car   Headlights problem of GMC Acadia

I have needed to replace 7 low beam headlamps on my GMC Acadia since 2011. This week both low beam headlamps went out in a 24 hour period. Replacing the headlamps is a very expensive item due to the labor involved (removing the front wheels and wheel wells). This costs anywhere between $150 to $250 each time. I consider this a safety issue since this happens so often. This last event happened at night requiring us to drive home without any low beam headlights. I've had the car in at the dealer twice, each service took 2 hours and they were not able to find anything, independent tests confirmed that a voltage spike was occurring which could be causing the bulbs to fail, perhaps from faulty voltage regulator. This is a safety issue at this point because twice the headlight bulbs failed at night, both times on a highway, once with pouring down rain and other time was while passing throughout appalachian mountains. I should mention that high beam was not affected. It was Wednesday, July 31, 2013 when this headlights issue occurred.

car   Headlights problem of Infiniti FX35

I purchased an Infiniti Fx35 from a local dealer, at the time of purchase, I noted some condensation in the driver's side headlight, which I quickly pointed out to the dealer. I also purchased an extended warranty on this vehicle. They instructed me to call my salesman to schedule an appointment for repair. He has always conveniently unavailable. I could never get an appointment for45 days, at which time they would not repair the vehicle. The condensation is so bad that you cannot see the light or roadway ahead of you. I cannot drive this vehicle at night. They have refused to do anything about this. Meanwhile they have placed a state inspection sticker on this vehicle. Other inspection stations have told me that they could not pass this vehicle because of this condition. This is in total violation of state and federal safety laws and local inspection criteria. I am responsible for an elderly parent and cannot take her to any doctor or hospital either when it is dark or overcast. The dealer keeps repeating 30 days. In addition the vehicle has since developed a further electrical problem with the passenger side headlight leaving me with no night time illumination, rendering the vehicle unusable at night. No high or low beam on one side and a dispersed and diffused light on the left. This issue happened on Thursday, June 6, 2013.

car   Headlights problem of Kia Motor Sorento

The vehicle involved was a 2005 Kia Motor Sorento. I was stopped by a fhp officer on my way home one Friday evening for my left headlights being out. I didn't know they were out until he stopped me. I didn't get a ticket, only a warning. The officer said it was very dangerous to be driving on the interstate with my lights out. A couple years back I was stopped in valdosta for the same reason. This has happened at least 50 times or more since I have had this car. My lights go out every couple of months and sometimes I don't know there out until someone stops me or I can hardly see to drive. It is very dangerous and I think kia should recall this model and fix the problem. I am not the only one who is having this problem. I have over 100+ posts from this site of others with the same problem. Are they going to wait until someone is killed in an accident before kia will do something about it. I have talked to a lawyer and I plan to start a class action lawsuit against kia if they don't do something about this situation. There are plenty of others who are ready also. The kia dealers want do anything to help with this, and they know it is a problem that is from the factory. All they ever say is it's not covered under the warranty. I bought this car new in 2005. I went down to south florida to visit in 2005 and on the way down all my headlights went out. I couldn't see to drive at all so we had to stop for the night and wait till morning to get it fixed. It cost me over $80. 00 to get it fixed the first time. Since they go out on a monthly basis, my husband has been fixing them. It is getting quite expensive to keep replacing the bulbs and it's very annoying and dangerous as well!!. This headlights problem happened on Oct. 18, 2013.

car   Headlights problem of Kia Motor Sorento

The car is a 2005 Kia Motor Sorento. I have a 2005 kia Sorento. I have had a problem with my headlights since I have had my car which I bought new in 2005. I have taken it to the dealer in valdosta GA several times to find out about it and they always say it's not a recall so they can't do anything about it. I have to replace headlights and taillights every 3 or 4 months. It is very expensive. My dome light hasn't worked in years and my check engine light stays on all the time. I know there is some kind of defect in the electrical system and it's been this way from the beginning. The 10 year/100,000. 00 mile warranty is about useless with this car. There has not been one thing since I have had the car that was covered under warranty. I will never buy a kia again and I certainly want ever use kia in valdosta GA again, they have the worst service I have ever seen. There favorite thing to say is "it's not covered under our warranty!" that is supposedly there big selling point and it is worthless! everyone who is having the same trouble needs to complain so we can get this recalled and fixed. I wish I knew where to complain to that could make that happen. They don't really care in valdosta whether you complain or not, there not going to do anything about it anyway. Well I have been stopped numerous times by the police for my lights being out. So far I have not got a ticket, but it is highly dangerous to have no lights while driving at night and you never know when they are going to be out. I know I am not the only one having this problem, I have well over 100 emails from repair pal about others having headlight problems. This needs to be recalled before someone is killed in an accident and then sue the kia company. Sick of buying headlights!. It was 07/04/05 when this headlights issue occurred.

