driveway. Brakes and steering did not work. Fortunately, the cars coming up behind me were able to swerve to avoid hitting me. The incident caused a traffic jam and a mess in the post office. A very kind man offered to help push the car out of the incoming driveway. He put it in neutral and pushed it out of the way. I have aaa service. The call was made and the car was towed to firestone on dixwell Ave. , since I live in the vicinity and could walk home. I have the receipt for work done by firestone. The job cost me $262. 82. I was on my way to I-91. I dread to think of what could have happened, if the car suddenly stopped in 65 mile an hour traffic. (I jest, since trucks regularly pass going well over 70!) I wish to send my bill to gm, but no address is provided on the recall letter. Please advise. If I do not hear from you, I will go to valenti motors in wallingford to ask for assistance in obtaining an address to send my bill. I expect full compensation for the costs associated with this incident, and will provide the firestone invoice. In a separate recent incident, again, on my way to an interstate, the car went dead again. This time, I came to rest up against a barrier between the road and a salt marsh! in this case it was the alternator. The car was towed again to firestone, where they replaced the alternator and the battery. I write this, just in case gm has ignored another problem. car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Subaru Outback

The car involved is a 2011 Subaru Outback. 1st incident 1/10/2014- leaving a stop light car would not accelerate and vdc, cel and brake light flashing. Sat on the side of the road for about 1/2 hour. Husband came to pick us up and tried starting the car. The car started and was able to drive w/o further issue. Check codes and had misfire cyc 1,2,3,4. Local mechanic could find nothing wrong cleared codes. Husband noticed both drl lights were blown. Replaced both and when the key was turned on (not started) heard a loud squealing electrical noise from the area of the alternator/power steering pump where the electrical harness is bolted to the top of the engine. Started the car and it drove fine for about 2 weeks. 2nd incident 1/14/2014 - pulling away from a friends house vdc and cel lights come on. Turn off car and sit for about 20 minutes. Start car all warning lights gone and car drove fine. Husband checked codes and found misfire cyc 1,2 only 3rd incident 1/30/2014 - leaving stop light and vdc light comes on and car will only go about 3 miles per hour enough to get it off road and engine stalls. No cel this time. Sit for about five minutes start car and it drives fine and all lights gone. Replaced the battery and had mechanic clean out the abs brake sensors. Subaru America and our dealership where we bought the car are aware and can find nothing wrong. This alternator/generator/regulator problem happened on Friday, January 10, 2014.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Subaru Outback

The vehicle involved was a 2010 Subaru Outback. I bought my Outback in March 2010. I noticed my dash lights flickering early in my ownership, but I thought they flickered because maybe I went into a shadow and a sensor caused them to go off and on. The feeling the car is going to stall has happened before, but it was and would only happen every now and again. On a recent trip, January 8, 2012, it did it every time I slowed down for 4 or 5 traffic lights . That really got my attention. I thought maybe my brakes were catching so I took it into my dealer on January 12, 2010. They told me the brakes were fine. After I thought about it, I decided the "catching feeling" actually felt more like l had not depressed a clutch when slowing down and the car was going to stall. The only problem with that theory is that I have an automatic I spoke to my-son in-law about the feeling that the engine is going to stall when I slow down at a light. He mentioned that he had noticed the flickering lights last winter when he drove my car. He explained to me that it was not normal for the lights to do that. He told me to have the alternator checked out. I took it back to the dealer on January 27, 2012. They ran three different diagnostic test and everything checked out fine. I am so afraid the car will cut out on me and I will lose control on the road. I thought I was the only one having this problem, but after my son did an internet search he found a lot of people having the same problem. From the complaints I read most people have a manual transmission. This alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred 01/08/2012.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Toyota Camry