car   Headlights problem of Mazda MAZDA3

The car was a 2004 Mazda Mazda3. The VIN of this Mazda3 is JM1BK32314_. Headlight casing has always allowed moisture and condensation to build up inside of them since the first year we bought the vehicle in 2004. We were always told by Mazda bakersfield thai was a known defect but not anything to worry about. We constantly have had to replace the headlight bulbs over the years. Sometimes they would last several months but always they would burn out. It was not until the headlamps in our new 2010 Mazda 3 started building condensation inside during the first year that we again questioned this issue. Again we were told it was a known defect and not a problem. In November of 2013 both headlights on our 2010 failed. Only then we given the true information that the moisture they allowed to stay inside the headlamp area is what was shorting out the bulbs. There are multiple complaints and even multiple service bulletins on this exact issue telling dealer to replace the headlamp casing. Yet no recall and because of that at least 3service centers where we have taken our vehicles for the past 11 years have refused to acknowledge the issue and repair the problem until now. Now conveniently they have offered to repair our vehicles. Of course that's to e tune of thousands of dollars for the 2010 alone. This is ridiculous that such a dangerous defect has been allowed to continue for so many years. This headlights problem happened on 11/18/2004.

car   Headlights problem of Mitsubishi Outlander

The car involved was a 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander. After moving to texas the vehicle inspection station alerted me to the severely degraded headlight lens on both sides. I have restored the surface and sealed the cracks numerous times but they are in need of restoration or replacement again. The lens alone is not available and the whole assembly costs over $200. 00 each. The car was purchased in December of 2003 at the same time I bought my Ford f150 and parked beside the truck every day for more than nine years. The lens on my Ford is still crystal clear, no cracks and looks to be new. The lens on my Mitsubishi is cloudy, cracked and causes my headlights to be very dim. If not for the polymer sealer I am sure there would be water intrusion which would lead to headlamp failure. It was 08/12/08 when this headlights issue occurred.

car   Headlights problem of Nissan Altima

The car was a 2013 Nissan Altima. The low-beam headlights on my 2013 Altima sv with 2. 5 engine, do not throw light down the road far enough. I now refuse to drive the car at interstate speeds at night. . . Or when there is fog or heavy rain. I tested my observation by parking my 2006 Toyota camry beside the Nissan Altima and turning both lights on low beam. The Altima's throw is dramatically less than the Altima's. I feel quite safe driving the camry at night at interstate speeds. My service writer and service manager and original sales person have repeatedly already explained that there is no problem with the headlights and there is nothing that can be done. I reject the statements of all who represent Nissan. This headlights issue occurred Dec. 29, 2012.

When the consumer called the dealer to explain the situation, she was given an estimate of $1300 to replace the headlight assemblies. Soon after, the passenger high beam light would not come on. She went back to the auto parts store and purchased another bulb. On February 24, 2014, the consumer was informed, Subaru would pay 50% for the replacement, as a courtesy because the vehicle was out of warranty. This headlights problem happened on 01/24/2014.

car   Headlights problem of Suzuki Kizashi

The vehicle involved was a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi. My headlights have gone out either one or sometimes both. Either low beam or day lights. All dealership does is replace the bulb but not fix the problem. This has happened more than a handful of times since 2012. This is frustrating and I hate this car. It sounds to me like an electrical issue but they can't find anything wrong with it. The failure date was Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

car   Headlights problem of Toyota Tacoma

The car involved was a 2011 Toyota Tacoma. The daytime running lights have burned into the inner areas of my headlight assemblies and it continues to get worse. Seeing as they cannot be turned off and they continue to get worse I fear they may one day cause a fire or further damage. I have talked to the dealer, Toyota corporate and they will do nothing and show no concern for the issue, I drive alot of miles and purchased a Toyota due to dependabilty. When the problem was 1st talked to with Toyota the truck was only 1 1/2 years old but had around 40,000 miles to which their excuse was that it is outside the warranty period. Please note that Toyota knows this is an issue as they have issued a TSB stating the problem exists and the model year 2012 and forward these are re-designed to eliminate this problem. However there are thousands of these trucks on the roads frm 2005 to 2011 that had the dtrl option and the owners can do nothing to stop this issue from occuring or guarantee their and their families safety. When I talked to Toyota they did offer to replace 1 assembly if I paid for the other at a cost of $450? why should I be required to pay to fix their poorly engineered parts that they know are an issue? you can find aftermarket light assemblies for around $80 online and I cannot believe that it costs Toyota $450 to produce this assembly, they were not making me a deal and paying for 1, I was paying for both! Toyota should recall these assemblies and replace as at this point it shows that Toyota has no plans of doing the right thing and correcting the known problem without being told they have to. The failure date was Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

car   Headlights problem of Volkswagen Passat

The car involved is a 2012 Volkswagen Passat. Both of my headlights have failed (on two different occasions). The first in 2013 (right side) in which dealer representative said that vw was having a problem with the light housings. They were going to charge me for the repair, but the dealership management decided to do a "curtesy" fix. In April of 2014 the left light failed and the vw dealership siad I would have to pay for repairs and then "apply" for a refund when the recall campaign came out. They have had a known proble for over 18 months and they still have not issued a recall. No lights creates a very hazardous situation. It was March 4, 2013 when this headlights issue occurred.

car   Headlights problem of Volvo XC90

VIN of the vehicle was YV1CZ91125_. We purchased this 2005 Volvo Xc90 used in October 2011 and since that time have had to replace the headlamp module 3 times. The left headlights would sometimes work and other times not. Each time we took it in for diagnosis, we were told that the headlamp module needed to be replace. This is a $460 part, one that has a long history of failure. My wife is afraid to drive this vehicle at night, for fear that the headlights will go out. I can understand if the module failed once, or maybe even twice, but three times in only 2. 5 years and less than 20,000 miles. It appears that this is a recurring problem with other Volvo owners as well, yet Volvo has not taken steps to remedy the issue. I consider this to be a significant safety issue, one that need to be addressed. I am very disappointed with Volvo's lack of action to correct this problem. Checking online, I see that many other Volvo Xc90 owners have been experiencing the same problem. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. It was 03/20/2014 when this headlights issue happened.

car   Headlights problem of Audi S4

The car is a 2005 Audi S4. The VIN of this vehicle is WAUBL68E35_. Bought this car from dealer, used, low mileage, great car. Headlights were filled with condensation. Dealer said to dry them out and re-seal them. That didn't work. There is still water in both headlights. It hasn't rained and has not been humid outside. Pulled over the first night and told they were a safety concern and needed to get them fixed, luckily just a warning issued, no ticket. I can't see at night with the amount of condensation/water that has accumulated in both headlights. This should be a problem that Audi recalls. It's not safe due to decreased visibility, no visibility at times, and the car won't pass the state inspection until this problem is fixed. Obviously there is no warranty and the dealership totally blew off my concerns telling me some bs story about how to fix it myself because their labor rates were so high. This vehicle is not safe to operate with defective headlights and I really hope Audi addresses this issue. Bought a car and can't even pass inspection to drive it, worthless vehicle and money sitting in the driveway. Not happy. This headlights problem happened on Monday, May. 19, 2014.

car   Headlights problem of Audi A6

The vehicle was a 2006 Audi A6. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is WAUDH74F46_. While replacing a headlight bulb I noticed that the insulation on wires inside the headlight compartment had flaked off, exposing at least 1 inch of multiple wires (low beam and high beam) all along the length of those wires. Both headlights show the same symptom. High beam wires (+v and gnd) are held together with a zip tie and there is flaking insulation all around it, so using the high beam could result in a short circuit inside the headlight housing. As all of the wires are in close proximity, it is possible that normal use of the car (e. G. Bouncing along a rough road) could cause the wires to contact each other and short circuit. This issue happened on Mon., May. 19, 2014.

The vehicle is a 2005 Buick Lesabre. Started out as a headlamp that we thought was burned out. Replaced the bulb and it worked for a day or two. Next the gas gauge, speedometer, heat and cooling gauge and now both headlamps do not work. My husband has to drive in the dark with brights on because there are absolutely no headlights . This is a serious safety issue and gm should be issuing a recall.