The vehicle involved is a 2007 Toyota Camry. I had my rear brakes installed at hollywood Toyota in October of 2013. As I left the dealership once the job was complete, my abs light, the brake light came on, my speed odometer stopped working along with my ac which started blowing hot air. I took the car back the following day and got the runaround. The Toyota mechanic said it was the alternator since it was new, and it was giving to much amps. I immediately took the car back to the place the alternator was put in. The problem still existed after going back and forth with the problem. My service tech norm franz said I would have to pay to have a diagnostic test done on the car. Of course I got mad! when I bought the car in I had no problems with the vehicle. The Sunday before my last visit to hollywood Toyota, it started raining, which caused my windows to fog up inside and me driving in a ditch because of poor visibility. Not from the outside, but from the inside everything became fogging in the interior of the car, where I either had to make contact with a car in front of me or go off into the ditch to avoid an accident from whipping the window trying to see in front of me. When, I saw hollywood Toyota not wanting to except responsibility for the actions it has caused! I contacted Toyota corporate and they in turn allowed me to take the car in for another diagnostic without cost. After leaving the dealership, the problem was no better then I took it in. But in addition to me taking it in. I went online and saw I was not the only one who had problem with the abs, brake light style coming on along with the speedometer not working. After dang near pulling what hair I have left out, I am reaching out to you to help eliminate this problem before a major accident occur and lives are lost, because someone else who's ac may not be working on the account of the electrical system failing would be a tragedy. car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Volvo S40

The vehicle involved is a 2006 Volvo S40. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was YV1MS382X6_. At least 5 times I have had the car in the Volvo dealership. The car without warning, powers down to 50%, the windshield wipers start up, all the gauges drop to zero position and abs brake malfunction lights light up. If you pull over and stop, the car shuts down and you can not pull out the key. If I wait 15 minutes, the key can be turned off and you can restart the car. While the check engine light stays on, everything else is normal till the next time. It had done this 6 times in the last 6 months. Dealer can not figure it out other them a electrical malfunction from somewhere in the computer. If it happens going up a grade or hill, the power down slows the car in which is is sometimes impossible to power up over the hill. Every time we take it to the dealer, it then runs with no problem, but lasts 2 or 3 weeks before acting up again. They have changed the batter, alternator, unplugged and replugged the computer terminal. This car is unsafe and unreliable to take on long trips. Do you know of a recall to get this problem fixed ?. This issue happened on Wednesday, October 9, 2013.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Volvo XC60

The car involved was a 2012 Volvo Xc60. VIN of the vehicle was YV1DZ83A4C_. Sudden failure of the power steering, amongst others, right in the middle of a crossroads. Very dangerous emergency stopping of the car, engine stopped, all alarms on, steering nearly impossible to use without power. Had to tow the vehicle to service center. Volvo claims this is nothing more than a common place alternator failure (there has been a recall campaign for similar problems with auxiliary belt tensioner). Power steering failed although battery was fully charged. Found on the internet this occurring several times to other Xc60 drivers. As alternator failures without any warning are so "common place" and as they can have such very negative impact on safety, why isn't there any battery-based power steering survivability as on most other vehicles?. car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Audi Q5

The vehicle having this issue was a 2009 Audi Q5. Vehicle has been well maintained and serviced on schedule at the dealership. There were no warning lights or indications on the dashboard prior to the incident. After the car sat idle all night, on the morning the next day, I tried to to start to car. There was big pop sound. Turned off the engine and restarted after a couple of mins and noticed, message on the dashboard indicating alternator fault. Opened the hood and noticed the serpentine belt has completely fallen off. This resulted in the power steering being completely disabled. Battery stopped charging. Very very luck that this incident happened when the car was idle. The car was impossible to drive as the steering was extremely difficult to turn. Secondly the battery stopped charging. The dealership service has no answer as to what causes this. Especially when the car has been through service just a few months ago. Very concerned if such issues happens on the highway at high speeds. How can a vehicle with such low mileage plus complete maintenance have such issues. Audi has so many inbuilt sensors and yet there was no indication something is wrong. This alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred Thursday, May 8, 2014.

car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Audi S4

The instrument cluster on all the Audi S4s and also on vw loose pixels on the dash and it goes out, it is a hazard because this is a gauge that does a system check every time you start the vehicle, the car tells the driver if there are brake problems, engine problems, also if lights are out I. E. Brake lights turn signals, and also fluid status of the car. When this instrument cluster goes out or as Audi calls it loses pixels, the driver does not know the status of the car which could cause safety and harm to the operator. It has been documented many times and has been replaced on my car over 4 times and is a common occurrence with other Audi owners. Also the window regulator clip that holds the window breaks as well, Audi and vw did a recall VIN specific models of the beetle jetta and a4 but not the S4, the clip is the same design that is used in my vehicle. It also has been documented many times of failing and causes another safety issue, if the clip breaks the window will roll down unexpectedly, I. E. Causing the window to break which throws glass all over the occupants in the car and also exposes limbs to objects outside of the vehicle without knowledge. Many complaints have been made about this design flaw. I have tried to resolve these issues with Audi multiple times and phone calls and multiple emails, regardless of the age and miles on my car, it is the same things that keep breaking, causing these safety issues. Both of these issues have been an ongoing problem from day one when these designs were put on the market. And replacing these items is necessary to ensure the safety of my occupants and myself. They need to be redesigned and revamped to solve these issues. Replacing them every single year is not acceptable. And even more so when someone's life is at risk, due to a bad and careless design. This alternator/generator/regulator issue occurred Wednesday, July 18, 2001.

The vehicle involved is a 2006 BMW 3 Series. First the driver side door lock actuator would not unlock so I would have to use the key to unlock the driver door. Bought a new actuator and had it replaced. Not even one month later the back seat driver side door lock actuator went out as well. However there is no key hole for the back door and it cannot be opened from the inside. I was told by a BMW dealer that I would have to have the door torn off and replaced with a new door because there was no way to open the door. But wait there's more! both back window regulators went out as well! got the back seat passenger side fixed. But can't get the driver side done yet. This all happened within a year. car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Buick Regal

I purchased a new 2013 Buick Regal e-assist vehicle from the gm dealership in st. Catharines. When I attempted to start my new car and drive it for the first time, to my surprise and dismay, the emergency lights went off, windshield wipers started wiping, audible warning sounds went off, and the car started making loud screeching noises! the vehicle sounded as if it was crying and dying! I was frightened that the vehicle was going to explode in my garage! I immediately exited the car. When I returned to the vehicle a few moments later, all power was off in the vehicle. It appeared as if the vehicle had a power failure. Upon doing some research online I found that apparently, to my surprise, there was a recall on the vehicle (recall # 13146) due to a potential malfunction issue with the generator control module. Appears that my vehicle was one of the vehicles affected by the defective gcm, however the vehicle was sold to me prior to having the gcm replaced! I am extremely displeased that the recall was not dealt with by the dealership! while my vehicle was towed to the gm dealership and successfully repaired, this situation has caused me an unacceptable amount of stress, emotional trauma, and physical symptoms such as heart palpitations and insomnia! for the past month, I have had perpetual nightmares related to this e-assist vehicle! I am even frightened to approach the vehicle and start it, for fear of what might happen again! I am constantly worried that the vehicle is going to explode or catch fire! furthermore, I have tried driving the car for short distances daily, but I have been experiencing headaches, anxiety, dizziness, and numbness while driving. Due to the trauma and negative health problems (heart problems, insomnia, etc. ) that I have experienced as a result of this e-assist vehicle, I am in the process of trading in for a non hybrid. car   Alternator/generator/regulator problem of Jaguar XJR

The car involved was a 2000 Jaguar Xjr. I was driving in the middle lane of a 5 lane freeway at 65mph when without any warning I lost all power and the engine began to coast at 15mph. Without power steering or brakes I was fortunate enough to get to the right shoulder. I had the car towed to my dealer who told me that both the alternator and battery had failed. They reviewed the computer fault warnings to confirm that no warning was ever registered by the system. A total battery failure less than 10 minutes after a normal start is odd and no warning is inexcusable, as is the total alternator failure without system notification.
